View 1 RepliesComputer: HP Pavilion dv6000
Operating System: Windows Vista.
For the past 6-8 months it has been unable to perform Windows Update citing that the most likely reason was a virus. I have tried numerous trouble shooting options when it was recommended that I perform a chkdsk. After initiating a chkdsk in Command Prompt, my computer restarted and had a black screen with no cursor. After watching this for 2 hours and realizing that none of the usual chkdsk progress or text was coming up I made the decision to force shut down.
When I rebooted, I was told to enter system recovery which I did and completed a system recovery from the hard drive. After the system recovery finished and the laptop restarted, I experience a Blue Screen of Death due to a physical memory dump. The error codes are STOP: 0x000000F4 (0x0000000000000003, 0xFFFFFA8006671040, 0xFFFFFA8006671278, 0xFFFFF80001D01DA0).
I am not able to boot in safe mode. In the start up repair, I am able to enter command prompt from which I started chkdsk again. Both chkdsk f/ and chkdsk r/ passed with no errors. Additionally, the computer passed both UEFI Hard Drive and Memory tests. I have system recovery CDs for the computer but they fail at 78% completion.
Every time I start my laptop Inspiron n5110, it goes to the blue error screen where it says 'collecting data for crash dump'. It usually happens in under a minute after starting the laptop. Once the screen shows I have to force restart by pressing the power key for few seconds.
View 8 Replies View RelatedFew days ago, my laptop wasn't running well. I made a hard reset - remove everything and reinstall windows by using HP Support Assistant. It was done but when laptop reboot, a install windows message showed:
"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation."
So I press enter many times but it was that message. I have no time to waste. I use HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b013nr.
My Dell Inspiron, won't come on, first it started out with memory dump, with:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error message,
and Stop Code: 0x00000050.
Then I did 'system restore', it didn't work.
I tried 'chkdsk' it didn't work
I tried 'System Repair', it didn't work either
I took out the RAMs and re-seated them, it didn't work,
Now its even worse, the PC won't even come on at all.
i recently installed vista service pack 1 on my system which is a 64 bit OS! a couple minutes after installing and installed all necessary drivers, i then tried to install the PC game by the name of grid, half way into installation, my laptop shutdown giving me the blue screen that say hardware error and dumping memory.... i tried rebooting a couple time but same blue screen results, so i opened my system and then boot again, i then noticed my fan wasnt running continuously, it runs for a couple seconds then stops and then runagain for another couple seconds and stop, it continuously repeats that step, so i then removed the fan and cleaned out the sponge thick dirt i saw in it, blow out the dust from vents and from heat sink, then i tries booting up again and the fan behaves the same god darn way..... how can i solve this problem do you think weather or not my system is 32 bit or 64 bit, wud it affect the operation of my fan?

