As of this morning I have no sound on HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook internal speakers. Plug in headphones and all speakers work, both internal and headphones. Checked all settings and device manager - all o.k. Running Windows 7.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a DV6-265us laptop running MS Vista SP2. Recently, my internal Altec Lansing speakers stopped working. First it was the left speaker, then both. I thought for sure the speakers just died, so I ordered a replacement on EBay and just got and replaced it yesterday. BUT, I still don't have any sound. I can plug in external speakers into the speaker port and they work fine.
Now here is the strange thing. The speaker icon on the status bar is working exactly like it did before. Its not showing any red X or error at all. I can test the sound and the visual looks like its working, but there's nothing coming out of the internal speakers. I've gone to Control Panel, Device Manager and there's not red Xs anywhere. The device driver says its working fine, but I didn't trust it, so I did a HP driver restore and put back the original one that came with the laptop .. .Still nothing.
I've read the troubleshooting articles on the HP Support pages, but nothing has worked so far. My next step is either to replace the audio board or the power button board. I'm not sure about the audio board because I don't know how its tied into the speakers AND plugging in external speakers IS working. It's really a sub board and seems to only have the external ports for the microphone and speakers as well as the infra-red port. The internal speakers are plugged into the power button board and I thought that is where the problem might be since putting in a new internal speaker didn't seem to work. The microphone is also plugged into the power button board, but that seems to be working though.
I have disabled internal sound microphone.How can i enable this?My laptop is HP Envy m6 Notebook PC(model number: D1E93UAR#ABA).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a dv7-7270ca notebook and since a restart due to windows 8 updates I now have a red x on the speaker icon. I installed the HP driver for this model but it has an error in device manager that says:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
I did run an audio test using the shut down-F2 and passed and could hear the sounds in the test.
My Pavilion g7 speaker will not play. It works with external speakers or headphones. One computer repair shop said the IDT driver was missing. The tech guy at the place where I purchased the PC said if the driver was missing or not working no audio would play at all even on headphones. How can I determine if the speakers are inop or just not enabled properly etc?

The left side speaker (Only the left side) of my laptop is working intermetently. Sometimes it's working, sometimes not. When I tried to tap hard the laptop near the left speaker, sometimes it work but a crackling sound or not clear sound is coming. Should I replace the speaker or a wire inside is loose?
I have an HP Pavilion G6 notebook and I recently bought a USB microphone for recording. I installed the mic and tested it but when I tried to turn the internal mic back on I couldn't get it to record! The speakers and webcam still work fine. what can I do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe right speaker in my notebook is louder then the left one is. The only way to compensate for the problem is to lower the "balance" in the sound properties for the right speaker (I have it all the way down to 70 if you can believe that!) Now my audio sounds even between the left and right speaker. I think it's ashame that seems to be the only fix for the problem. Not sure if this is a driver issue or a hardware issue.
NVidia installs audio drivers to the computer when installing the video drivers (which I still don't understand why...I thought NVidia was a graphics company?) Then I install the IDT drivers/software afterwards. HP has verified that this is correct so everything on my end is up to date...minus of course offical drivers for the 320M video card that everyone is still waiting on!

When i play a video or any audio on my browser (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer) it does not work, but when i play a video/audio downloaded onto the pc, it works. Why is that?

The Headphones are working fine but the Inbuilt speakers that are Awefully situated inbetween the hinge and the base of the Screen aren't working.
First i thought that this was a issue with the headphone jack assembly that might have cut off the internal speaker circuit due to improper removal of the headphone jack but thats not true because I noticed that Its an Issue with the angle I keep my Screen's tilt.
On moving the screen to any angle above 90 or 100 degrees the speakers get cut of and are activated once its below 80 degrees.
Using Lenovo Ideapad U310 Ultrabook !

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was watching something online when the sound became distorted (has happened before) so turned off G6 laptop and restatred worked well for 20 minutes and then it went all distorted again. Turned it off again and started it up again however this time the sound completely vanished. Tried iTunes, internet, and a movie on laptop and nothing is working anymore. Have checked all the easy sound things making sure I didn't turn it off but nope it all says device is working.

We have an HP Pavilion g6 with Windows 7 program. Until yesterday it was working fine. But now we do not have any sound from it except when playing CDs or media music. I can't set my sound default. I recently got my computer updated and a few hours later, my sound stopped working, then my videos, too. I reinstalled my computer, but when it got to the point where you set sound defult, it wouldn't work. The sections "Configure" and "Properties" worked, but "Set Default" wouldn't. I am so frustrated because I need sound and video to do a lot of things on my computer.

I have an older HP Pavilion dv 9000, with Windows 7. I was attempting to watch a video and noticed that the sound was muted. So, initially, I tried to turn it up, but it seemed locked. It had never done that before, so after several failed attempts, the mute sign disappeared and now it's just a red x, and when I go in to check it, it tells me that there is no sound hardware installed.
