I got this new computer from company IT w/ Win7 on it. WiFi conection is very weak and the speed is slow while other laptop works fine at the same location. I have updated driver of intel N-7260 but there is no improvement.
View 11 RepliesI've just reinstalled win7 Ultimate on my 7720 (09/2012) and have 2 problems: My BT mouse (Dicota BlueLight) stops working after a few minutes, and I have to remove it, and re-pair it several times before it will actually work. Each time I pair it I'm told it's working fine, and the driver is correct, but nothing happens. Ocassionally it will actually work, but only for 3-4 minutes before simply stopping again. The Bluetooth radio is showing as Generic Bluetooth Adapter in Device Manager.Also, in Device Manager I have  a USB controller showing no Driver (Location: PCI bus 0, device 20, function 0) and I cannot find an appropriate solution anywhere.

The wireless can be turned on just fine and has no trouble finding available networks. No problem here. But when I try to connect to one it rarely works, and the few times were it does connect, the internet is incredibly slow. I would say it works flawlessly and fast about 10% of the time. The rest of the time it's like I just explained; it either won't connect or is too slow.Â

I don't know what suddenly caused this, since it worked perfectly when I bought it. Updating the wireless card drivers didn't work.
I'm really trying to like my new Acer 1410. Everything was working great until I tried to connect thru the wifi. Turned out the connection was really weak. This is in my house where all my other laptops have had no problem connecting.
So I try for a couple of hours trying every setting possible on my router and on my laptop settings. Finally, I open up the bottom of my laptop and find out the black wire that goes to the Intel Wireless card isn't even connected! In fact the metal connector itself is missing entirely
So me not knowing much about electronics, I cut off a 2 inch wire (with connector) from my old laptop's wireless card and taped it to the new laptop's open black wire. Plug it in and now the signal is better, but it still sucks. Any advice anyone? I really would rather fix it myself if I can. Would it work better if I solder the two wires together? Or is the Intel 5100 a POS and nothing is going to help it?
I've bought a Vostro 5470 couple days ago.After installing Windows 8.1 64-bit and all drivers listed in 5470 driver's page, everything is working fine except the Nvidia GT 740M. I tried many versions of driver including those from Geforce official site but none of them worked. When I tried to open the Nvidia control panel, it said something like "You are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU"
Only Intel HD Graphic is currently working now.
i have a Dell Vostro 5470. My touch screen has not been working for more than a month. It suddenly stopped working. I have tried search for fixes, but nothing has showed up. I have the update from 06/2006 for the HID-compliant touch screen and for HID-compliant vendor-defined device.Â

I recently got my HP Envy 15 in the mail a few days ago and I have to say I’m very happy with it. However, I have run into some setbacks.
The most major one is the wireless. Out of the box it was only getting 180 mbps of wireless N speed, which I knew was way to slow. After digging around the device manager I found that the 2.4 ghz frequency was set to 20 mhz and not auto. After setting it to auto I got 300 mbps, much better.
But heres the big issue. While it does get 300 mbps of speed while only a few yards away from the router, once I leave my room and walk away about 40 or less feet to the dinning room, the speed takes a HUGE nose dive, getting to around 20 to 12 mpbs of wireless internet speed. However, the signal quality is ‘good or fair’, meaning 3 out of 5 green bars. When I go to the living room, about 60 feet from the router, it goes down to 1.0 mbps wireless speed, with 2 out of five bars signal quality. Sometimes however, I can’t get any speed and it disconnects...................

I hate the auto-adjustment of screen backlight according to the brightness of the background, so I googled and knew that I can disable Dell Intelligent Display to avoid it. The problem is, even I unchecked the Dell Intelligent Display in Dell's battery settings, the auto-adjustment kept going on.
I sought through the battery settings of windows and dell but none of them could kill the auto-adjustment. Is there any other way to kill it? It's really a stupid design that dims backlight when looking at BLACK pages. It's all black....

The laptop has a SSD of 128GB installed. I know that GPT hard drives require several partitions (to be specific, I know only about ESP, MSR and data partitions only) - but 7? My data partition has only 99GB available. That surely isn't a lot.
I know that some sort of Intel recovery is installed, and I know that the Dell diagnostics is installed somewhere too.

But one day, I unplugged the AC adapter from my laptop and I started to experience a very weak wifi internet connection. After troubleshooting, the problem comes from my laptop. Randomly, I just plugged the AC adapter from laptop and everything was fine, I mean worked normally . The problem is all my key fn function work but the enable/disable Touchpad doesn't work.
And I don't see any option to customize my Touchpad.
Only left click, right click, moving pointer are working, but scrolling doesn't work.

I'm having trouble with my wifi connection on my SXPS 16 with the Intel Wifi 5300 card.
I will be downloading something then at random times it looses connectivity and i will have to turn off my wifi and turn it back on then it works for a couple minutes and stops working once again.
I tried a quick search but didn't come up with anything...
On my e6400, once in a while the wifi connection is intermittent and drops out for 10-15 seconds, comes back for a while, then drops out again. This doesn't happen all of the time, but is happening now as I type this out with it on my lap.
I'll admit I haven't really tried to diagnose. This has the following wifi card:

I am getting intermittently dropped wifi connection. Â It is a new/nearly new xps 12 convertible from the Dell outlet store a couple of months ago. Â I have installed all windows updates including win 8.1. Â My network adapter is an Intel Dual band wireless AC-7260 #2. Â I searched on the intel site using the auto driver function and it cannot find any new drivers there for it.
I have also set the wifi adapter to "maximum performance" whether on battery or plugged in and it happens anyway (even when plugged into AC).Is there anything I can do for this or does a technician need to replace the wifi card (or do I need to RMA the notebook)?
Our Insprion 15 laptop initially dropped its WiFi connection (showed "No Internet Access") about 3-4 times when it was first turned on. It hasn''t happened since (3 days in use). Was this just normal - while looking for the right version of 801.1 or what?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI reinstalled Vista 64-bit Business on my laptop. And I've installed all of the drivers which are working, but my wifi drops out every 20-30 minutes. I've done some research and found this isn't uncommon...
so I installed the lastest Intel drivers, disabled all of the power saving features on my wifi card/DCP.
But, it still disconnects! What the heck!? I might have had this same issue in Windows 7, but I can't really remember. All I know is that when I tried to back it up using WHS, it would always fail.

I'm repreatedly (and increasingly) losing wifi connection to router - all other devices using the same wifi connection (desktop pc, nexus phone, samsung phone) all retain connection and internet access but the Pavilion keeps dropping off.
I have an hp envy m6 laptop. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been having issues with this with this utility either not connecting upon resuming my laptop or even from a fresh start. I visit many offices at I am the IT manger and all the connections are saved in profiles but despite them being saved they won't connect even when I try to connect manually. The only way to get the adapter to connect is to right click Proset running in the tray and click "reset proset". Even now while typing this I am connected via wifi but the proset icon shows "connecting"
I've tried updating the wifi adapter drivers from Dell and Intel directly and also completely removed the drivers and re-installed them but I am still having the same issue.

Running two Toshiba 32L2300U 32" tv's that have VGA connections. Â Since the eport only has one VGA connection the other is connected with a DisplayPort to VGA adapter.
I need to work from home on two monitors, not the laptop in a dock with the lid open and one TV screen. (Internet is restored when I open the lid as it's in the dock but only one monitor works.
