HP Elitebook 8570p OS/Software :: Unable To Find Working AHCI Driver For Windows XP
May 7, 2014I need to find a working AHCI driver (Windows XP) for my Elitebook 8570p. I want do use both Windows 7 and XP on it but I can't install windows XP while in AHCI mode. I've tried to use the driver posted in here: [URL] ..... but that did not work for me. I just get bluescreen when I try to install, I've tried all 4 verisions of the driver but none works. I boot on the dvd and press f6 to add the driver before the installation but I need some other driver......

I looked in the control panel but there is no touchpad menu. i found on other discussion that the touchpad setting can be found in the Mouse menu on the tab "device hardware" but such Tab doesn't exist.

Oct 25, 2012HP Elitebook 8460p - is there any other way to enable the wireless on an HP laptop? I've checked the settings, bios and also made sure the wireless card installed in the laptop works. Drivers are installed correctly. When troubleshooting, it comes up with "turn on the wireless". Nothing happens when pressing the button. It stays amber.

Oct 6, 2014I just received a Elitebook 1040 G1 running win7 64-bit and have been installing all the necessary things that i'm going to need for everyday use. Out of curiosity i wanted to get the fingerprint reader set up just to have that as an option if i wanted. After installing Digital persona and the validity driver numerous times to try and troubleshoot this, my laptop still will not recognize the fingerprint reader.
Steps taken:
Uninstalled and reinstalled validity drivers multiple times
Uninstalled and reinstalled digital persona(plus updates)
Checked to see if the biometrics are in device manager and recognized by the machine;which they are

I also managed to install and find all the drivers (since it came with FreeDOS), except for the touchpad driver. The touchpad works but all the useful gestures are missing.
find the latest updated driver for my touchpad so that I can use gestures efficiently? I have a Windows 7 32bit OS. HP only provides 64bit drivers for my laptop. I'd like to keep the 32bit.

Feb 24, 2013My ageing XPS M1710 seems to be having an issue since upgrading it to Windows 8. With Windows 8, it's runs lovely, a lot quicker than other OS's, but recently the graphics card seems to be having problems.
I was unable to find a Win 8 driver for the 7950 GTX so I'm using the Nvidia 179.48 Win 7 64bit driver, in order to get the full 1920 resolution. However I seem to keep getting a problem where I get zig zag lines across the screen, sometimes blacks out and comes back with a warning that the Nvidia Vista driver stopped work and recovered.I've read various posts talking about adjusting power save options, underclocking and heat. Also noticed a post that it's more common on 64bit systems than 32 so I'm tempted to rebuild it with 32bit media rather than the 64 I could only get my hands on at the time.

The Unknown Devices program shows it as Dell and Intel Corporation.
