I wanted to upgrade my wireless NIC but upon power up, error 105 appears - network device not supported
The original one I have is the broadcom wifi + bluetooth combo card, and I am intending to use an Intel card with 802.11ac capability and also has bluetooth onboard. Its also 2x2 so original the antenna connectors snap right in
I am on the latest firmware F15
Is there any way I can install this other NIC ??
I am having trouble with my wireless button, it remains red/orange despite touching it and restarting my laptop several times. My laptop is an HP Pavilion DV7=1135NR, it is originally installed with Windows Vista 64bit. However, i have it reformatted and change the OS to Windows7 Ultimate (32bit). And now i the wireless button wont turn blue. And also the wireless button located in the taskbar is no longer there.
Some additional background: The same problem (wireless wont turn blue) had been recurring before i had it reformatted but then i seek assistance then to HP customer assistant, and installed atheros. the problem had fixed for a while and the same problem would recur. However, i can turn it blue once i restart the laptop or when the "WLAN disabled" message would appear in the task bar and i would immediately touch the wireless button.
i tried downloading a driver from HP but still not working. right now i am connected via ethernet cable and its such an incovenience.
I was connected to the internet through my WiFi connection but suddenly the PC restarted after which Windows wasn't showing any wireless networks (see image 3). When I went inside PC settings, it displayed a message (see image 1) that there no wireless devices on this PC. Even in the taskbar instead of the WiFi icon, the LAN icon is displayed. And under PC Settings/Connection, only Ethernet and VPN options are displayed (no wireless connections).I do not know what went wrong. Is there some external switch to turn on the network adapter?

In image 1, now Bluetooth device is shown after auto install of an HP update, but no WiFi networks.
I have a XPS Gen2 which has a internal 54Mbit wireless card. Does anyone know if I can upgrade that internal card to draft-N or do I have to buy a PC-CARD to be able to get faster wireless?

I have a Dell XPS 1330, with a Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG adapter installed (as part of teh orginal build by Dell). The processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 2.00GHz Level 6 Revision 3853.
I have recently upgraded my home Wireless Router to a Netgear WNDR 3700, which is Draft N and Dual Band. I would now like to upgrade the adapter in my XPS1330 to take advantage of the N draft and Dual Band router.
Is this possible? If so, what new wireless card would you recommend which will be compatable with 1330.
Right now I have a Intel Pro 2200 wireless card. It only has wireless B. I can get a 3945 card for $12.50 shipped that has wireless G and B, or an Atheros card. I'm not sure what the whole wireless "N" thing is, so maybe someone could fill me in on that. Right now I only need the "G" capabilities as far as as I know. Is the Intel Pro 3945 the best bang for the buck? I see theres also a a 4945, but its almost double the price of the 3945. And as I mentioned above, I see Atheros cards, but I'm not sure how good they are. Do they have better wireless pick-up then the actual Intel cards?

I want a very fast processor, so initially i was going to get the Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor T9550 (2.66 GHz). However, i did some research and i found that the P series processors are more efficient than the older T series, thus using less power and have a faster FSB. The next fastest P series processor you can get with the DV3T is the Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53GHz). I went on Intel's website, and if I read correctly, the P8700 and the T9550 are both 45nm, and have the same FSB (1066Mhz). However, the P8700 has 3mb L2 cache, and the T9550 has 6mb L2 cache.

I just got my DV3T. I noticed that the cooling pad I currently have will not work with this laptop since it sucks air from under the laptop, while the DV3T sucks the air from under the laptop and blows it out the side.
So are there any cooling pads that work well with the DV3T? Ones that blow air from the bottom to the top?
