Jun 5, 2014I was just wondering if there is a larger battery for sale for the S415 and, if so, where I can purchase it.

View 2 RepliesSo my battery won't charge. I've only had this laptop for 9 months and 2 weeks ago the battery stopped charging.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just purchased the Ideapad S415 Touch. The wifi connection drops OFTEN. It still shows that it is connected, but there is no internet pages load, email stops working, etc. If I hit "disconnect" on the connection, then hit "connect" again, it works great . . . . for a few more minutes or an hour or whatever. I went into "properties" and changed the settings on roaming and power management per an article I found on this site. I think this may have worked a bit, but it's still happening.

Did the extended battery come attached to the laptop in the box in place of the standard one, or is it sent separately, in addition to getting the standard one
I was looking for 2nd Sony VAIO VGP-BPL13 Extended Battery for my FW590
SonyStyle, Newegg and Amazon is no longer available!.
Do you know a trusted place to buy one with a respectable price?
if there's no way, does sonystyle has another model can fit on the FW ?
where I can get the extended battery for the FW590 for a reasonable price?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhy is it that the sony extended batteries come out from the bottom of the laptop(the z-axis) instead of out the back(y-axis), I kinda feel the Lenovo approach towards extended battery makes a lot more sense...
View 4 Replies View Related My aunt has the same laptop as I, and I have her name in our family drawing for Xmas... and she's wanting a nice sleeve.
She already has a laptop bag, she just wants something smaller for a quick "up and go" where she doesn't need her accessories, charger, etc.
I've looked at a few and I think they'd be close -- it's just that the extended battery makes the back end awful thick, which worries me.
Soooo I was wondering if anyone has actually purchased or used a sleeve with their Studio 15 with the extended battery, and if so which brand/model.
i've been looking for an extended battery for my vaio z; and it doesn't seem like it's easy to get a hold of one in europe.
i'm asking for the serial number of the battery so as to ease up the search (i.e., the vgn-xxxxx serial)
How much battery life would be if I buy 9 cells extended battery with 6 cells already in xps?
total : 15 cells.
I had to reset my Studio 1749 to factory defaults and now the option for "Dell Extended Battery Life" within the Dell Battery Meter is gone. I don't know what needs to be reinstalled in order to get it back.
These are the changes that might affect the issue:
- Installed a different WiFi-Card (Dell 1520)- Installed a different Tuner Card (Yuan, provided by Dell)- Installed Service Pack 1 for Windows 7- Flashed BIOS to A08- Updated all Drivers and Utilities from the Dell Homepage except for the ATI-Driver
I think it is a useful tool if you use your notebook on battery, because it is able to control a few options that are not available in Windows 7 default power plans.
I would like to ask about the Lenovo Energy Management software bundled with my Z400. Regarding the Energy Management > Battery > "Optimized Battery Health" in particular. When the battery charges until 60%, does it internally disconnect the charger from my battery? The Power icon in the System Tray says "Plugged in, not charging". Or does the software stops the charging until 60%, and when it lowers the software allows it to recharge again? I'm worried about getting my battery worn out immediately, as I leave my charger plugged in most of the time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy 2 day old Lenovo Y510P laptop has a problem with charging. I noticed the battery was never going above 60% charged. I left it plugged in for over 24 hours and nothing changed. So I decided to completely drain the battery and used the laptop until it died. With the laptop off I left it plugged in until the battery LED turned white which indicates the battery is fully charged. Unfortunately the battery still shows 60% charged.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a t540p thinkpad and started migrating to the new machine with my all stuff from the old one. Unfortunately I've encountered a problem which I cannot resolve by myself.
I've got preinstalled Windows 7 which came with 2 partitions for itself - system_partition and os_files. After them there are 2 more primary partitions: Lenovo_Recovery and hibernation partition for 30-day standby.
I really want to rearrange these volumes so I can divide the files betweend OS C: partition and D: partition for my data. The problem is that there are already 4 primary partitions at this disk which is the limit for MBR so I can't create any more.
I've tried to boot up a linux mint live usb with gparted, but the system didn't start. Probably some UEFI issues which I cannot afford to deal with now.
So my disk looks like this at the moment:
- system_drv - 1,46 GB - system, active, primary
- os - 60 GB - bootable, pagefile, primary
- unallocated - 154,25 GB (space for D: partition which I got from shrinking OS partition)
- lenovo_recovery - 15,76 GB, primary
- (no name) - 7 GB - hibernation partition, primary
So, is there any possibility to change the volume with OS partition to the extended one and create second logical partition for my D: partition? Or maybe there is a way to change hibernation partition to the extended one?
If both options above are not possible I would be grateful for specifying the steps to fully disable the 30-day standby so I can delete hibernation partition (however the 7 GB at the end of disk will be unused then because I still won't be able to attach them to C: or D: partition). I assume that simply unchecking the option in the Global Setting of Lenovo Power Manager won't be enough.
Running in extended desktop mode with my external monitor as the primary, the touch works as input on the laptop but the pen does not. When I put the pen to the screen of the tablet the pen icon appears on the external monitor screen only. I have gone to the Tablet PC Settings Setup to set up the pen (and hit "Enter" to change the screen for the input) but touching the pen to the Lenovo screen does nothing to set this option.
I feel if the touch screen will work in extended desktop mode, then the pen should and that I'm just missing something.I'm upgrading from the X60 and the workaround that I used for that tablet was to have two presets - one for extended desktop for the external monitor for everyday use and one for the laptop screen only for when I needed to use the tablet function while docked. That was a good workaround (although I would see the BSoD on a fairly regular basis) but I was hoping for more with the X220.

