Dell :: Retrieving Deleted Pictures
Feb 3, 2010I couldn't find a thread about this. Can pictures taken with a webcam be retrieved after deleting? I'm pretty computer illiterate,

View 4 RepliesI've got an XPS M1210 with NVidia GeForce 7400 and since last week all the pictures/videos appear blurry with artifacts, … somehow like watercolor books or with burn efect pictures. Other observation: on the Windows locking blue screen, instead the clear light blue on upper left corner, I can see something like a sun with round circles around effect. Also, on the starting black Windows screen, the words are not shown clear. See the attachements as examples.
I tought is from a corupted driver, so I rebuild the system but, without luck. Even I opened the laptop and checked all the connectors plus clear the dust but, with the same bad luck. Also I replaced the LCD with a new one but again the problem is still there = I've got one new 12.1" LCD for sale now.
I connected another monitor and also a HD TV to the laptop and on these, the pictures and video are perfect.
We have a user that has had a Latitude E6510 for 16 months. During this time, she has had A LOT of blue screens of death. We have tried numerous attempts to troubleshoot and fix. The Event Viewer doesn't show anything abnormal prior to the crashes.
Once I can get my hands on the laptop for a decent amount of time, I plan on running the Dell online diagnostic tool but I think we've tried that before. I am posting this in an attempt to see if any others out there have had the same problem with their E6510 crashing and have come up with a fix on your own.
I TRIED to do searches to find potential answers but the I kept getting "Error retrieving documents." no matter what I used as a search value from E6510 to Latitude to Blue Screen.
I'm sure there's probably some in the AW owners thread, but it isn't practical to click through that many pages.
If anyone would happen to have some pictures of their AW, I'd appreciate it if you could post them. I'm particularly interested in the model that does NOT have the piano black finish.
I would like to see the WUXGA CCFL Next to the RGB LED Screen. Anyone know if anyone did a comparision?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi got to fix my Acer Extensa 4630z...
I have all the drivers and everything and it was all good for a couple of days
but yesterday everytime i look at an image on the internet it looks really bad resolution... is like all the images turned to low quality.
Since many people don't have opportunity to see these laptops in person, it would be nice to see some photos from the screen. It would be nice if some could post pictures from dual lamp screen too, so we can compare the difference.

How can I get the webcam to be on...
Just upgradeed from 3GB to 4GB and had a look at the CPU cooler (my lovely SP9400, 25W, 6Mb cache, 45nm, 2.4GHz its on its way from taiwan ).
The existing memory was nanya 2G+1G ddr2-667. I've bought a new Kingston stick, 2GB ddr2-800 and made the swap. The lappy works fine.
Next week (probably friday) I'm gonna post the CPU upgrade process and some tests, before and after, maybe someone will find it interesting.
SD card with pictures will not display, I get message to format, that will delete all pictures.is there another way I can retrieve pictures......
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy E6400 Atg has been shutting down on me at least once a day. I don't do any graphics, but I usually have a large text file open with about 6 pictures in it and I stream pandora constantly.
Usually it is when I have a pop up accessing a remote database. It hangs up then poof. Screen goes black. When I hit power it starts to open, but then hard shuts down. When I feel the vent fan it is hot. Not super hot, but hotter than I think it should be.
I have the system set for high power usage with the cpu fan set to active cooling. I have the processor set to minumum processor speed 50% max 100%.
I have 4 gb ram, T9900 processor and a SSD hardrive.
It was doing this last year, but only when I had it on a soft surface that restricted airflow. Even then it was just slowing down drastically and would resolve itself once I took off my lap or what ever soft surface it was on.
The BluRay drive in my Z11 died sometime last week (UJ242ABSX2-S). After some deliberation, I've made the decision to sit on the warranty claim for now and replace the drive with a 1TB WD hard drive (yes, I know is it 12.5 mm. I believe it will fit).
Simply put, I don't need an optical drive but since the drive cost $500, I'll have it serviced at some point, just not now.
While pulling the BR drive from the Z11, I thought I'd give the BR drive from my Z591 a go in the new machine (UJ232A). It fit in the chassis as you would expect, but you can't fully screw it in place (easily fixed with some sticky tape). It functioned fine; read/write, keyboard eject button, etc.
Also, I believe the faceplate from the X will work with the Z11 with some light modification to the plastic clips. Doing this would be permanent, so I didn't try.
If you haven't noticed already from my other posts, I have little to no hesitation when it comes to pulling stuff apart. This is further reinforced when I pulled the UJ242ABSX2-S apart to take a look at the internals.
how to use the built-in webcam on the dv7 to take still pictures?
Or I must install additional software?
Is there any to download from hp site?
Or any freeware programs available?
Originally i had photos from my iphoto synced up to my iphone. This was when i had the original drive on my mbp. Since then i upgraded to a SSD but i didn't restore from time machine. Recently i synced up my phone again to the new machine and since the photo album didn't exist in the new SSD, itunes erased the album. I don't have the photos on the old drive anymore since i formated the drive. Itunes made a backup of the phone before it synced but i looked through the backup and can't find the photos.

