HP Pavilion G7-1210eo OS/Software :: PCI Device / Drivers Are Not Installed
May 31, 2014
There is a problem with my PCI device drivers. The message on the properties page is "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28).There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver." I have tried Updating the drivers but it doesn't work. I am using Win7 32-bit,
I have an HP Pavilion dv5-1183cl that has been upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate (32bit) and I have some issues.I have four errors showing up in my device manager, three Base System Device and one Unknown Device, and I don't know what they are or where to get the drivers (since I don't know what they are). Additionally, the battery will not charge (there does not appear to be anything wrong with it physically). I am wondering if the below errors are related to the battery issue. Below are the hardware IDs for each error entry.
Base System Device (PCI bus 6, device 0, function 1): PCIVEN_197B&DEV_2382&SUBSYS_3603103C&REV_00PCIVEN_197B&DEV_2382 &SUBSYS_3603103CPCIVEN_197B&DEV_2382&CC_088000PCIVEN_197B&DEV_2382&CC_0880

My volume icon in the system try reads "No audio output device is installed." The audio device is not even recognized in the device manager (i.e. there is no yellow exclamation point or conflicted device to update a driver to). The system simply does not recognize the fact that a sound device exists.
I have tried many, many things: Fresh install (as per the sticky-guide) of Windows Vista x64 Home PremiumFresh recovery from system recovery partitionTried all versions of the drivers from the HP support page (Realtek and Conexant) --- I believe I have conexant, though.Safe mode driver installsDriver installs on a driver signing rebootPutting the computer into hibernate, then resuming (odd, I know.. I heard it worked sometiems).Made sure "Windows Audio" service is enabled in Administrative ToolsServicesInstalled Windows XP drivers for "Microsoft High Definition Audio controller"Flashed BIOS to most recent version F.32Updated chispet drivers to most recent nForce availableeInstalled Vista SP2 I'm sure there must be one or two more things that I've tried and just can't remember. What I can do to find comparable drives for these devices?
PROBLEM: Six Months Ago, the Sound Device Stopped Working, I get the following message (No Audio Output Device is installed): It is as if NO audio device is installed on the motherboard.
Here's the catch: Sometimes when I START my computer the Device Works, and Sometimes It doesn't. If I restart the computer like 20-30 consecutive times (IF I'M LUCKY) chances that in one of these restarts the device MAY Work. Sometimes i go weeks without Audio.
Here are *some* things I've Tried: 1) Format the System:
Different OSs I've tried: Windows XP Home/Pro, Vista, 7 and Linux.
The expirience the same problem with all these OSs. So It's not an OS thing............
I have upgraded to Windows 7 x64 (a fair while ago) and rencently it has started to come up with "No sound device installed" over the speaker icon in the sys tray.
This happens about 50% of the time when the computer has started up. It never has any issues once the sound is working.
When the sound is not working "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" in Device manager is missing and i cant find the "Reltek HD Audio" device any where else in device manager.
It's just had a freash install of the OS and is still not working reliably.
I have an HP DV6700 Laptop, and I recently installed Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) (The full version from MSDN academic alliance, not the release candidate). A few days afterward, I had an issue where my speaker icon has a red "x" over it, and when I hover over it it says "no audio output device is installed". The funny thing is that the speakers worked after windows update installed an update, then they stopped a few days later, and I cannot for the life of me get the speakers to work again!
I've got a XPS 15 (L511Z) which recently stopped charging the battery. It says plugged in but not charging when I hover the mouse over the battery icon. Luckily I've got an extended warranty and on contacting Dell they sent out a new charger. I plugged that in and the same result. In fact now when I boot the laptop it gives me an "The AC adapter plugged in cannot be determined" message.
Dell then asked me to buy a new battery since batteries are not covered in the warranty. Did that but still no luck. Am thinking that the original battery was ok to begin with anyway! Dell then asked me to update the BIOS but when I tried to with the update they gave me it failed, saying incompatible with the current hardware.
I then ran the DELL Support Center utility which identified another BIOS update which updated successfully but then I noticed that it changed the Product to L501X now. The charging issue still persists though.I've sent a response back to Dell but based on what I've been reading on the forums it looks like the motherboard would have to be replaced.
Acer travel mate 4060 * upgraded to 2 GB ram and windows 7 Home premiun 32 bit has just been recovered from a crash.
I am sending this message from the same computer. My built in speakers are not functioning . However when I connect an external speaker with a USB connection, its working perfectly well. I can watch videos and play music. I checked and it appears that there is no sound device installed.
I recently re installed my Dell Precision M4800 laptop. In the device manager there is a driver not installed " Broadcom USH" I already searched for it, and there is one : Dell ControlPoint Security Device Driver Pack, but this device is not (yet) supported. Is there a way to fix this? I did not get any recovery cd with my pc, only a few drivers, not this one.
I have a dv7-7270ca notebook and since a restart due to windows 8 updates I now have a red x on the speaker icon. I installed the HP driver for this model but it has an error in device manager that says:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
I did run an audio test using the shut down-F2 and passed and could hear the sounds in the test.
New Latitude E6510 running Win7 Pro 64 bit. Periodically the laptop will boot with a red X through the speaker icon in the tray. Placing the mouse cursor over the speaker icon displays a message something like "No audio device is installed. A cold boot does not correct the problem. Shutting down, disconnecting the power supply, removing the battery then restarting has corrected the problem so far.
I recently installed Windows 7 on my vostro 1015. All the drivers were installed correctly but the 'Base System Device' driver couldn't be installed. I tried the 'Search Automatically for the updated driver software' option but no driver could be found. where can I find the 'Base System Device' driver?
Windows 8.1 kept popping up to install update. I would refuse it. Then recently it updated itself. After that, i noticed it took a little longer for my laptop to boot. It would show a blue screen for a little bit then it would boot. Yesterday, I received an error (can't remember what it said) needed to restart because of an error. I ran the Hard Disk Test and Quick and then the extensive test. it stops at one sec remaining and noting happens. I did get a fatal device hardware error. Can the update to Windows 8.1 cause this to happen?
I recently received this acer laptop as a gift. Right from the first time I started it I noticed issues with the sound. With any audio that played there were crackling noises. The crackling got worse and worse so I Decided to restart the laptop and then the sound stopped working altogether.I tried reinstalling the Realtek HD audio drivers that came with the laptop but that didn't work and I still got a "No Audio Output Device is Installed" message in the bottom corner.
I tried reinstalling the drivers AGAIN, and the sound worked. All seemed well until I woke up the next day with no sound yet again.I then tried downloading new drivers from the realtek website, even these drivers didn't work. The only solution to the problem seemed to be basically uninstalling and reinstalling the realtek drivers until they worked, and even then, the sound would still crackle horrendously. After getting fed up with this issue I tried to refresh windows, and even this didn't work.I have tried everything I can think of .....
