HP Lockups :: Envy Dv7 Stopped And Won't Start Again
Jan 17, 2013
My HP envy dv7 laptop stopped and it won't start again. It happened while I was watching some cartoons on youtube. I tried to do a hard reset but it didn't work.
The laptop was running on AC at that moment.
It didn't show any errors which could predict an defect. The only thing that was a little strange was that it requested permission to update java everyday, sometimes even 2 times per day. And especially when I was watching movies fullscreen offline or online. But I thought that Oracle is doing a lot of updates.
I just get to a screen showing the HP logo...the computer tries to self diagnose but never gets anywhere. Just stays locked. I've had this computer for almost a year with zero issue. Suddenly this.
I've had a HP Envy 15 touchsmart laptop (Windows 8 originally, windows 8.1 now) for about 2 months now and haven't had any problems, till a few hours ago i attempted to update the bios of my laptop using the hp support assistant. After the restart, the pc would no longer start up and took me to a blue screen with the error message SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. Everything I have done so far short of a refresh or reset has not worked and if i could I would like to avoid both as I do not have the bandwith to go download windows 8.1 again.
I have a HP Windows 8.1 laptop that now started to freeze at start up. It freezes when it gets to the waiting screen and i don't know what I should do... I have important files I can't afford to loose.
I'm having this extremely annoying problem with my HP Pavilion dv6-model1334us. Everytime I try to start up my laptop it always shows the menu screen saying Launch Start Up Repair or Start Windows Normally. I've tried to do a system restore multiple times, but the screen just stops on a blue screen. No it isn't the Blue Screen of Death, but it does attempt to start but fails and stands on the screen until it automatically or manually shuts down.
My laptop HP pavilion G6 1330ee Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit shows the following message: The system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly. Continued operation is not recommended and may cause unpredictable behaviour that could result in random shutdown, data loss or possible system damage. The system will shutdown in 15 seconds. To prevent shutdown and continue operation please press the enter key now. System Fan (90B) Enter-Continue startup For more information, please visit: [URL]
I upgraded my laptop from home basic 64 bit to ultimate 64-bit then I reinstalled the windows 7 ultimate 64-bit because i want a clean windows 7 ( first upgrade was from Windows Upgrade the second one from the internet ).I always clean my laptop from dust and it never get overheated because I use cooling pad with 3 fans. I gave my friend to check my laptop he works in pc's he said that my laptop looks like new and i don't have a fan problem he suggest to Re-Install windows 7 from HP ( that came with hp products ) or do i hard rest to my hardware. My warranty fishined a month ago, and I take care of my laptop very well. I know my laptop will not get any damaged because i use cooling pads.
Windows + BIOS + HP Products + Drivers all of them updated to the latest update
I have a hp pavilion g7, operating with windows 7As of this evening, my laptop is failing to start up and freezes on the 'starting up' page display. After doing several of the recommended options, I ran the start up test which has failed.
The display screen reads-Memory test: passedSmart check: passedShort dst: failedFailure id: GU6E00-63479L-MFPX01-60TP03Product id: A7A44UANBAHard disk 1Start up test: failed
i have hp pavilion g4 notebook pc model g4-2308tx i have a problem with fan internal, and if i turn on the laptop i get the notice about error fan (909) so what can i do for solve the problem about the fan internal?
I have a HP Pavilion dv6 that won't start up-- black screen and I've tried a hard reset and that didn't work. It does beep If I take the memory out. But the fan, the wireles, mute, and caps lock lights are the only thing that work.
My HP G series laptop is unable to start-up as it keeps saying 'Enter Administrator Password or Power On Password'. There is a system disable 58949897.
i've frequantly had this problem , when i start my laptop ( hp pavilion 15n021se ) on the lock screen when i'm going to click to enter my password , just after moving mouse cruser i get the blue screen saying that the error is " invalid process attachment attempt "
i searched for this error and most results was meeting my thoughts that the cause for this error is the touch pad driver .
i've installed the latest version of the driver (sp64225) , and it doesn't suitable for my windows so i want a previous version of the driver
Last night my laptop was working perfectly and then when I tried to turn the computer on, it loaded and went to the startup screen with the Microsoft logo and from there it got stuck. I tried to hit F11 but no satisfactory result. I've also tried to take the battery out, but that didn't work either. I also tried to Setup my windows bt it also stuck up there. I don't know what to do...I also ran tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory (Esc>> F10>> File>>System Diagnostics>>Memory tese/Hard Disk test). And the result was:Hard Disk Check: "Quick Check: SMART Check: NOT AVAILABLE and Short DST: WARNING" and "Extensive Check: PASSED in everything"Memory Check: PASSED now what should i do?Mine model is HP ProBook 4440s...Currently running on Windows 7.