View 9 Replies View RelatedTaking the Mini apart is very easy. Slide the putty knife, as others describe, into either side of the Mini, and just bend outward. That process takes under 30 seconds, and don't be afraid to make little scratches on the white plastic underneath. It WILL happen a little bit, but it's so minor that nobody will notice, and... well.... it's underneath! So who cares?
Here was my model Mini with 1GB, out of the box, with only 128MB Geforce 9400m available.
Taking it apart is VERY easy. Just remove the lid as described above, remove the 3 antennas from their clips (NOT from the motherboard). That takes about 5 seconds. Then unscrew the 4 screws in the corners of the system, taking special note of their original location! Then all you need to do is prop up the DVD drive and get your hand in there and remove the single DIMM. I was pleasantly surprised to see a 1GB DIMM in there already, not 2x 512MB, so for those wanting to upgrade to 2GB and not 4GB DDR3, you just need one stick of 1GB! Nice one, Apple! (I, of course, assume that ALL 1GB Minis come like this...)..........................
I decide to reapply thermal paste and took couple of pictures to show how to do it and what kind of parts you need to remove.
First you need to download service manual and read it. All the instructions are there for how to dissemble the notebook. Following pictures might help you to understand service manual.
Things you need to unplug before remove the top panel
Things you need to unplug/unscrew before remove heatsinks
Here's the CPU picture without heatsink
Cleaned CPU heatsink
GPU picture without heatsink
Cleaned GPU heatsink
I use white cotton cloth and alcohol to clean the CPU/GPU and heatsink(s) and use AS5 as a thermal paste. CPU/GPU temp drop nearly 4C-5C. I need to wait until AS5 settle down.
I'm expecting another 2C drop after that.
i checked that it has two partition one with 217 GB(OS installed) and another with 15 GB(Recovery partition).
I want to do further partition of 217 GB disk. usually, on my desktop i use hirens boot cd for creating partition. same i try to do here bt evrythng got messed up.
my 217 GB partition got deleted or corrupted and went under anallocated space..................
I have studio 1555, I have Windows 7 with that.
when I tried to install XP on that my Recovery drive for Windows 7 is deleted by mistake...
how can I get it back?
When I open Windows media center all the photos that are installed on computer are still there. They do not come up and display on the HP media smart program. When I go to a space that is to have a photo but is blank, I can press "ctrl and enter" button and that picture and file opens up in windows media center.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI went through and cleaned out all the media and whatnots I wanted to save before a system reformat. So I popped in the XP install disc and restarted my ACER ASPIRE 1520.
I came to the blue XP install screen ... pressed F8 to agree like a good boy and then came to the hard drive partitions.
to my surprise not only did I have hard drive partitions C and D but also a hd partition called
" :- eisa tools "
I thought to myself "I do not remember seeing that before"
so after weighing my assumptions for a couple of mintues I thought "eh, i'll delete it and reinstall THEN deal with the issues if they pop up" ... part of me was still saying "dont do it, DONT DO IT"
so I did it ... deleted all 3 partitions and then created 2 new partitions. I then selected which partition I wanted to install XP on and came to the NTFS or FAT format screen ...
I selected NTFS and *blip* ... the computer shut off. So I turned it back on after checking the power adapter and making sure everything was secure, it was.
After the computer going *blip* and shutting off at various points in the course of the XP install blue screen (non further along than the NTFS format section) I then decided to go into BIOS.
So I restarted the computer , pressed F2 to get into bios and I did .......

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire 5520 laptop with 320gb hd space .. 8600m gs video card ... 4gb ram... Vista 32-bit oem.. etc.
The problem is that I've just accidentaly deleted my whole OS.
I booted with my Vista 64-bit disc so I could format one of my drives, but I stupidly formatted the wrong one. (the one with my OS)
So now I just installed Vista 64-bit on it, so I could at least do something with my laptop (watch dvds etc.), but I can't get the internet to work anymore because of all the important stuff that got deleted.
What I was using was some public WLAN.
Now it complains that a network adapter doesn't exist.. or something like that. I don't even know what that is.
Is there any way I can fix this myself? I just need to get my internet to work again.
I deleted a bunch of programs that I didn't know what they were.. i think i deleted something important because I cant adjust the brightness on my laptop anymore.. either with the brightness buttons or manually.. is there a driver or seomthing I can download again to gain this function back?
