Jun 6, 2013
I want to upgrade my hp pavilion dv6 6140 tx (Product no-QC339PA#ACJ) to windows 8 from windows 7. I surfed through the hp site and found out that windows 8 driver for my laptop is not yet available. Its really sad to find out that HP is not providing windows 8 drivers for such a high end configured laptop. how can i get windows 8 drivers for my laptop
I am having HP Pavilion DV6 6140Tx . Installed Windows 8 Enterprise Edition and updated drivers using drivers for Windows 7 64x from HP site
The problem is that, when i shutdown my laptop, it doesnt shutsdown, it turns off the screen, but not the processor, fan, touchpad, the light and fan movement is ON and it never shuts down. Then I have forcibly press n hold the Power button to shut it down !
It also has a delayed Startup issue! But Restart function just works fine..!
I don't graphics drivers installed on the system - its AMD ATI RADEON 6700M HD - no compatible drivers available !
I have hp pavilion g6 notebook pc..so i installed winds 8 core by iso and activated by wind activator...CAN I UPGRADE MY WNDS 8 TO WNDS 8.1 ???Does its support become unstable ...???
I have HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC and BLUETOOTH DOESNOT WORK EVEN its column on change pc stting > pc and devices disappeared ... All this happen after update from WINDOWS 8 TO WINDOWS 8.1 ....
i tried both windows 7 &8 drivers but it didnot work.after restarting wifi is not working or when it has gone to sleep and after resuming from sleep wifi is not switching on.i installed hp wireless button service also,it shows only airplane mode on/off.so no use with that.so please update correct drivers of broadcom combo adapter(wifi+bluetooth).
There is no web page for support on Pavilion g6 2214so. How is this possible? Google can find the page.... if searching but HP displays as page cannot be found.
Need drivers as the Notebook crashes when upgrading to Windows 8.1...
I am having trouble with my wireless button, it remains red/orange despite touching it and restarting my laptop several times. My laptop is an HP Pavilion DV7=1135NR, it is originally installed with Windows Vista 64bit. However, i have it reformatted and change the OS to Windows7 Ultimate (32bit). And now i the wireless button wont turn blue. And also the wireless button located in the taskbar is no longer there.
Some additional background: The same problem (wireless wont turn blue) had been recurring before i had it reformatted but then i seek assistance then to HP customer assistant, and installed atheros. the problem had fixed for a while and the same problem would recur. However, i can turn it blue once i restart the laptop or when the "WLAN disabled" message would appear in the task bar and i would immediately touch the wireless button.
i tried downloading a driver from HP but still not working. right now i am connected via ethernet cable and its such an incovenience.
I wanted to upgrade my wireless NIC but upon power up, error 105 appears - network device not supported
The original one I have is the broadcom wifi + bluetooth combo card, and I am intending to use an Intel card with 802.11ac capability and also has bluetooth onboard. Its also 2x2 so original the antenna connectors snap right in
Have an HP DV8110us Pavilion notebook purchased in 2006. Running XP SP3. Upgrading to Windows 7 with a clean install. Ran the MS Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. This notebook has the AMD Turion 64-bit chip running at 1.8 mhz. I have 2 GB memory. Looking through the Win7 options, I decided to order Win7 32-bit, since I'm only carrying 2 GB of memory. Win 7 64-bit seems to be happier with 4 GB. While the Advisor shows I have some drivers that need updating after Window 7 is installed, I just noticed that the Realtex RTL8139/810x NIC needs a new driver for 32-bit Win7, but under 64-bit Win7, the NIC is compatible.
Should I have ordered the 64-bit Win7 ? Or should I look around for a new Realtek driver ? Realtex has a link to an old Vista driver that should work. Other searches suggest that a workable driver might be on the Win7 DVD.
I have a E1505 (6400) and I was running Vista 32 bit with 2 x 1 gb ram. I bought 2 x 2 gb ram, and it caused all sorts of problems.
I took the opportunity to upgrade to 64 bit with Windows 7 (clean install), and I reinstalled my 2 x 2 gb of RAM. It seems to be running smoothly so far... But only 3.25 gb is recognized as "usable" in Windows and my BIOS.
