Jan 8, 2015My Pavilion tx2000 doesn't open when i turn it on. And when I try system recovery options, it says that my password is incorrect and that it has been disbled.

Apr 5, 2014I cant open my hp pavilion dv6. I've set a password but I don't know why it doesn't work.. I've tried to click f11 and system recovery it shows restore your computer to the out of the box and choose between backup files first or recover without backing up your files before it proceed..what will i do..? I am afraid that ill lose all my files.

Jul 31, 2014ive had my computer for years(warranty has expired) and it has worked very fine except it has been always very prone to overheat. A week ago it overheated(again), and after that it hasnt started anymore. I press the power button, i see caps light once or twice(yes indeed, when starting it might show once and then next time twice and so on..). startup goes like this: first there will come normally that screen where reads "press ESC to startup menu", hten screen goes black and it should open windows but it doesnt. Instead it makes an restart and does that all the time. Ive ran all diagnostics and those are just saying passed to everything. I have also tried "hard reset" but that has no effect. Also F11 in startup(system recovery) doesnt work.

It was working fine today until I had to charge it. When it was fully charged, I turned it on and the screen just froze. I tried shutting it down by pressing the power button but it didn't work. Now, the screen's just black but the power button's lit up (meaning it's turned on). What do I do?

May 23, 2009My friend's macbook (white plastic, 2.0, napa/core2 before santa rosa platform) isn't starting, and I have no idea why. He initially asked me to replace the top and bottom casing. I accepted, and ordered the parts. Around the time they were supposed to come, I took the computer apart completely (required for the repair), but one of the parts was delayed, so the computer sat splayed on my desk for a week. I didn't exactly stack textbooks on it, but it also wasn't covered in anti-static wrap. So, now, I finally got the part and put it back together, and the computer doesn't start. At all. The screen doesn't go grey, the 'sleep' light doesn't turn on, the fan doesn't start - nothing. The magsafe light is green, so the power is going in. It's also worth noting that I have no battery for it, so it's all on A/C.
Does anyone know what's wrong? My two hypothetical solutions are (a) I need a battery, or (b) the logic board is dead due to static.
How likely are each of these scenarios - especially the logic board one? How possible is it that it was static overloaded?

Nov 22, 2012I am having HP Pavilion DV6 6140Tx . Installed Windows 8 Enterprise Edition and updated drivers using drivers for Windows 7 64x from HP site
The problem is that, when i shutdown my laptop, it doesnt shutsdown, it turns off the screen, but not the processor, fan, touchpad, the light and fan movement is ON and it never shuts down. Then I have forcibly press n hold the Power button to shut it down !
It also has a delayed Startup issue! But Restart function just works fine..!
I don't graphics drivers installed on the system - its AMD ATI RADEON 6700M HD - no compatible drivers available !

Jan 5, 2014It is a XPS 15 9530 and when set to sleep when the lid is closed the unit will not wake when the lid is opened. If I then press the power button it lights up and I hear a faint sound for about 20 sec (fan, disk, nothing weird) and then the sound stops. I never see anything on the screen. If I press the power button, again, then it says the PC wasn't shutdown correctly. Next, it runs some diagnostics for about 10 seconds and then it starts normally.

Every time I boot it up, I see the Hp logo appear and then go away after a few seconds like usual but instead of seeing the Windows logo, theres just a blank black screen command prompt and nothing happens at all. I did a self hard drive test and memory test in bios and they both passed. I tried going into the system recovery option on startup and it does the same as when I start it up and go to that blank command prompt.

Mar 17, 2010I'm running windows 7 64bit, I got a new RGBLED screen as a replacement mid last week. Now I just realized that when I close the lid the screen isn't turning off. I've went through all of the power options and set it to "Do nothing" when closing the lid and that, for every single laptop I've owned has made the screen to shut off when closed. If I let it idle it'll dim and then shut down like it normally would during windows use. Is there a quickfix or some sort of driver needed?
Also grabbed a 9cell battery from a parts sort locally, couldn't believe they had a 9cell for $30! This thing looks brand new, but I'm suspicious that it might be some chinese fake, how can I determine if it's real? It only have 1.0% of wear on it according to HWiNFO32.

Jan 6, 2015My laptop doesnt want to turn on at all while pressing the power switch. When this problem occured, i dont know how the laptop automatically powered on without me touching it. THe second time it turned on, i tried to pressed the power button, the laptop didnt go to sleep mode, which is supposed to happen normally. I tried holding the switch for more than 10 seconds, it didnt powered off. When i hit restart from the charm bar, the laptop shuts down and turns back on without problem.. But then i hit the shutdown, it turned off... But, i cant get it back on, i even tried holding it for a minute. I even took the battery out, tried it with the AC, but no luck..
