View 4 RepliesWhen I open Windows media center all the photos that are installed on computer are still there. They do not come up and display on the HP media smart program. When I go to a space that is to have a photo but is blank, I can press "ctrl and enter" button and that picture and file opens up in windows media center.

Other observation: on the Windows locking blue screen, instead the clear light blue on upper left corner, I can see something like a sun with round circles around effect. Also, on the starting black Windows screen, the words are not shown clear. See the attachements as examples.
I tought is from a corupted driver, so I rebuild the system but, without luck. Even I opened the laptop and checked all the connectors plus clear the dust but, with the same bad luck. Also I replaced the LCD with a new one but again the problem is still there = I've got one new 12.1" LCD for sale now.
I connected another monitor and also a HD TV to the laptop and on these, the pictures and video are perfect.
i  tried to play some games but i am getting error that my graphic card drivers are either not installed properly or they are missing altogether. when i access the link mycomputer/manage/ divice manager/ display adapter, the radeon card  is working properly. but when i right-clicking on desktop and click graphics properties, it getting error that no AMD graphics driver installed,or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. i recently purchased the above notebook and tried to play some games but i am getting error that my graphic card drivers are either not installed properly or they are missing altogether, i had installed drivers from AMD's autodetect driver tool. Earlier i had installed AMD drivers from windows update but the problem still exists. In the game i am getting memory insufficient error, unable to change graphics and display settings. Game crashes giving me error message as to update my AMD graphic drivers.

I tried changing settings through BIOS setup, but no such (Advance/Display)setting were available? I tried setting the app to high performance too through 'Configue Switchable Graphics' option but no success. which drivers i need to install or what i need to do to work my AMD Radeon Card.
I've purchased a HP Pavilion 15-n011tu Notebook. I'm unable to install display driver for WIndows 8 (64bit). I've tried all 3 drivers given on HP site.
1.NVIDIA Graphics Driver (2013-10-02 , Version9.18.13.1170, 318.33M)
2.AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver (2013-08-16 , Version12.105.9.0, 204.81M)

I cannot adjust the brightness of my display using the Fn keys or the Control Panel... I have already had to replace my battery once... Â I need to be able to adjust the brightness in order save my battery life!
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am running Win 8.1 x64 (up-to-date) on HP Pavilion 1322TX laptop. There are  Intel HD Graphics 3000 and ATM Radeon HD 7450M two graphic cards as the device manager window. Recently I am getting blue screens and later message appear saying the ATM driver stopped working. I found many problems with this driver in the past as well. When I check the relevent page for my laptop model, there is no update since 2012..
Can I update these two drivers seperately by getting updates from Intel and AMD sites?Â
Is there any update for catalyst control system (CCC) ?Â
When I try to update through the CCC or HP Support Assist, it is always no updates..
I changed my operating system from WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE 32 BIT TOÂ WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE 64 BIT,and the problem is after changing OS my laptop is not displaying Brightness bar. Brightness is increasing and decreasing but it is not showing bright bar.

for some reason the on screen display meter for my volume when pressing on the keyboard suddenly disappeared, I would like to get this back. I found this thread in the forum URL.... which another was having the same problem I'm having. The only difference is that I'm using HP Pavilion G7 with Windows 7.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe monitor on my HP Pavilion dv9830us laptop has not been working for some time and I have had to use an external CRT monitor for my display. A couple nights ago, my operating system (Ubuntu Linux 10.04) failed to load and because I can't get video feed to my external monitor until the video drivers on Ubuntu loads, I am unable to run Ubuntu's repair feature and the beginning of boot.
Â
Is there a way I can get my laptop to use my external monitor at all times, even at the BIOS screen? Is there a setting in BIOS for this?
I noticed the display automatically adjust its brightness when I open different webpages with different color background, which I'd rather it not do. How to disable this dynamic adjustment?

What are the settings to allow the laptop screen to be closed and still be able to get video to an external display.
My screen is no longer good so im trying to connect a external display.Been trying for hours trying to get the external display to work of boot.Ive tryed everything changing 2 sets of hd cables and svga cables. The function key. The Laptop does recognize the display but seems to go into powersave mode or something. The only way i can get the external display to work is if i pull the battery and wait a bit then power up the display will work with a notice on the screen that cmos will be reset to defaults then restarts and back to where i was again.Pavilion dm4-1160us.

If anyone would happen to have some pictures of their AW, I'd appreciate it if you could post them. I'm particularly interested in the model that does NOT have the piano black finish.

I went to the Control Panel > Systems and Security > Power Options - Choose when to turn off display, for Battery and Plugged in I set to 20 minutes. As long as I'm active with the keyboard or mouse I'm fine but if I'm just reading or studying something on the screen, without any activity, the display will shut down in a minutes time, which is very irritating. Is there something else I need to do to keep my display on for a longer period of time?
I couldn't find a thread about this. Can pictures taken with a webcam be retrieved after deleting? I'm pretty computer illiterate,

I have all the drivers and everything and it was all good for a couple of days
but yesterday everytime i look at an image on the internet it looks really bad resolution... is like all the images turned to low quality.
Since many people don't have opportunity to see these laptops in person, it would be nice to see some photos from the screen. It would be nice if some could post pictures from dual lamp screen too, so we can compare the difference.

Just upgradeed from 3GB to 4GB and had a look at the CPU cooler (my lovely SP9400, 25W, 6Mb cache, 45nm, 2.4GHz its on its way from taiwan ).
The existing memory was nanya 2G+1G ddr2-667. I've bought a new Kingston stick, 2GB ddr2-800 and made the swap. The lappy works fine.
Next week (probably friday) I'm gonna post the CPU upgrade process and some tests, before and after, maybe someone will find it interesting.
I think it was time for my 8600M GT to die as well... I restarted my 2007 MBP and no display came up on my monitor (connected to MBP). So, I restarted and tried again...no display. I proceeded with unplugging my monitor and restarting to see if anything came up on my MBP display; it remained black. I tried resetting PRAM three times and still, no display came up. I have lost my display before, but not after this many attempts on trying to "revive" it.
I guess I need to take it in to have the graphics card replaced as well as the Superdrive as it is spitting all CDs and DVDs out (mind you, they worked perfectly on another MBP). I have a password at the log-in screen. That shouldn't be a problem for the guys repairing my MBP, will it?
I would like to see the WUXGA CCFL Next to the RGB LED Screen. Anyone know if anyone did a comparision?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe BluRay drive in my Z11 died sometime last week (UJ242ABSX2-S). After some deliberation, I've made the decision to sit on the warranty claim for now and replace the drive with a 1TB WD hard drive (yes, I know is it 12.5 mm. I believe it will fit).
Simply put, I don't need an optical drive but since the drive cost $500, I'll have it serviced at some point, just not now.
While pulling the BR drive from the Z11, I thought I'd give the BR drive from my Z591 a go in the new machine (UJ232A). It fit in the chassis as you would expect, but you can't fully screw it in place (easily fixed with some sticky tape). It functioned fine; read/write, keyboard eject button, etc.
Also, I believe the faceplate from the X will work with the Z11 with some light modification to the plastic clips. Doing this would be permanent, so I didn't try.
If you haven't noticed already from my other posts, I have little to no hesitation when it comes to pulling stuff apart. This is further reinforced when I pulled the UJ242ABSX2-S apart to take a look at the internals.
how to use the built-in webcam on the dv7 to take still pictures?
Or I must install additional software?
Is there any to download from hp site?
Or any freeware programs available?
