Audio stutters when using bluetooth connection to my BOSE speaker (from Spotify). Has started lately. Cable works perfect. I use Thinkpad BLuetooth 3.0 version. Conexant 20672 Smartaudio HD.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe installed a Kinston 240 GB SSD in the Ultrabay, and it is not fully recognizing the SSD - it does not show up as a device, though we know the machine knows it is there, and we could use Linux and ghost to it..
We then ghosted to it with no issues. We then put it in the main bay, but it would not boot.
We looked at it from the USB port of another computer, and the files looked fine. Are we missing a driver?
Lenovo T420s is randomly crashing. There is nothing special in the Event Viewer. Only that the PC was not turned off properly. Not exactly BSOD.

Usually happening under some load (eg. game) but I have seen the same running only MS Office. No Macros or special calculations.
I would say this happens due to overheating. This is my second T420s I have same problem with. I work as 2nd. lvl IT so I know other colleagues are experiencing the same.
Frequency decreased once performance settings in power management were switched to balanced mode. Not solved though.
I installed Windows 8 x64 recently and installed all the drivers. I was pretty sure that all the devices were installed.I was having a hardware power management problem before installing Windows 8 that I was hoping was a software issue that reinstalling the OS would fix. Turns out it wasn't software, but had to have the main board replaced under warranty. Even after the main board replacement, I was still pretty sure I saw all the device drivers were installed under device manager.
I'm noticing an "unknown device" listed that doesn't have a driver installed. I know often these can be the TPM or other system device, but I have the TPM installed as well as the chipset software and power management driver. But there is still this unknown device.The only clue I have as to what the device could be is under details, the "hardware ids" property value is "rootsscbfs_storlib_bus3". A Google search brings up nothing for this string. "STORLIB" makes it seem like it has something to do with storage, but I have the Intel RST driver (11.7 from Intel) as well as the card reader driver installed. I can confirm the card reader is functioning fine too.
I have a T420s that I bought a couple weeks earlier, it's a used one, so there's no warranty with it, I used it several days without any issue, I don't use it very frequently as I use my corporate one most of the time.
Someday when I wanted to turn it on, it stacks on a black screen and it beeps one beep then two other, nothing showing on the screen not even the thinkpad logo at startup, I thought it was a RAM related issue so I put the one from my corporate PC but without any luck, so I wanted to see if its graphic controller issue, I plug the VGA cable on the laptop and my TV and here I can see the thinkpad startup logo but after that I see a message on the screen telling :
"Real Time Clock Error - Check Date and Time settings. Press Esc to continue or F1 to enter setup" and when I press either one nothing happen at all, still stacks there.
I have a t420s and so far I'm happy with it.Recently I purchased a MC7700 card from ebay with lenovo FRU. Everything looks smooth except that I found there is no way to turn on the mobile broadband switch.i believe I have a whitelist-removed bios otherwise it won't boot. The driver downloaded from lenovo website is installed fine, I can see the card working in device manager. I could read the iccid in windows network settings. Everything looks good, but I just can't turn mobile broadband on.
My laptop runs windows 8.1, I heard there is a thinkvantage connectivity tool that might work for windows 7 but not windows 8. I have quite a few files on my laptop and going back to windows 7 is the last option I would like to try.
I need to do a recovery on a T420s. I want to recover to same state as out of the box. I already backed up all the data. I am using the disc provided by Lenovo but cannot seem get the disc to start the process. I think I set the DVD as the first boot device but it goes right past it and into the normal start up process.
Is there a way to start the process besides from boot up?
My 5 months old SSD crashed and I replaced it with a Macrium created mirror. Everything seems to work except the computer no longer recognizes USB drives. The USB drives are good (checked on other devices), I've removed and reinstalled all USB hubs and drivers - the chip drivers and bios are up to date and the USBs are enabled in the BIOS AND I've done several virus scans (online and local) in safe mode (Malwarebytes, Spybot, ESET, Defender, AVG, Housecall). The USBs are recognized on boot but once Win7 boots the USB for storage devices no longer work.... however, the USB recognize keyboards and the mouse. Guessing a new OS install will fix it, however, I would rather not reinstall everything.