I cannot get the computer to reconize anything doing with the ethernet, or the WiFi.
I tried F11 at bootup, and all I get is Computer is broken error code 0000225.
I have lost my HP partition, so I need to know if HP sells a disk that will give it back to me?
If all else fails I just use my tablet until I buy win8, or 8.1. Or I take it to a repair shop. I have been researching this for 2 days, have downloaded all drivers from HP for my computer, and it still doesn't recognize any device.
I have an HP Pavillion model 17-e019dx running Windows 8. Every time I turn it on, it stops at a blue screen that says
Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
A required device isn't connected or cannot be accessed
Error code 0xc000000f
When I press enter to "Try again" it come back with:
File:WindowsSystem32winload.efi above the error code listed above.
I have tried the Recovery and after MUCH time waiting, it still comes back to the above mentioned screen. I have also run all the diagnostics that are available on the laptop and everything come back normal. I don't have the original discs or documentation as I "received this laptop as a "gift/curse" . It is, however, registered to me.
I had a bad hard drive and HP sent me a new one with 3 recovery discs. I installed windows 8.1 using the 3 discs and got an installation failure message. No error code, just a message with the option to save log, quit, or retry so I retried. Hours passed and I got the same message. Called HP again and the woman told me to run an extensive hard drive test. So I'm waiting 4 hours now for that to do it's thing.
The original hard drive told me there is an imminent hard drive failure upon turning the laptop on every time. Other than that it works fine... so far. I've had the laptop almost a month now and this problem started too late for me to return it to the store....
Is it possible for me to use a recovery disc from the origional hard drive on the new one? I'll put the old one in again and make one.I really don't want to send the laptop away unless there's no other option.
I have a Inspiron 1545 laptop and it shows a " windows error recovery". The screen reads: windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. If windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, startup repair can diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interupted during startup, choose start windows Normally.
Ok..... now i have two choices to choose from: launch startup repair (recommended) or start windows normally.
I choose the recommended one and it looks like it is going to bootup but shows this blue screen with flowers on it and does nothing?
Then i choose the second option, which takes me back to the error screen!
i have a 1705 with 7900gs. ive been getting alot of nmi errors nonparity memory errors. so i replace my old mem stick with two brand new ones. well this did not solve the issues. so i reflash my 7900 back to default and still getting this error. i reformat my machine often so im pretty sure the os is affecting it.

I tried to turn on my laptop today and during the computer booting up received a windows Error Recovery Screen . It said windows failed to start . a recent hardware or software change might be the cause and gives me two options. If i choose Launch start up repair i get a blank screen for hours and nothing happens . If i try to start windows normally nothing happens . I just used the computer the other day and it was working fine i didn't add any new hardware or software so i'm not sure whats going on . I am running The Dell Diagnostics using the F12 Diagnostics Testing Now
View 8 Replies View RelatedWindows 8.1 kept popping up to install update. I would refuse it. Then recently it updated itself. After that, i noticed it took a little longer for my laptop to boot. It would show a blue screen for a little bit then it would boot. Yesterday, I received an error (can't remember what it said) needed to restart because of an error. I ran the Hard Disk Test and Quick and then the extensive test. it stops at one sec remaining and noting happens. I did get a fatal device hardware error. Can the update to Windows 8.1 cause this to happen?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've just encountered error 1002 while using recovery... Recovery successfully went through reformattng my drive but crashed before reinstaling the original content. It doesn't matter if I try recovering from hard driver nor dvd rom, it all results in error 1002. I've done some searching and it seems it's quite common error in hp products without proper solution. I feel I'm out of luck as my warranty expired years ago.. How can I resolve this issue? For me it seems that recovery content orginally placed on my hard drive (and later burned on the DVD by me) had been damaged.
- to order another recovery disks set (though I saw few opinions it didn't work)
- buy new "Windows" and install a new fresh installation (will I be able to perform new installation at all?)
HP Pavilion g6-1306ea on Win7
I run the System Test Tune-up and on the Memory Test Failed with the following:

HP battery alert system detected battery capacity to be very low error 601 (internal battery). So I changed the cell to a new CR 2032 battery. Showed the same error. I changed to another new CR2032 battery. The second time I did this I had a new 502 CMOS error along with the 601 error. My clock reverted back to 2009, I lost some of the icons on the lower right, and my wireless internet disappeared.
Now I have two things that need to be fixed.
I turned on, immediately hti ESC, hit system diag. F2, Battery Test:
Battery Test Primary FAILED (on the first battery I put in, didn't check on the second)
Control - Device Mgr. - HP - Batteries - Microsoft AC Adapter, Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery, and Microsoft Composit Battery all show that they work.
System CMOS/realtime clock says its working.
Microsoft System Mgmt. - BIOS Driver v. 6.1.7601.17514 from 6/21/2006 says it's the latest version.
I've manually updated my clock. I'll figure out the wireless and icons later I guess. Just need to know what to do about the errors.
My Pavilion dv6 is not in everyday use, so I turn it on ~ monthly for updates. Suddenly I can not run Windows Update! error code 8024800A.
I ran the repair app from Microsoft, that did not work. Found various other fixes via Google, but not I understand well enough to actually use.

