I have a HP probook 450 with 4gig of ram. So today I bought another 8gig of ram and installed it. When I boot up my pc it says the hardware is not supported, but when it boots up and I play a game, for example, I can see my pc performing better. note new ram card= Adata DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 8gb
I have a HP Probook 4540s Notebook PC. I reinstalled the operating system (Windows 7 Ultimate) recently and installed all the necessary drivers required for the PC. But now as I connect a USB 3.0 hard disk into the USB 3.0 ports ( the left two ports), i get an error message. The message is shown below:  "Device can perform faster : This USB Mass Storage Device can transfer information faster if it is connected to a Super-Speed USB 3.0 Port"  The speed of the data transfer also seems to be very low, in the ranges of 20-30 Mbps.  I'm not sure if I have installed the correct driver for the hardware. As for now, as shown in the Control Panel, I have installed "Intel USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller Driver".
I just bought new HP Probook 470 G1 computer, and I can't make the FN button working with F7/F8 or F9/F10 which is useful for brightnes and volume. When i press FN + F3 computer goes to sleep mode, but other functions doesn't work.
I have been trying to download HP Quick Launch Buttons (International) , HP Softpaq Donload Manager, trying to change options in BIOS and still nothing...How to make these buttons work?
I have an HP ProBook4445s. Recently it got infested by ants overnight without me knowing the next day when I opened my laptop Enter key isnt working. Ive tried the "pop the key and use alcohol to clean" but its still not working also tried sticky keys and other tricks its still doesn't.
I am using a HP ProBook 450 G2 with Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit).  None of the Fn + Function keys work (i.e. for battery, brightness , sound).  Is there any actual driver for this?
Problem: Fingerprint Scanner -Â Windows log in does not give option to log in via fingerprint scanner.Â
Overview: After installing fingerprint drivers from the HP site and using the HP Protect Tools to successfully enroll fingerprint, I tried logging in via this method but the windows log in screen does not display this option. Device manager correctly identifies and shows the fingerprint sensor - however, the control panel says no biometric devices detected.
Details of what steps I took trying to make the scanner work are given below.  Specs:Â
1) Probook 4540s
2) Windows 7 64-bit
3) i5-3210m, 1Gb Hd 7650m, 4 Gb 1333Mhz, 750Gb 5400rpm, VFS 491 Fingerprint scanner. Â Details of the problem and steps I took to install drivers:
After a fresh installation of Windows 7, I went to the HP driver site to download the latest drivers for Probook 4540s:
[URL] Â I installed the drivers in roughly this order:
1)realtek ethernet controller drivers,
2)audio drivers,
3) the chipset and USB 3.0 drivers (but not the Intel MEI driver)
4) Intel video driver: faced an issue such that drivers were not being allowed to install. After disabling switchable graphics in the bios, I was able to get these drivers to install.
5) AMD video drivers: installed after the intel HD graphics driver - installed but Catalyst Control Center was not being displayed. So I re-enabled switchable graphics in BIOS, re-installed these drivers and CCC was now available.
6) HP hotkey support
7) HP universal camera driver
8) Validity Fingerprint sensor
9) Synaptics Touchpad driver
10) Atheros wifi & bluetooth
11) Jmicron card reader  After driver installation, I installed the HP Protect Tools. After prompting for a PC reboot - which I did - it asked for setup of security etc.. Part of this pocess was the enrolling of my fingerprints - successful. However, upon log off/ restart of windows, an option to log in with the fingerprint scanner did not appear in the Windows log in screen.  I opened the Control Panel, and found there was no biometric devices tab, even though device manager showed biometric device and validity sensor (VFS 491). I then proceeded to uninstall HP protect tools and the validity driver for the fingerprint sensor, then made sure these services were running:  -Credential Manager -Remote Procedure Call (RPC) -DCOM Server Process Launcher -RPC Endpoint Mapper -Windows Biometric Service -Plug and Play  After reboot HP Protect Tools as before would enroll my fingerprints, but again no prompt at windows login came to log in with fingerprint. However, one change after the installtion of [URL] was that in control panel there is now a tab for biometric devices; however, it says that windows did not find any biometric devices installed. An image is attached showing both the device manager and the control panel!
