I have HP notebook and I was trying to setup WiDi and eveytime I get "not supported error".
Here is my PC configuration, how to install it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst, I have two brand new Yoga 2 Pro's with Windows 8.1 (had them for two weeks) and I recently purchased the Actiontec ScreenBeam Pro and started working with it last night.
Second, *both* of the Yoga 2 Pro's are behaving in exactly the same way, and I'll describe that in a moment. Both systems are also update with the latest drivers. I have taken the time to compare all installed versions with the latest available from either Lenovo or Intel. All of the latest Windows updates have been applied.
Third, the firewall was disabled during one interation just to demonstrate that it was not the problem.
Now, here are the installation steps and the resulting problem:
The ScreenBeam is properly connected to an HDTV and is displaying it's initial screen
Swiping into Charms and making my way down to PC and devices -> Devices -> Add a device, results in the Screen Beam being discovered as a television, a PIN being displayed on the TV screen, and that PIN is then entered at the prompt from the "add device" dialog. The ScreenBeam also displays the fact that it was able to succesfully pair with the wireless adapter and displays a screen on the TV stating that it is waiting for a connection. I then access the Project menu through Charms->Devices->Project, but there is *NOT* a selection for projecting to the TV. Eventually, the ScreenBeam times out waiting for the connection and tells you to relauch the wireless display app. At this point, the ScreenBeam is present in the Devices and Printers window as SBWD DF9945-SBWD100A., but it is not active because there is no connection. So, therein lies the problem; I cannot project to the TV screen.
I have performed multiple iterations by deleting the device from Devices and Printers and performing the process again in a very systematic manner to make sure I did not miss anything, and the result is the same. I have performed the steps on two different, brand new systems with the same result. Just for grins, I went out to the Intel site and downloaded their latest WiDi Software, and it simply *wiil not* install on Windows 8.1; the installation terminates stating that the plaform is not supported, including calling out that the operating system is not supported.
From reading the other thread, I see that this same configuration has worked for multiple people. I checked the firmware level on my ScreenBeam, and it is the latest version of 1.1.9.0, so there is nothing further to do there.
I've upgrated to Win 8 and the Intel WiDi program isn't working. I downloaded all the latest drivers and tried to install it again but didn't work. A message appearing on screen tells me that InstallShield Wizard canceled because the platform isn't compatible with Intel(R) WiDi or the application is in use.

Recently I am getting blue screens and later message appear saying the ATM driver stopped working. I found many problems with this driver in the past as well. When I check the relevent page for my laptop model, there is no update since 2012..
Can I update these two drivers seperately by getting updates from Intel and AMD sites?
Is there any update for catalyst control system (CCC) ?
When I try to update through the CCC or HP Support Assist, it is always no updates..
After upgrade to 8.1 HDMI port didn't work. Followed instructions to correct BIOS and graphice driver; HDMI works - however Silverlight no longer working with DMS.
Get error 6036 in Silverlight which is Graphics device's driver certificate is invalid
Have checked graphics driver and is all up to date

I'v gotten this laptop awhile back and i think this the first i've used bluray and it's not working. Updates are shown as updated. When I place the bluray disc in it states "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disc was created in a manner that the Player does not support." What do i need to do? I am still learning how to use my laptop.

View 9 Replies View Relatedbrand new hp pavilion 17e135nr window 8.1 tv is brand new 50inch visio.i know the cable is good (new) because my ps 3 works just fine so i unplugged the ps3 and hooked to the laptop to play a movie i down loaded and i selected HDMI 2 where the cable is hooked to on my tv, i get no input on the tv. so i win p and selected duplicate screen and i get nothing, no error messages , the movie starts and plays just fine on the laptop but tv says no input.. i didn't try to select second screen only it should play on both screens, I dont think the HDMI port is working at all.