But there's no sound coming out of the TV. I've tried it on my SyncMaster PC/TV Screen and on my Samsung TV in the living room. On the TV in the living room, the windows audio manager shows the device, but it cannot be selected as show above. It stays grey.
I've got a T420s with discrete nVidia Optimus graphics (Quadro NVS4200M). Driver version is 1.2.19.0 for nVidia HD-Audio and 8.17.12.6696 for NVS 4200M. This information comes from the device manager. I installed my system from scratch and used ThinkVantage System Update 4.
Where the problem comes from? I could only imagine that the cable isn't capable of carrying audio, but that seems rather illogic, does it?
I have been running ubuntu on my T420s for about 2 years now. Needed a Windows box to work from home so I installed Windows 7 Home Premium - Service Pack 1 on it. Installation went smooth but Windows did not recognize my wireless card, preventing me from connecting to the internet to download and install the rest of my drivers. I tried to manually install the Intel Wireless Lan (bg, abg, abgn) for Windows (64-bit) Centrino Advanced-N 6205 which is what I thought was installed on my machine to no avail.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo t420s with dualboot win7 and Ubuntu. I never had any problems until now and could switch on/off my wireless and bluetooth connections via the Hardware Switch (right bottom left of the notebook) or via FN + F5.
However, without any specific reason the wireless and bluetooth was switched off and the the system tells me that I have to switch on WIFI via the Wireless Radio Switch. However, although I can move it, it doesn't make any difference for the Switch.
I tried to reset the BIOS to Default and changed the network settings, and also rebooted several times. I won't work with any of the two systems.
I am trying to enable Bluetooth on a 430. FN+F5 only has a radio control "i think its for wifi" Cant find anything related to Bluetooth?
Enabled BT in the BIOS. Is it possible that 430 does not have a BT?
I've been trying to get bluetooth to work on this laptop. I upgraded the latest BIOS, checked the I/O ports page for BlueTooth, and there was nothing there. I scanned hardware for changes in Windows XP, nothing is there. I installed the BlueTooth software from Lenovo, still nothing. I have Access Connections and Productivity Software installed, and I when I bring up the Access Connections via Fn+F5, there is only the 802.11 wireless radio. I did check the product quick path page for this type and model, and it seems that BlueTooth is supposed to be on this machine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I pressed Fn-F5 previously, I had the option to enable/disable Wireless Lan, Bluetooth and Wireless Wan. However after running System Update recently, when the latest Access Connections (5.98) and BIOS (2.52) was installed, I have lost Bluetooth and Wireless Wan!
When I press Fn-F5 now, I only have the option of Wireless Lan.
I have checked the BIOS, and Wireless Lan, Bluetooth and Wireless Wan are Enabled. I have tried setting them to Disabled and then Enabled again but the problem remains.
I even did a factory reset. but I still cannot find Bluetooth and Wireless Wan.
The Wireless Wan adapter can be seen in Device Manager and Network Connections. Using "Diagnose this Connection", the suggestion is to "Turn on mobile broadband capability" & "Use the switch on the front or side of the computer, or use functions keys if available, to turn on mobile broadband capability on this computer."
The hardware wireless switch is turned on but Fn-F5 has no option for Wireless Wan.
Bluetooth is worse; the adapter cannot be found in Device Manager.
All my drivers are up to date, my mouse has new batteries, and I tried this fix:

Now my Bluetooth mouse only works after I reboot the computer, but then disconnects after a while, and I can't even add it again to my Bluetooth devices.
The sound quality is junk its as if i am listening to a really low quality audio file all the time this is through the headphone jack. I cant find any settings to fix this in the drivers and if i use a 3rd party eq such as in vlc player it just gets worse.
If I turn the master down to 10% and turn up 3rd party volume the signal distorts at 50% signal on the 3rd party hard core.
I have the latest audio driver...
Is there a way to turn on or off the wireless/bluetooth radio when the T420 is docked and using an external keyboard? I don't want to open the lid on the T420 every time to use the Fn+F5 keys when docked.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to record streaming audio (internet radio, youtube, playback etc.) with Audacity on my old T43; now on new T530 no matter how I configure Realtek sound and Audacity I cannot.On the T43 I recorded using "SoundMAX Digital Audio: Wave out". Wit other soundcards it could be "Stereo mix". "Sometimes "Stereo Mix" can only be made to work by using the control panel supplied by the sound card manufacturer - this is often reported with RealTek inbuilt sound devices. Try launching the sound device control panel from the Windows Control Panel or the system tray (by the clock). If you see a volume control for Stereo Mix, try clicking to select it. Confusingly, some RealTek devices "select" an input by muting all but one, so in this case, mute everything except stereo mix. If you don't see Stereo Mix, click the wrench icon and enable Stereo Mix in the dialogue that pops up.
In some RealTek versions the option to check is "Enabled recording multi-streaming". You should now see a volume control for Stereo Mix. Remember to select or unmute it as above. Be aware that on some machines, the "Stereo Mix" option will never work because it is disabled internally by the driver settings due to copyright concerns. This is a known issue with Lenovo Thinkpad laptops, but sometimes editing the driver files can enable stereo mix."
I wanted to go today and get an adapter for my Lenovo Thinkpad T430 and first I thought I should do some research. This is how I found out that most of the Thinkpads do not send audio over DP, as I would have expected.
I have the T430 (no discrete graphics, just the integrated one) and Mini Dock Series 3 with USB 3.0 (EU1) docking station. The laptop has mini-DP and the docking has a normal DP. The normal DP works fine with my monitor, but it doesn't have any speakers in it , so can't test the audio part.
I checked in Audio properties in Windows (7 x64) and I don't see the video card there, so I am assuming it is not supported. I don't want to buy adapters if the laptop is unable to send audio over a DP-> HDMI adapter.
I just recently purchased a ThinkPad T530 (type/model# 2429-C93) which should have the following options present according to Lenovo´s product information:
i5-3320M(2.6GHz), 4GB RAM, 500GB 7200rpm HD, 15.6in 1366x768 LCD, Intel HD Graphics, Intel 802.11agn wireless, WWAN, Bluetooth, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure Chip, Fingerprint reader, Camera, 6c Li-Ion, Win7 Pro 64.
However, there is no Bluetooth device detected while trying to install the respective driver. Also, installation of the Integrated Camera Driver runs, but disappears at some point in time, with no error message or pop-up indicating a successful installation. Third, while trying to configure the Fingerprint sensor, the ThinkPad Fingerprint software states there is no device available.
Both camera and FP sensor are physically visible, where the green Bluetooth LED known from an R61 and T410 is missing at the lower edge of the lid.
Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 keys don´t provide an option to toggle on/off Bluetooth and camera, but only WiFi/WWAN and Audio options.
Device Manager does not show any unknown devices or such related to these functions.
Is there a chance that these options are missing in a specific laptop, despite specified for its type/model# (serial#: R9V8MNB)?
Or do I need to first activate the options in the BIOS?
I have just installed Windows 8 onto my T510i but I am unable to control the Bluetooth Radio. It seems to be constantly on.