My new Probook 450 G1 (core-i5) Fingerprint reader is not working in win7-64bit. The problem is that there is a "Validity..." software on the laptop's drivers DVD and it says the fingerprint reader is not available or configured properly but when I remove the original hp fingerprint reader driver and let windows to find a driver for it, the "Validity..." software works but it hangs on the "fingerprint enrolling" step.
Both drivers (hp's and win7's) seems fine in the "device manager" but non of them seems to be working with the "Validity..." software, Do I have to use the "simple pass" software instead of the "Validity..." software?
My HP ProBook 440 G2, Finger print reader not working when I upgraded form Win 7 Pro to Win 8.1 Pro. In device manager showing that biometric reader is working properly. But actually the finger printer reader is not reading or senseing. It seems like "dummy" part.
I just bought ProBook 4540s (I7-3632QM)with Product number : H5L54ES#ABV
I installed windows 7 ultimate, I installed all required drivers, in between the wireless network was working and I could navigate the internet but after I installed all required drivers and Device manager seemed fine my Wireless network dose not work and says :
Connected to unidentified Network No internet Access, and cant see my wireless network
I tried the network button (Wifi/Bluetooth) changing the mode from white light to yellow light and both modes still not working....
A few days ago I fired up my dv6 Pavilion 3240us and it did something weird. The colors are sort of out of whack. Bright white area show as Cyan and dark areas (black) are a sort of Burgundy or deep red. I can adjust the contrast down a little and the brightness down to -13 and the cyan mostly goes away, but the dark areas are even more more red.  I update the Catalyst app and drivers and did a complete update of Windows 7 (which took around 24 hours and it still wants more time) to no avail.  How did it happen? One day it was working perfectly and it shut down normally. The next day it was screwed up. Nothing happened to the machine between those times. I would show you pictures but I've found that screenshots of it look normal on other machines, eg: my desktop.  At one point yesterday when I tried playing a game on it the problen suddenly cleared up. That lasted for a few minutes before reverting the the screwed up state.  I am writing this on it; it does work. But trying to look at videos or most pictures or games it looks really wild, many times too strange to see what's going on.
Can't seem to find any users of the Probook 4720s yet, it got a nice review over at: HP ProBook 4720s Review - A Review of the HP ProBook 4720s - the viewing angles looks amazing from those pics, but I wonder if it's a trick?
My HP probook was working fine till this morning it just turned itself off and now wont power up at all no lights etc. I then tried another battery I had and when plugged in the orange light will now show to say charging with this battery unlike my other one but still no power or anything, keep pressing and holding the power button but nothing happens?
I recently ordered a dm3t with pretty much all the upgrades during one of the sales.
Pretty much the same day I did that, the probook 4320s showed up on their website.
I'm trying to decide if I should return the dm3t and order one of the probooks. Right now the probook doesn't offer the discreet 512mb graphics card or 64 bit OS as choice but the customer support people say it will become available soon.
Basically I just dont know if it's worth the extra money for things like a better cpu, gpu, DVD, and fingerprint scanner.
I intend to use it primarily for some fairly intensive gaming (Fallout 3, etc), media (music, movies), and general work stuff (web surfing, word processing, etc)
I have had an IBM for the last four years and it has served me quite well. My experience with IBM tech support was always good, and the one time I had to get it fixed it was returned promptly, no questions asked.
However there is an HP ProBook that looks quite appealing. It costs $1865 It ships with Windows XP (important to me) It has a 2.53 GHz Core 2 Duo Processor It has a 512 MB ATI video card 3GB of DDR2 Ram It has a 320 GB 5400rpm HD It has a 17.3" widescreen 1600x900 display And here's the kicker: a Blu-Ray drive
The Lenovo is a Thinkpad W500. It is generally quite similar in specs, and a bit cheaper, but it has a 15.4 inch screen (albiet a higher resolution one) and lacks the Blu-Ray drive..............
I have recently purchased a HP Probook 4415 s. I have a problem with the key pad. The key strokes are misplaced , I mean when I press shift 2 - instead of typing @ , it types " . When I press shift 3 - instead of typing hash sign, it types £. I am confused and discomforted by this, Please suggest corrective action to resolve this.
