HP/Compaq :: Hp Dv4-1155se- Resolution On Xp Only Work The 1280x800
May 10, 2009
i have an hp dv4-1155se, the videocard its an hd3200 mobily reaedon ati, i have xp sp3
the problem its, when i install the driver, i only can use the resolution 1280x800, if i put another resolutions, doesnt work full screen, i hate 1280x800 i like 1024.
I have a HP 6710b (p/n= GJ679LA#ABM) with a 1280x800 lcd.
I would like to know if I can upgrade my lcd resolution to 1680x1050 (of course, I am talking about buying another lcd here). I know both resolutions have a 1.60 aspect ratio. And also that this model was offered with 1680x1050 displays.
I am using Vista Bussiness and XP Professional (32bits). The video hardware installed in my laptop is: Mobile Intel(R) GM965 Express Chipset.
i tried to downgrade from vista to xp, i inserted the disk, and bam blue screen, so i decided to enter the bios, but there is no option of changing to ACHI IDE OR ATA
ive been googling like crazy, and even went to the official hp site, but they only have one driver for xp. so im hoping you guys know how to downgrade to xp because ive been to this site to help me with my m8120nse and my 2 inspirons, thanks

i bought an hp dv4-1155se about 2days ago, now i have the vista witch came with the notebook, i dont know if its this version of vista or what, but i think i have high temperatures
for example, if the cpu ussage its on 20-40 % the temperatures are:
i cant install the xp on my notebook, because the os show me a blue screen, and then restart automatic, and then i dont have the drivers, my notebook has an amd processor.
do somebody use one of this models? i think both are very simillar, i would like to know about temperature and noise, can somebody give me the values about the temperature
i have an hp dv4-1155se, i opened the place where is the hd, and when i opened, i saw the hd has a plastic on the hd, like antistatic or something like this, i would like to know, what is this? and what happened if i take out this plastic? i think plastic helps to have a high hd temperature,
On the Dell Outlet all E6400 models are listed as LED including the WXGA (1280X800) Can anyone confirm they have a WXGA (1280X800) that is actually LED not CCFL? CCFL is not even listed as an option when configuring a new E6400.
I'm looking for a new screen - I saw an out fit on ebay that lists the dell inspiron 1300, 1525 and 1505 screen as one and the same.
So I start to hunt and I land here, which links to here which linked me to here: That outfit's
page lists them all with identical specs and there's like 30!: so my question is, aside form those that are matte vs the glossy are they all the exact same physical dimensions and definitely interchangeable?
My TV's native resolution is 1366 x 768. My VAIO FW-190 has Intel Chipset and both the Windows built in software and Intel provided graphic card settings software do not show the 1366x768 resolution. I can't find a way to set the Vaio's HDMI output to that resolution.
where I can buy a DV5 with a decent processor and WSXGA+ resolution? All I can find are the basic models with the standard WXGA. I've tried everywhere I can think of, including the incredibly poor HP website.
I currently own a dv5-1235dx. The native resolution for this laptop is 1280x800. However, when I connect the HDMI cable to my laptop, the maximum resolution my display settings will allow is 1024x768. This makes it look awful on the TV, stretching a 4:3 display across a 16:9 screen.
my HPdv5t Intel 1680x1050 resolution laptop with hdmi to this 24in HP w2408h monitor and getting the monitor's full 1920x1200 resolution? I know its refurb'd, but I think I can live with that.
It has a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS vid card.
Is the video card the only thing that effects this?
I've got a 1080p screen on my Envy 15, and I'd like to be able to play some games at 1366x768, but I cannot switch to that resolution by default. Does anyone know how to set a custom resolution of 1366x768?
I have a HP HDX18t w/ Windows 7 Home Premium and the Nvidia GeForce GT 130M video card. I'm trying to hook up a Dell 30" LCD monitor with a native resolution of 2560x1600 via the HDMI output using a HDMI to DVI cable. Doing so, the system will only allow the external Dell a max resolution of 1280x800 while the HDX screen stays at 1920x1080. The 1280x800 look really bad. I want to use its native resolution of 2560x1600 or atleast the 1920x1080. When I use VGA output, nothing shows up on 30" (blank black screen).