Does anyone know any settings I need to change or if there is a different BIOS for 64 bit OS's?
I did some googleing and found some recommendations for updating the BIOS if RAM that should be usable is not.
I have an Acer Aspire 5920G with Vista premium 32bit and was wanting to upgrade to Windows 7 (through MSDNAA) but wasn't too sure about it. I take it I can still download all the Acer eNet management etc software as well as everything else that came with my laptop to use in W7?
Has anyone else successfully upgraded their PC and got everything to work?
I have a VGN-CR290 notebook pre-installed with Vista Home Premium. I was thinking of upgrading from Vista to 7 RC1 and I was wondering if I can still re-install Vista using my VAIO recovery partition after I had made the upgrade?
how are folks preparing to upgrade their Acer Timeline to Windows 7? Are you assembling the drivers on Acer's website, or are you content to rely, at least initially, on Windows 7 drivers? For folks who will be upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, what are you doing about the fact that there seem to be very few drivers and applications currently on Acer's support website?
I keep telling myself that Acer is going to release something, anything, in the next few days giving customers at least some guidance and help on how to get their Timelines fully compatible with Windows 7, but those are probably pipe dreams. So... as folks upgrade to Windows 7 over the coming weeks, it might be helpful to post experiences--good and, in particular, bad--for the benefit of the community.

I recently brought a new Dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520. I'm very satisfied with this Laptop. But,it has Windows 7 Home Premium Pre-Installed and I want to upgrade it to Genuine Windows 8 64 Bit.
I purchased a laptop (Envy, 17-jo11nr, PN: E0K87UA#ABA) and tried upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1. It wouldn't install and went back to Windows 8. This was a few months ago, and I am wondering if it is safe to try upgrading again. I checked my product number on the page about Windows 8.1 and it said my computer hasn't been tested for 8.1. I would very much like to upgrade, but I don't want to ruin my pc.
I am upgrading my Sr490 to windows 7. I was wondering what software I have to download and what drivers. I am also looking for the one click check up and vaiocare stuff that came with the sr490 originally.
I have a sony VGN-FE880e andI upgraded to windows 7 and was looking through my devices and the motion eye webcam is not even on there, i have looked on sony's website and tried reinstalling all of the drivers for the webcam on the website and none have solved my problem. i've looked and it seems quite a few people have had the same problem as me, yet i haven't really found a definitive solution so far.
I bought this Split x 2 a week ago and it came with WIndows 8. Everything was working fine until I upgraded to WIndows 8.1. Now my Touchpad will freeze some times and I have to log out and log back in to my profile to unfreeze the touchpad other times I can get it to unfreeze by resetting the release touch screen buttom.
I called HP customer service and they said it was a Microsoft issue and transfer me to them. Microsoft said it was a hardware (HP) Issue and that i needed to go back to the store where I bought it(BestBuy). I took it back yesterday to BestBuy and they gave me a knew one. I did the same thing and upgraded to Windows 8.1 and touchpad issues is back. So pretty sure is not a hardware issue.
All windows updates are completed. I checked the Touchpad's Driver and it is up to date.
NOTE: I plugged a wireless mouse to my laptop and when the touchpad freezes the wireless mouse still works.
Everything else works great on the laptop is just very inconvenient when you are working and you have to log out to get your touchpad to work again.
I just got a few weeks used thinkpad x230 which has w7 professional. I am thinking of an upgrade to w8.1 but not sure what to expect after the upgrade.
I haven't been able to locate a Windows 7 x64 version of Acer eRecovery.
I can get to the basic operating system required for restoring user backup files by inserting the Restore CD in the CDROM. But if I select Restore from the eRecovery menu, after selecting the desired restore file the PC reboots into normal startup mode instead of rebooting into basic operating system for the Restore function.
I just buy an Acer Aspire V3-371, then I delete all partitions in HDD and install MS Windows and driver for this notebook. Everything are OK until I ugrade BIOS form v1.05 to v1.08. Now, it cannot boot to MS Windows and shows me "No Bootable Device".
I try to reinstall MS Windows, but I see a notice "Windows can't be installed on this drive" with details "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks".