I checked whether there was a software due to which it was happening, but, I didn't install any kind of software which can harm the functioning of the keys. Whenever I press F2 or F3, it just shows the slidebar (it doesn't go up and down though) and when I click on the top of the slidebar, nothing happens again. I also tried to go to the brightness option in the Windows Mobility Centre and tried to adjust the brightness - but nothing is happening.
Since my laptop (dv6 pavilion 7090el) had to be formatted to another copy of windows 7 (64bit), i can't manage to make hotkeys for brightness(f2-f3)/volume(f9-f10).
I tried to install/uninstall/install HP quick launch software (with all the system restarting combos possible) and the software doesn't really seem to be installed, since it only appears in the Control panel but not anywhere else.
The BIOS "action key" option in System configuration is already "enabled" ....
The brightness control keys (f2 & f3) on my pavilion dm4 stopped working all of a sudden. I'm operating windows 7 64bit. I've tried reverting to previous system restore points. I've also installed the BIOS, Intel chipset, and graphics drivers. All the other function keys are working properly, just can't change the brightness. Right now it's stuck on the brightest setting. I'm getting terrible eye strain from the screen.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi have downloaded Catalyst Control Center several times but it is still not working. I have Paviliion dv6-6120se, AMD radeon hd 6490M and built-in intel GPU hd 3000 both GPUs is working fine but the problem started when i uninstalled the Catalyst Control Center in order to get a new updated one from AMD website. But the AMD site said my version of radeon hd 6490M is not supported anyway i have tried everything i uninstalled the ATI GPU driver and install it again. Somehow I downloaded Catalyst Control Center the and the installation finished and the same problem it is still not working. Now i lost the Catalyst Control Center and the switchable graphics config.

I got this Notebook a couple of months ago at The Source in Alberta Canada. Worked fine for a week or so and then the touch screen began to stop working intermittently. Once or twice it seemed that cleaning the (not dirty) screen worked but not anymore. It has just stopped working completely for the past month or so. I've tried glass cleaner on a napkin and on a microfiber cloth..all the way to the edges and nothing. I've run all the troubleshooters, driver updates...everything is up to date and working properly or so they say.

I have a HP Pavilion g7-2325sb running Windows 7 64 bit. but the buttons for adjusting screen brightness don't work.The buttons for audio adjustment do work without pusshing the fn button.In bios "action keys mode" is enabled.I think it's some software missing but can't find the software, neither can "HP support assistant".

Earlier i had installed AMD drivers from windows update but the problem still exists. In the game i am getting memory insufficient error, unable to change graphics and display settings. Game crashes giving me error message as to update my AMD graphic drivers.

I tried changing settings through BIOS setup, but no such (Advance/Display)setting were available? I tried setting the app to high performance too through 'Configue Switchable Graphics' option but no success. which drivers i need to install or what i need to do to work my AMD Radeon Card.
I recently formatted my laptop to windows 7 ultimate and since then can not get my function keys to work. I've reinstalled drivers that I thought might work and nothing.
When I could no longer adjust my brightness is when I noticed that my function keys were not working. Is there any other way to adjust the brightness on my laptop besides the function keys? If so I have not figured it out.
I bought this 15z 5523 in 2012 with i3 and Windows 8 mainly because of WiDi but since then haven't been able to install it. Not sure what am I supposed to do as each time I get a message stating my wireless adapter is not supported.
When I did a check, learnt I have Dell wireless 1703 802.11 network adapter is not supported for Intel WiDi. I am not sure how can I enable my laptop for WiDi. .

I have Thinkpad Edge E330 bought this July, with win8 downgraded to win7. It recently started a problem where the laptop's own display doesn't display anything (just blank) if I don't have external display connected. The external display doesn't have be in use, just connected, and E330's own display works fine. If I disconnect the external display, the E330's own display goes blank also. It doesn't matter what display setting I have.Currently I'm not able to use my E330 as a laptop at all.

A couple nights ago, my operating system (Ubuntu Linux 10.04) failed to load and because I can't get video feed to my external monitor until the video drivers on Ubuntu loads, I am unable to run Ubuntu's repair feature and the beginning of boot.
Is there a way I can get my laptop to use my external monitor at all times, even at the BIOS screen? Is there a setting in BIOS for this?