#1 - What is the "Dell Extended Battery Life" option in the advanced power options? What does it do? The help article just says that extends the battery life.
#2 - With the facial recognition software, is there any way to take multiple "logon" images for the same user? Like sometimes I have the laptop on my lap
and sometimes it is on my desk and sometimes it is on the side so I can use with my external monitor and it seems like it won't log me in automatically unless I am in the exact position as when I enrolled it.
I have had my Lenovo U430 touch for about a month now, and have noticed a problem with it. Sometimes when I leave my Lenovo u430 touch alone (with full battery), and sometimes it will just power off without me doing anything. It even happens occasionally when I dont use it for a few minutes while im working in front of it.
It is definitely a power-off problem for me, rather than hibernate/sleep as my programs are no longer running when I turn it back on.
Hasnt caused any lasting damage as yet but am worried it could happen while im working on something important.
I was wondering if the default Energy Management battery setting of 50% can be changed on the Lenovo V570. I keep the laptop plugged in almost all of the time, and the popup suggests using the setting that keeps the battery at 50% all the time. That's fine in terms of not over stressing the battery, but if I need to unplug the laptop, I'd rather have a fuller charge than only 50%. I'd read that ThinkPads can be set to 90% or other settings. Is that possible with the V570?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought a Lenovo G505s laptop 4-5 days ago, but I have a problem. When I start Windows, it says 'battery not detected'. I found a topic about this, and I can fix it, if do the 'battery out, AC adapter in, deleteing Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery from device manager, shutdown, AC adapter out, battery in, AC adapter in' method The real problem is, that I have to do this every single day I wake up. Maybe it's because I don't updated BIOS, or it's a software/hardware error?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an ideapad p500, and for a while now the battery indicator in windows has said "60% available (plugged in, not charging)".
I have upgraded the battery firmware with the available download on this site, but its still not charging above 60%.
I received my y510p yesterday and the battery was at 32%. After charging it overnight, it's now at 34%.
I've been reading some threads on the matter, for example: [URL]... and whether my situation was similar, or different in the fact that
A) the other posts indicated a working battery for at least a couple of months, and
B) their systems are a bit older and it's possible Lenovo fixed the issue?
I understand there's a power management center in all Lenovo laptops and I can look at that...but even if the settings are to maximize battery life wouldn't this still allow for a charge above 33%?
I bought this Z710 new but I get a message saying "The battery is unauthorized". Also the battery indicator stays at "0% available (plugged in, not charging)." If I unplug the power cord, the laptop powers off cold. It has always been this way. This is a problem for me because I want to upgrade my BIOS but I can't because I get an error stating "Battry is too low (0 < 30 ). Please charge your battery to 30%." when I try.
How do I get this laptop to start interacting with its battery? I have already tried taking it out and putting it in again and rebooting.
I recently just received my Ideapad y510p laptop back, and I unplugged it and the battery dropped to 60% but when I try to charge my laptop, it'll just stay at 60%. The battery says its plugged in but it won't charge.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently got the Z500, working under Windows 8.I got a question regarding the battery charge. I work on the laptop for extended periods of time with the power plugged in. Since this is bad for the battery, is there any way to disable the charging or to perhaps remove the battery?I wasn't able to find anything similar for this model.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a P400 Touch that was purchased just a few months ago (February I believe) and it's been great so far. This past month, however, I haven't used it (until now) and noticed that my battery icon is stuck on "36% available (plugged in, charging)" but the thing is it's not charging whatsoever. What's worse is that if/when I pull the adapter from the laptop, it cuts off completely. The battery indicator light is steady white when the adapter is plugged in as well.
View 4 Replies View RelatedBought a unit with this problem: As soon as I unplug the AC Cord from the laptop, it power off without notice and can't power up the laptop. It seems like the battery is not giving power .When I plug back in the AC, I can press the power button.
One strange thing is that the battery is 100%, state : good. Tried the reset battery so now 3 cycle counts. The thing is that if I unplug the AC cord only from the power outlet to the ac adaptor then the power is still up, the brightness goes down a bit and then power off without notice.
Tried:
- the battery pack switch
- removed battery backup
- removed and reset the battery pack
I'm out of options and I would be glad if I can find what cause that "unswitchable thing".
I realize that there are several threads on W520 shutdowns, but I haven't quite found a similar problem to mine: A random, sudden shutdown occurs while the laptop is on battery. The problem does not occur when using the power adaptor. It also seems to have nothing to do with physical movement of the laptop, nor with power consumption/heat. After going blank from one second to the next, the laptop restarts. Seeing that the laptop works fine with the power adaptor, is there any reason to believe that components on the main board could be the problem? If not, I could just get another battery, even though this still seems ok.
View 9 Replies View RelatedLong story short, the battery likes to play games as to when it is or isn't detected. If I plug it in to the charger before booting it tends to recognize the battery, but frequently when simply turning on the G505s it'll just not detect the battery (I tried seeing if it was detected in the Lenovo Solution Center in addition to the battery meter; it wasn't). It runs on battery, but it's incredibly irritating to have no info as to how much of a charge is left.
I just got this laptop yesterday, and I upgraded the BIOS firmware, and am currently running Windows 8.1.