Bought this ProBook, with SSD, because I specifically wanted an SSD and Windows 7.I figured that 128Gb would be enough to run Windows and some of my graphic software, but when I booted up the computer I noticed that of the 128Gb just over 100Gb was filled with pre-installed software, much of it HP stuff.I only installed Adobe CS6, Lightroom 5 and some really light stuff, and I'm running everything else off external drives. But with continuous updates from Windows and HP software my C drive has filled up and I'm now looking at only 6Gb free space anymore. Which software I can safely delete and which is absolutely necessary to run the system? It's slightly misleading to buy a computer with 128Gb SSD only to find it nearly full with pre-installed software.
I was parchased HP probook battery before 4 months. But now it responed me that it is not charging. The battery is not damaged. what are alternative solutions?
I just bought 2 weeks ago new ProBook with Windows 7 Professional in it. Laptop itself is nice but I'm having constant struggle with my internet connection. I'm having Wlan in the house and I have my old Sony Vaio, This ProBook and one Axus tablet using it. (not at the same time). Router itself is from local internet/sky chanel provider with their own covers so I dont know the manufacturer/model and in this case it does not matter. Internet works totally fine with Axus and Sony but not with this. I can see problem is not Windows7 or router.
Problem is some HP own Client security setting program. Nice to have one but I can see there is some firewall that is turning the connection down and after some "resetting", "let windows solve the problem" and restarting etc it lets itself get back up and after a while disconnects it again. Yellow ! sign turn on the connection bar and it says "limited connection". I have almost full signal all the time so even that is not reason.
And again, I do not have any problems with other devices. It is OFF several minutes 80% of the times when windows starts. Then with some fighting, it turns on. Sometimes even without me doing nothing. I just can't find the way/link to turn off the HP "security program". I do use F-Secure Internet Security 2015 to secure my HP against spyprograms and viruses so it is enough for me. HP security program is nice but if it turns so much problems for me I will turn it off.
The problem is that the fan on my computer always stays at minimum speed and as the computer heats up, the fan will not speed up to its full speed. The computer gets really hot ~70°C. The problem occurred when I upgraded bios to its latest version F.20. I believe that there is a bug with this bios- that the bios will not control the fan properly. This type of notebook has a history of bios bugs: its original bios made the fan run all the time at full speed which was fixed with a bios upgrade.  This bios came with a note that I cannot downgrade to a previous version that worked well. So my question is, can I expect a bios upgrade for this computer that would fix the error.
I have an hp probook 450 g1 ..the taskbar shows the Bluetooth symbol but i m not able to find other devices or send or receive anything other devices are also not able to detect my Bluetooth..i have already set the Bluetooth discoverable in the settings..
I bought HP Probook 450 G1 Notebook PC in March, 2014. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. For the first few days it worked well without any problem. But now about 60% of the time when I try to shut it down, it freezes at "Shutting Down..." screen. I then need to press the power button for some time to force it to go off. Â 1. How can I permanently get rid of this problem? Â 2. If I can't, then is this problem a serious one that can harm my pc?
My HP Probook 430 Stack on Welcome Screen, i run  HP PC hardware Diagnostics for hard disk i got this Failure ID  Smart Check : Passed Long DST: Failed  Failure ID: Q0BQ8C-000797-QFPJWK-61AA03 Product ID: F3k78PA#UUF
I'm trying to download the latest drivers for my laptop from this page: [URL] But when I reach the point to choose the operating system, the drop down menu to choose from is empty. It has only one line: "Select...". Tried to open it with both firefox and the latest Internet explorer without any luck.
know where I can download the drivers with these hardware id's: Â PCIVEN_8086&DEV_9C24&SUBSYS_2248103C&REV_04 PCIVEN_10EC&DEV_5227&SUBSYS_2248103C&REV_01 ACPIHPQ6007 USBVID_138A&PID_003F&REV_0104
For accelerating my 4730s I bought a Seagate SSHD ST1000LM014 and built in. On trying to install a new Windows 7 (64bit - german) with original HP Recovery DVD installation starts.
The SHHD is recognised, a (primär) partition can be created. But then an (german) Error message appears:
"Beim Setup konnte keine neue Systempartition erstellt ... werden. Weitere Informationen finden Sie in den Protokolldateien zum Setup." It's a bit strange, because it seems a (system) partition WAS CREATED. Â Because at this point is an Windows-7-opion for loading drivers "Treiber laden", a special HP driver is required?
