I am currently using a HP Pavilion g6 2307tx but getting really weak wifi signals in my room. Only able to get about 2-3 bars every time while my other laptop can go up to full bars.Â

But one day, I unplugged the AC adapter from my laptop and I started to experience a very weak wifi internet connection. After troubleshooting, the problem comes from my laptop. Randomly, I just plugged the AC adapter from laptop and everything was fine, I mean worked normally . But I unplugged the AC adapter the problem came back. So I wanted to know if there is a relation between the wifi connection strenght and the AC adapter/battery.

I have a compaq presario, product name "Presario C700" and p/n "FE934UA#ABA." The operating system is Windows Vista. I have internet from Comcast and the router I am using is Netgear. I recently moved to a new place and am having trouble connecting to the Wifi at home. I've had this laptop for several years now and have been able to connect to some wifi in the past, but there have been times when I haven't been able to connect to wifi in some public places. I am able to connect to the wifi on my phone and another laptop but not this one. I have tried resetting the router and numerous other steps but nothing seems to resolve the problem. Every time I try to connect, it says that the signal strength is excellent, but it is unable to identify the network and says that "the router is unavailable." I have already called my router company but they were not able to resolve the problem. The only way I can connect to the internet is using an ethernet cord.

For the second time in about nine months the notebook suddenly cannot recognize my router's WiFi signal. This time if I do a system recovery I will have to reinstall 50 apps! I am trying to avoid this if possible. I understand that changing the bios settings, how this step will affect (delete/save) files. Upgraded from WIN7 to 8 to 8.1.

I set up the router and worked out the kinks and updated the software. My laptop finds and connects with the 2.5GHz Band anywhere in the house. My laptop does not even find or see the 5GHz Band. However my Galaxy Tablet finds both bands and can connect with both, thought the 5GHz seems weaker.

I noticed that my Galaxy Tablet finds a lot more wi fi networks than my laptop (that are in houses around the street). I believe my laptop should find the 5Ghz Band and be able to connect. So I'm hoping this is a software or driver issue, and just a setting that needs to be adjusted. I don't know much about Wi Fi drivers, but I"m a Vista survivor, so I should be able to solve this.

I recently got my HP Envy 15 in the mail a few days ago and I have to say I’m very happy with it. However, I have run into some setbacks.
The most major one is the wireless. Out of the box it was only getting 180 mbps of wireless N speed, which I knew was way to slow. After digging around the device manager I found that the 2.4 ghz frequency was set to 20 mhz and not auto. After setting it to auto I got 300 mbps, much better.
But heres the big issue. While it does get 300 mbps of speed while only a few yards away from the router, once I leave my room and walk away about 40 or less feet to the dinning room, the speed takes a HUGE nose dive, getting to around 20 to 12 mpbs of wireless internet speed. However, the signal quality is ‘good or fair’, meaning 3 out of 5 green bars. When I go to the living room, about 60 feet from the router, it goes down to 1.0 mbps wireless speed, with 2 out of five bars signal quality. Sometimes however, I can’t get any speed and it disconnects...................
I got this new computer from company IT w/ Win7 on it. WiFi conection is very weak and the speed is slow while other laptop works fine at the same location. I have updated driver of intel N-7260 but there is no improvement.

I'm repreatedly (and increasingly) losing wifi connection to router - all other devices using the same wifi connection (desktop pc, nexus phone, samsung phone) all retain connection and internet access but the Pavilion keeps dropping off.
I have a Pavilion G6 - 1261sa running on windows 7, 64-bit. I cannot switch on my wifi and change the orange light. ive searched solutions for this, and most seem to be solved by installing drivers for the wifi card. and most seem to be solved by going into Device Manager / network adapters... and so on. But as I get to this stage my laptops device manager does not recognise a wifi card as being there!? I can only connect using ethernet....

Every week a problem occure: my pc can't connect to any wifi, and i can't disable the wifi card, it doesn't respond, so i have to switch off many times the pc until it begins to work again (after many times you can enter in connection menu and disable the card and then switch on it other time and then works). i suppose is a driver problem (with windows 7 this problem never appeared).

My HP Pavilion 14e016tx (win 7, 64-bit, ralink rt3290 802.11) just won't detect any WiFi connections. Sometimes it does detect but when I try to connect, it always show the failure message ("windows was unable to connect to xxxxx".

After using it for a week, I noticed that it doesn't connect automatically to wifi, and sometimes you have to wait a little longer (probably an hour) for it to connect successfully to a wifi. And if ever it gets connected, the internet access says "limited". I brought it to a servcie center, they changed the wifi card, and then I guess after using it for more than a week, the same problem occured. This is a big inconvenience on my part.

My wifi disconnects many times a day. Every other day the wifi adapter cannot find any router signals at all. It's been happeneing since new. I gave up on HP support as they never fixed ths issue and now the warranty has run out. At any rate I can get along by turning Wifi off/on when it drops connection, and rebooting the laptop when the adapter fails completely. Many posts indicate that a new adapter fixes the issue, but HP won't approve one. Naturally I am not going to buy HP again.

The Wi-Fi adapter Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 worked on windows 7, but fails on windows 8.1. Tried to find the driver on the broadcom but not found. Device Manager indicates only problem with a PCI device. Problems with the Wi-Fi adapter does not specify.Â
I am having problems with my Wifi on my HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 (Product number: D2H26EA#ABD)I updated from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and as well as  Qualcomm Atheros QCA9000 Series Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows by the suggestion of Hp support Assistance. After that started facing Wifi problems. Initially on starting laptop, Wifi get connected automatically.. But after 5-10 minutes it shows LIMITED Connectivity. After few seconds or minuts later get connection again or When I turn ON Flight mode and then OFF it, it gets back to full connection.But, after sometime it goes back to LIMITED.  This keeps on happening.I've tried installing various versions of Broadcom & Intel WLAN Adapter Drivers!. I phoned Microsoft Support and was told that my wifi driver was out of date and that this needs to reinstalled. I have had a look at available downloads for network drivers but I am unsure how to establish which one I need.... there are 4 options.

Under Device Manager > Network Adapters, there was only one driver which needed update according to this. The Realtek PCle  FE Family Controller. When I checked for updates here is said that it had updated successfully, but I am STILL unable to connect to the internet.
My pavilion g6 laptop's wifi adapter hasn't been working correcty recently. my internet router and networks are running fine as  they should be, but every time i reboot my laptop, it keeps saying that there is no connection and no other wifi netowrks, when there clearly is other networks because of my  surrounding neighbours.