Using my 24" Dell, I can get 1920x1080 either via the VGA or HDMI (to DVI) fine. Based on my research it seems to be a limitation of the Nvidia GeForce GT 130M because it just doesn't allow that high a resolution (i.e. no dual-link DVI capabilitiy). Is this true? Or am doing something wrong?
Is there any solution in using a 30" monitor with the HP HDX18t? Will one of those Matrox DualHead2Go devices work to run the 30" and 24 inch monitor simultaneous at 1920x1200. I'll be fine with that. My wife is firm in using the 30" monitor we have. Is this a loss cause and I have to get another laptop that will support a 30" external monitor? If so, any advice on which one.
Not sure whether the highest resolution will be too small for my liking -- if I get the 1920x1080 screen can I decrease the resolution without any problems if it turns out I don't like the highest resolution?
This is on a HDX16 running Vista Home Premium SP1. The maximum/normal resolution is 1920x1080, but that was alittle small so I changed it to 1360x768. Now all the text (really everything) looks out of focus.
How can I get the exact resolution of 1360x768 (720p) in my HP dv2700 using the HDMI cabel? I currently have the 179.48 drivers installed and I couldnt figure a way to get a 1360x768 !? I tried using customs resolution but it wont work, the TV (samsung) keeps giving me a 1920x1080 which is not the native resolution.
I also own a desktop with an Nvidia 8800gt graphics card and it recognizes the 1360x768 resolution immediately, I dont why this is happening since both the laptop and desktop use similar drivers?
I have a three year old DV 9207us. Has GeForce Go 7600 video card.
I had to do a clean install of Windows Vista Home 32 bit. I installed service pack sp42635 for the nvidia driver. The highest resolution I can get is 1024 X 768. it was higher before the operating system re-install. I have uninstalled the Nvidia drivers back to the generic VGA drivers and then reinstalled the Nvidia drivers. Still max resolution is 1024 x 768 under display settings.
What am I missing to get the resolution to 1440 x 990?
A friend of mine has an HP Pavilion ze4420us laptop and seems to have a problem. When his computer starts up the screen is reduced in size so that all you can see is a 6"x6" area that's using the screen. Everything is displayed normally inside this "box". Once windows loads it's fine though.
some manufactures have a "Fn+key" or "shift+key" type of shortcut that will change an internal setting and enlarge or reduce the picture being displayed.
On the HP site the 2140 is listed to have a higher resolution screen coming soon. Does anyone know when this is? I thought it was supposed to be sometime in February, then March and now the last I read was April 1 but it looks like it's still coming soon.
Also does anyone have the extended 6 cell battery? From pictures it looks like it sticks out at a 90 degree angle to the body. When I saw it I thought it was incredibly dumb. That seems like it would affect portability a lot.
my laptop's lcd screen died 1 month after guarantee expiry. Since original LCD replacement screens are crazy expensive, I bought physically compatible lcd screen, that supports same resolution.
But I cannot get any higher resolution as 1024x768 (I've used 1400x1050 on original). I suspect there is a problem with drivers - my screen is recognized as plug and play monitor, but settings won't offer me any higher screen resolution.
I understand about accelerometers triggering the HDD to park. What I am wondering is, is that technology built into the HDD itself like the Seagate GForce Momentus HDDs, or is Protectsmart Hardware external to the HDD and located somewhere else inside the unit. The reason I am wondering is I am thinking about going up to a 7200rpm drive and I want to know if I have to get one that has the accelerometer technology built into it like the GForce Seagates do, or will any 2.5 SATA drive work with Protectsmart?
I had bought this laptop yesterday from Costco, it was pretty cheap and I loved the num pad. My problem with it is of course, Vista. I tried to run Fallout 3 on it and it only ran on Low Settings and was just unplayable with how jerky it was. I was thinking it might be better if I were running XP, at least getting me Medium settings. Anyone have this laptop or does anyone know where I could find a list of components to see if I can actually get drivers. Only a few show up on hp.com and I've already returned the laptop instead of just trying it. I should mention I know I didnt buy a gaming laptop, I just want to run a few games.