I'm having problems with my laptop (HP Pavilion dv4 1428dx) the last thing I did was put it to sleep, then cameback and tried to wake it up but it would not start up. All the lights are on, but the screen is black and the only thing I hear is the fan moving. The caps lock and num lock keys have a blinking light, not really sure what that means. The power LED is on, the battery LED is on, but the hard drive LED is not on.
ive had my computer for years(warranty has expired) and it has worked very fine except it has been always very prone to overheat. A week ago it overheated(again), and after that it hasnt started anymore. I press the power button, i see caps light once or twice(yes indeed, when starting it might show once and then next time twice and so on..). startup goes like this: first there will come normally that screen where reads "press ESC to startup menu", hten screen goes black and it should open windows but it doesnt. Instead it makes an restart and does that all the time. Ive ran all diagnostics and those are just saying passed to everything. I have also tried "hard reset" but that has no effect. Also F11 in startup(system recovery) doesnt work.
My pavillion g6 keeps crashes whenever I try to turn it on. It'll go through the start up process but crashes just before reaching the start screen and go blank.
I bought an HP Pavilion G6 series laptop (LX273EA#ABU) last year and it has stopped loading properly. When I click on 'Repair (recommended)' I get an error messaqe saying 'REM couldn't detect 2 HDDs'. I have tried starting in safe mode and it won't work.
My HP Pavilion notebook series G7-1135sd will not start. I get no response from the on switch. Some lights do come on but the screen does not light up. I have tried holding down the on switch for longer periods - without success. I have tried taking out the battery - also no success.
After putting the power on, nothing happen. It gives some kind of blue background. But it's not the critical error blue screen. It's some kind of windows-bitmap.
Using Esc and F2 I could do a System Test. The Short DST (don't know what that means...) says: FAILED.....
It gives details on the FAILURE ID : 64SP28-5HB7AC-XD003F-60VF03.... What should I do next?
The notebook is a HP, model DV6-3160SD, Running W7 on it. Don't know the bit-version (and can not check it).....
I have an HP envy m6 1178sa and recently the sound stopped playing. Uninstalled the sound software and downloaded a new one and it was working fine...but then after the laptop is off( because of low battery), when I put the laptop on again, there is no sound.
I was about to do a factory restore on my computer later in the day, but i was unlucky that the computer stopped working When i turn it on it continuously beeps and won`t turn on, i have picked the option to `start windows normally` and even the option that checks/diagnoses the files (to fix the problem not letting me startup) but when it says `loading files` it starts beeping again and the process stops..
I also read that it `could` be a problem with the RAM, but maybe that was for a different problem or so, but if it is a problem with the RAM, then how can i fix it?
Computer is a year old. Windows 8. If i reset the computer the sound will come on for as long as im using it, but the second i walk away and come back its off and not working.
The sound on my hp envy 15-3040nr just stopped working. I have reinstalled the sound drivers, checked to see if the speakers were disabled in the device manager, and used the troubleshooting tool in system and security. None of these have worked. Sound also doesn't work with headphones.
My webcam stopped working all of a sudden. I have HP ENVY dv6-7258nr Notebook PC with Windows 8. The camera app says "Connect a camera." and the device manager does not show "Imaging Devices". Instead there is "Other Devices" which has a subcategory of "Unknown Devices" with a yellow mark.
I have updated, reinstalled cyberlink youcam drivers, tried system restore (which does not complete saying i have an anti virus open when i don't have any antivirus on my notebook) but nothing works. Scanning for hardware does not bring up any thing. I have also followed the instructions given on hp site and opened the youcam software but it does not detect the camera.
I purchased an Envy 15-J108la notebook about a month ago (Windows 8.1 64). I also bought a Microsoft bluetooth mouse to use with it.
First I noticed mouse stoped working randomly, maybe 2 times a day. Sometimes it was enough to turn it off and on again to recover it, but sometimes I had to reboot.
I updated the bluetooth driver (Intel Bluetooth 4.0 Driver, 2014-01-18, Version 3.1), problem persisted but seemed to occur less frequently.
Today after installing an update for the wireless adapter the device manager reported that the Intel Bluetooth 4.0 device was faulting. Tried to dissable and re-enable but the device simply dissapeared. Now device manager reports a "Unknown USB device" with error 43, and bluetoth devices are not detected, no matter how many times I reboot.
Laptop is only 9 months old. I did all of the updates and then my touchscreen stopped working - that was 4 days ago. Today I did a system restore to the point before the 1st critical update (9/24/14). It still does not work. Did it corrupt my driver? And if so, what is the name of the driver? How can I restore the touch screen...

I have a one year old HP Envy M6 and it has just recently began acting up. It will not come out of sleep mode when I jiggle the mouse or press keys on the keyboard. Also, instead of going in to sleep mode, it seems to switch to hibernate. Sometimes I can press the power key lightly and it seems to do a shorter startup (my browser will ask if I want to "restore" the previous session, the documents are saved in a temp file, but still the HP logo appears as it is booting up). Other times the power light is already on, but it won't wake up at all and so I have to do a hard reboot by pressing the power button until it shuts itself off and restarts.
I have had my ENVY 6-1040ca for the past 2 year now, and suddenly my laptop started to overheat. After I started getting an error on my laptop every time I started my laptop I got System Fan (90b) error message on start-up.
First I thought it was dust that was clogging the fan so I cleaned it with the air compressed can. I tired that and still did not work. So I got curious and opened my laptop to see why the fan was not working. It turned out that the fan would start then stop start and keep doing that. Even when running a game (or any other high performance application) it would still do that.
