My pavillion g6 keeps crashes whenever I try to turn it on. It'll go through the start up process but crashes just before reaching the start screen and go blank.

I'm more of a desktop user but my husband gave me this laptop on January 2007. Since then, I think I only used it for less than 20 hours (we don't have a wireless)... when we got out of town.
The last time I used it, about a year ago, it turned off by itself. I tried to use it again when I got home but the screen is just blank whenever I turn it on. What could be the problem? I don't think it's a good idea to send it for repair to HP as the warranty expired already.
when I turn it on, all the blue lights turn on... but the screen won't therefore I can't use it. Ealier, I hooked up an external monitor but didn't work. Could it be an LCD problem?
The notebook doesn't have any scratch or whatsoever. It still looks like new, yet not working.
The latest Microsoft update package downloaded 8/31 left me with an unusable laptop. The screen goes blank after entering the sign-in code. The sign-in code has been verified with an alternate computer and is verified as good. How can I get past this point and have windows 8 show up??
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavilion g4-2149se Notebook running Windows 7.For the past 2 weeks almost, whenever I start my computer, before getting the Windows welcome screen, I get a lingering blank screen with a cursor. Then, it'll finally get to the welcome screen, but before it loads my desktop, I'll get another lingering blank screen with a cursor. Honestly, I'm grateful that my computer is still starting up at all... But is there any way to fix the lingering blank screens? It's making me nervous.I've looked around the web for a solution for days, and anything I could find I've tried, but nothing has worked. I uninstalled all recent Windows updates, hoping one of them had went wrong, but no luck I scanned for virus' and malware and found nothing. I've only downloaded one program since I noticed the problem began (4K Video Downloader), though the program doesn't seem to be a problem.

i searched for this error and most results was meeting my thoughts that the cause for this error is the touch pad driver .

I'm having problems with my laptop (HP Pavilion dv4 1428dx) the last thing I did was put it to sleep, then cameback and tried to wake it up but it would not start up. All the lights are on, but the screen is black and the only thing I hear is the fan moving. The caps lock and num lock keys have a blinking light, not really sure what that means. The power LED is on, the battery LED is on, but the hard drive LED is not on.

Everytime I try to start up my laptop it always shows the menu screen saying Launch Start Up Repair or Start Windows Normally. I've tried to do a system restore multiple times, but the screen just stops on a blue screen. No it isn't the Blue Screen of Death, but it does attempt to start but fails and stands on the screen until it automatically or manually shuts down.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was about to do a factory restore on my computer later in the day, but i was unlucky that the computer stopped working When i turn it on it continuously beeps and won`t turn on, i have picked the option to `start windows normally` and even the option that checks/diagnoses the files (to fix the problem not letting me startup) but when it says `loading files` it starts beeping again and the process stops..
I also read that it `could` be a problem with the RAM, but maybe that was for a different problem or so, but if it is a problem with the RAM, then how can i fix it?

My computer starts and runs through the welcome screen but then goes blank. The screen is backlit, and the mouse is there and I can move it, but screen is black. I shut down the computer last night and I think I closed it before it was done with its business. Opened it this am and was blank.
I have removed the battery and I think I have followed the hard reset appropriately, but I have seen 2 different instructions one in a forum and one in HP support page, so I am not positive.
This computer was purchased only a few months ago and this is pretty ridiculous, right?
I have an HP G32-205TX notebook...I had a problem which was the device would loop on start without showing the start up post or HP logo.

I watched a movie on Thursday evening and closed the lid of my acer aspire E531 laptop. (Chosen shut down method) I wanted to resume working about 2 hours later and was greeted by only a grey screen. Machine powers up but then just the blank screen. After switching on, the fan starts for about 30 seconds and then stops and then the blank (grey like screen)
I've tried some solutions posted on internet ( remove battery and hold power button; press ctr alt del twice; press F8 on start up) Nothing worked. The remove battery solution ignited some response from the machine, i.e. grey screen seemed to turn white with feint blocks in background almost checkered blocks, but very very feint.

Its only 1 month old.since 2days ago everytime i try to turn it on all i get is a blank screen with audio of 7 beeps a pause then 7 more and so on. I have read a few posts about taking the battery out and pressing the power button for 30 secs and also trying with just the ac power, I don't think this works for my problem. After the updates, I can't do anything except turn on the computer, see the HP page, the green log in with password page, then all goes dark blue and freezes. It will not even rcognize the keyboard to back out. It is an HP Envy 20 all in one desktop. I have removed the back, all looks good, everything is secured and in place.

A week ago it overheated(again), and after that it hasnt started anymore. I press the power button, i see caps light once or twice(yes indeed, when starting it might show once and then next time twice and so on..). startup goes like this: first there will come normally that screen where reads "press ESC to startup menu", hten screen goes black and it should open windows but it doesnt. Instead it makes an restart and does that all the time. Ive ran all diagnostics and those are just saying passed to everything. I have also tried "hard reset" but that has no effect. Also F11 in startup(system recovery) doesnt work.

I have attempted to press F12 to try and load windows in safe mode but everything is frozen at this point.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my Pavilion dv8 for a few months now. A month or two after I received it, I began experiencing problems with the slider treble/bass control. It would sporadically pop up and start changing the treble or bass at random intervals. It also randomly disconnected me from my wireless connection. I thought this might just have something to do with the slider being dirty, but after several attempts of cleaning it, it still remains a problem. At first it was just a little annoying, fixed by clicking the mouse or pressing the top internet button, but now it's REALLY annoying, even popping up as I write this post. Is "slider thing" the right term?