MY laptop is a HP Pavillion dv5 1223TX, I was having issues so I did a factory reset via recovery manager, I have installed as many Windows updates as it has allowed, I am trying to download software that I was using before reset, like iTunes, Java etc, but I keep getting an error 'The windows installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed' I have tried various downloads to rectify this but to no avail.

I have a Pavilion M6 1045DX laptop and the HD crashed. It was 750GB so off to eBay I went to buy another one. I decided to buy a NEW SEALED HD so I bought a blue label WD brand new. (March 2014) Just for grins I wiped and verified the drive and it passed. I temporarily installed a 40GB hard drive to build the machine while I was waiting for the new drive figuring I would just clone it when it arrived. When I went to clone the test drive to the new drive I received an error about block sizes. I use the Apricorn DriveWire and have seen this on a rare occasion. I thought maybe a different cloning software would work but to no avail. Same error.
Rather than fight with it I decide to put the new 750 drive in the laptop and build it all over again. This is when I received this error.“Windows setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware”So, I grabbed another blue label 160GB WD drive and it installed Win 7 fine on the laptop. I then took the 750GB drive and installed in on an old IBM T61 and it too installed fine. I also installed the new 750GB drive on a Dell inspirion N5040 laptop with complete success. Why the new 750GB WD drive gives me this error on "only" the HP Pavilion M6? This laptop doesn’t have RAID and was NOT Built for windows 8. It came with Windows 7. And yes I’ve reset the bios back to factor standards!
I have had this error for a long time now. Have used recovery manager and uninstalled - reinstalled - rebooted my laptop but still getting this error on HP Pavilion dv7-6b50ea.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy laptop shows me a blank screen after the windows bar loading screen. It did an automatic test on my hard drive to fix files, but when I restarted, it still would keep doing this test. I've tried to use a Windows Vista Upgrade/Recovery, but there is no backup and it keeps giving me an error on all types of restoration. I have just tried the Hard Disk Self Test and it says that there is an error #1 - 04 Fail. From what I've read in the forums, I will likely have to replace the hard drive, but how to recover the files from the old drive and what kind of drive I need to replace.
My product number is: GM010UA#ABL
I had a friend bring me a Pavilion G6 (2287sa) Windows 8 laptop whose hard drive was clicking & unreadable, with no recovery media made prior. I've ordered a suitable replacement drive and managed to locate another G6 Windows 8 model (2299sa) by enquiring on a local forum...
However, before I do, I need to ensure a few things:-
a) Will the recovery media from a 2299sa work on the 2287sa?
b) Is it likely to cause any problems for said forum member if their own system has issues in the future?
c) Does creating recovery media remove the onboard factory restore facility, or keep it intact?
I reinstalled windows 7 home premium on my machine, using the same serial number as the one that came with the laptop (I found the serial number by downloading some software that scanned my computer and told me what it was). After installing windows, it told me that it was not genuine. I imagine that it is because it wasn't a version of Windows that has all that HP software pre-loaded on it. My hard drive still has a "recovery" partition, but what to do with that, or even if I can do anything with it anymore. So how can I make my Windows 7 home premium genuine? Do I have to reinstall another version of windows 7 home premium with the HP software included? Where do I find such download? Since I don't have a recovery disk, can I use that "recovery" partition of my hard drive for something?
View 4 Replies View RelatedA friend just showed me his new Dell Vostro lappy. He has 4 GB of DDR2 800mhz memory on it when compared to my 4 GB of DDR2 667mhz memory on my XPS 1530
However, under his windows experience score - he gets 5.9 score for memory operations while I just get a 5.1. I can't believe that a couple of hundred mhz can result in such a drastic difference.
Is there something optimized for his system but not for mine?