I have downloaded and installed all the drivers and software that I can from the Lenovo support website. Is there any thing I can do so that I can turn the Bluetooth radio on and off....
My 3 month old t430s has a major issue with the audio/sound. At completely random times, I will have no sound for a matter of minutes or hours. This is primarily with web software and persists across multiple browsers.
- The speakers all test and the troubleshooting tests say they are working just fine. Occasionally, when testing the speakers, the control panel will give an error stating that they are in use by another program and that program needs to be shut down before they can be tested.
- all drivers are up to date and have recently been uninstalled and reinstalled
- the default audio device is set to the appropriate speakers
- I have had this problem with and without the Dolby Advanced Equalizer driver that comes as an optional sound update
- I have had sporadic luck with plugging in headphones, but often this does not give me any audio either.
Several times a week, my bluetooth mouse will freeze. I can still use the touchpad or the red dot. Fix is to Fn+F5 and stop and start the bluetooth radio. Looking in Lenovo System Update, I can see the Bluetooth driver is a recent install and is version 6.5.1.4500 for Windows 7 [32/64].

Since updating to ThinkPad Bluetooth software 6.5.1.2700 on July 28, 2012, my ThinkPad Bluetooth mouse will stop working after using it for several hours. Disabling power management in Bluetooth does not seem to solve the problem. Please provide a download link to the prior version of ThinkPad Bluetooth software until this issue is resolved.

This doesn't always happen, but I've noticed a few times on my T440p that when I have headphones plugged in, sounds comes out of the speakers. The headphones are functional and fully plugged in, yet no sound comes out of them, and the sound comes out of the speakers. I've fixed this multiple times by unplugging the headphones and plugging them back in.
(My problem differs from this one, where sounds comes from both the headphones and speakers)....
I have a new T440 running win 7 pro 64bit. The audio is not working.
When I first boot, the sound icon in the task bar shows that the system is muted, but the mute button (f1) is not lit.
-If I press the mute button the light goes on and the indicator on the task bar shows the system is no longer muted.
-If I have sound playing, when I toggle from the light on and the tray indicating not in mute to the ligt off and the tray indicating the system is in mute, I get a split second sound.
I have installed the realtek device drivers
I have installed the lenovo system update and all of the critical and reccomended updates.
The device manager indicates that everything is working properly.
Having issues with connecting to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones- the devices are technically paired (all icons and prompts say "connected") but the music still comes out thru the speakers. How I can get it to work- no other laptop I've had as had this problem?!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to listen 24bit music from my Vaio to the iBasso D10 portable amp which I'm going to purchase. This has a USB connection which only supports audio up to 16bit 44.1khz, but through the digital inputs (optical or coaxial) it supports 24bit input.
The Vaio FW11S only has an analogue headphone jack, and a HDMI output. Is it possible to get 24bit digital audio from my HDMI output to the digital inputs on the iBasso?
Is there a HDMI > optical or HDMI > coaxial converter/cable/plug/etc. available, and what would be a very good quality one?

I get these "skips" and "stutter" on everything, movies, mp3, FLAC and it doesn't matter which media player I use.
I've tried locating a newer driver but so far I haven't been able to find one newer than the one from Dell which I'm running right now.
The driver version is: 6.10.0.6146 and is called IDT High Definition Audio Codec.
