View 5 Replies View RelatedMy ageing XPS M1710 seems to be having an issue since upgrading it to Windows 8. With Windows 8, it's runs lovely, a lot quicker than other OS's, but recently the graphics card seems to be having problems.
I was unable to find a Win 8 driver for the 7950 GTX so I'm using the Nvidia 179.48 Win 7 64bit driver, in order to get the full 1920 resolution. However I seem to keep getting a problem where I get zig zag lines across the screen, sometimes blacks out and comes back with a warning that the Nvidia Vista driver stopped work and recovered.I've read various posts talking about adjusting power save options, underclocking and heat. Also noticed a post that it's more common on 64bit systems than 32 so I'm tempted to rebuild it with 32bit media rather than the 64 I could only get my hands on at the time.
I am unable to find the ethernet driver for the Vostro 1000 laptop. I found the wireless drivers and all other drivers for the computer.

I've tried to use the driver posted in here: [URL] ..... but that did not work for me. I just get bluescreen when I try to install, I've tried all 4 verisions of the driver but none works. After downgrading from windows 8 to windows 7 the usb slot on the right side of the laptop is working, nut the two on the left hand side are not working. Windows driver search says no driver found and unidentified ERROR.

Laptop: HP touchscreen Pavilion 15 notebook 15-n088ca with windows 8.1 (fully updated)
Router: D-Link Dual Band AC1000 2.5GHz & 5GHz bands DIR-810L
I set up the router and worked out the kinks and updated the software. My laptop finds and connects with the 2.5GHz Band anywhere in the house. My laptop does not even find or see the 5GHz Band. However my Galaxy Tablet finds both bands and can connect with both, thought the 5GHz seems weaker.
I noticed that my Galaxy Tablet finds a lot more wi fi networks than my laptop (that are in houses around the street). I believe my laptop should find the 5Ghz Band and be able to connect. So I'm hoping this is a software or driver issue, and just a setting that needs to be adjusted. I don't know much about Wi Fi drivers, but I"m a Vista survivor, so I should be able to solve this.
I don't even know what program runs the WiFi software on my laptop? Or where to find it?

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6154tx laptop. My current version of BIOS installed is Hewlett-Packard F.1B, 05/10/11.I wanted to check if my BIOS is up to date, and if there was a newer version of BIOS available.
So I went to the HP Support page for laptops (URL...) and chose Pavilion Notebooks > Models dv4000 to dv6999 > dv6000 Entertainment Notebook PC series > Matching products outside the United States.
But alas, I could not find my laptop's model listed there. There's dv6150tx and then it jumps to dv6161ea, but no dv6154tx. Is there any other way I can update my laptop's BIOS?

I searched this site and downloaded the appropriate driver for my notebook. But when i tried to install, i receive an error message that my notebook is not supported. I am unable to detect any bluetooth device in my laptop and my laptop's bluetooth also is not detecting in any other device (Say in my cell). When I tried install Broadcom bluetooth 4.0 driver software it showing error "No bluetooth device was detected. Please make sure that your bluetooth device is plugged in properly in order to continue installation". In device manager everything is perfect, i mean no undetected hardware.
