Everytime I try to start up my laptop it always shows the menu screen saying Launch Start Up Repair or Start Windows Normally. I've tried to do a system restore multiple times, but the screen just stops on a blue screen. No it isn't the Blue Screen of Death, but it does attempt to start but fails and stands on the screen until it automatically or manually shuts down.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 that won't start up-- black screen and I've tried a hard reset and that didn't work. It does beep If I take the memory out. But the fan, the wireles, mute, and caps lock lights are the only thing that work.

I'm having problems with my laptop (HP Pavilion dv4 1428dx) the last thing I did was put it to sleep, then cameback and tried to wake it up but it would not start up. All the lights are on, but the screen is black and the only thing I hear is the fan moving. The caps lock and num lock keys have a blinking light, not really sure what that means. The power LED is on, the battery LED is on, but the hard drive LED is not on.

A week ago it overheated(again), and after that it hasnt started anymore. I press the power button, i see caps light once or twice(yes indeed, when starting it might show once and then next time twice and so on..). startup goes like this: first there will come normally that screen where reads "press ESC to startup menu", hten screen goes black and it should open windows but it doesnt. Instead it makes an restart and does that all the time. Ive ran all diagnostics and those are just saying passed to everything. I have also tried "hard reset" but that has no effect. Also F11 in startup(system recovery) doesnt work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have HP Pavilion g6-2288sx Notebook PC. It has core i3 processor with 4gb ram.
My problem is that my laptop suddenly powers off while running, not hibernating - total shutdown without any error or warning or anything. It just goes blank and dont turn on again until i connect it with its charger. Low battery is not the problem cause it doesnt give low battery error even battery sign shows that i have enough battery to work about next 30 mins.
I updated BIOS (it's now Hewlett-Packard F.49) with a download from HP's website. I wish I hadn't done that because it made my laptop ill. When booting up it freezes and the only thing I see is the black screen with HP logo. No button works.
Later I've found out that BIOS itself ain't the problem (I tried to recover the old version for long without any success), it's the USB devices attached or the USB ports, dunno. My laptop boots normally and works perfectly if I take off all the USB plug-ins before I press the power button. After the black screen has passed I can plug in the USBs and they work too.URL....
I have had my Pavilion dv8 for a few months now. A month or two after I received it, I began experiencing problems with the slider treble/bass control. It would sporadically pop up and start changing the treble or bass at random intervals. It also randomly disconnected me from my wireless connection. I thought this might just have something to do with the slider being dirty, but after several attempts of cleaning it, it still remains a problem. At first it was just a little annoying, fixed by clicking the mouse or pressing the top internet button, but now it's REALLY annoying, even popping up as I write this post. Is "slider thing" the right term?

No software or hardware modification/installation or anything was done in the past week. Also computer had no internet access for the past week so i doubt it can be a virus.

My HP envy dv7 laptop stopped and it won't start again. It happened while I was watching some cartoons on youtube. I tried to do a hard reset but it didn't work.
The laptop was running on AC at that moment.
It didn't show any errors which could predict an defect. The only thing that was a little strange was that it requested permission to update java everyday, sometimes even 2 times per day. And especially when I was watching movies fullscreen offline or online. But I thought that Oracle is doing a lot of updates.
Does it have a fuse which can be checked?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had a HP Envy 15 touchsmart laptop (Windows 8 originally, windows 8.1 now) for about 2 months now and haven't had any problems, till a few hours ago i attempted to update the bios of my laptop using the hp support assistant. After the restart, the pc would no longer start up and took me to a blue screen with the error message SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. Everything I have done so far short of a refresh or reset has not worked and if i could I would like to avoid both as I do not have the bandwith to go download windows 8.1 again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI try to boot my pc but get the error code 0xc000021a, then it restarts and says preparing automatic repair, then the same BSOD error pops up and the cycle continues. I've tried just about every 'fix' I could find on the internet. I purchased this computer with windows 8 pre-installed, I do not have a windows 8 repair DVD.
Upon further research I've been lead to believe it has something to do with winlogon.exe or csrss.exe, which makes sense, seeing as I cannot even log on to my computer. Other forums suggest it could be caused by 3rd party software.
As far as I can see, all I can do is access the BIOS. I have no files that can't be easily replaced so even if I could somehow factory reset it that would be great, though I'm not sure if that will fix anything or is even possible in my current position.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was about to do a factory restore on my computer later in the day, but i was unlucky that the computer stopped working When i turn it on it continuously beeps and won`t turn on, i have picked the option to `start windows normally` and even the option that checks/diagnoses the files (to fix the problem not letting me startup) but when it says `loading files` it starts beeping again and the process stops..
I also read that it `could` be a problem with the RAM, but maybe that was for a different problem or so, but if it is a problem with the RAM, then how can i fix it?
