I am a current owner of VGN-SZ650NC and using AC Adapter (VGP-AC19V25) and according to the marketing material my laptop power requirements is 105W + 10% and I am planning to get a smaller AC Adapter (VGP-AC16V10) and it is good for a VGN-TT180C with Power Requirements is 68 W + 10%.
May I know if I buy a VGP-AC16V10 will this AC adapter can supply enough power to my laptop ?
I am looking to purchase a second ac adapter for my Vaio SR. However, the 80 or so dollars Sony charges on their site seems to be ridiculous! Does anyone know of a site I can get a genuine ac adapter off of for cheap? I have looked on ebay but its hard to tell if i'm actually buying a SONY adapter.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 and my friend has a Latitude D820.
Tonight she accidentally plugged my power adapter into her laptop. A few hours later, she noticed that her laptop indicated that it wasn't plugged in, and that's when we realized that she had accidentally used my adapter instead of hers.
Now my adapter doesn't work at all. We've tried the adapter with both our laptops with different outlets with the same problem, so we know it's the adapter. The green light also doesn't come on when it's plugged in anymore.
Did plugging my adapter into her laptop somehow screw up my adapter, or could this just be a coincidence? Is there any way to fix the adapter or at least figure out what the problem is? And if I have to purchase a new adapter, do the universal ones they sell at retail electronics stores work OK? I would order one from Dell but I'm working on a project now and I don't have time to wait for it to ship.
My friend's TZ seems to have some problem with the bluetooth module, it fails to work sometimes. I want to take it apart and check or maybe replace it. Could you guys help me out, where exactly to look?
Does sony or any third party offer an adapter for an HDD that lets you replace the dvd or blu ray drives with an arbitrary sata hard drive? I can't find any information on this matter, yet in some random places i see people mention they have two HDDs in a cw series vaio.
I have a HP pavillion A10-5750M Model- 15-e084ca(windows 7 ultimate) Â I recently changed my window from 8 to 7 ultimate and i noticed my grahics adapter has changed from AMD radeon 8650G to standard VGA graphics adapter. Why is that and how do i change it?
tryed everything to get my network adapter to connect to my network cable. I reinstalled my network driver but the problem remains the same.
how to fix this network adapter issue?
Support guys told me to restore the computer an to earlier time using the System Restore feature, but I'd like to know if there's someething else i could do before that.
if I can use the AC Adapter of a Vaio TT on the Vaio Z. The standard AC Adapter that comes with the Vaio Z is of 19.5V and the one for the Vaio TT is of 16V, which I don't know if it's enough for the Vaio Z to function properly or if there could be any problem or damage. Both machines have batteries of 10,8V.
I have an undervolted Vaio Z by the way (last multiplier at 0.9875) so I don't know if this could help in any way for my Z to work ok with the TT AC Adapter.
I was watching a movie upstairs and the adapter was working perfectly fine. I unplugged it and went downstairs, then replugged it in and the little light that indicates the laptop is charging, would not show up.
I put the adapter to my ear and heard the very faint beep/buzz noise it makes, making me believe that it's working fine.
Well I plugged in the adapter to my father's Dell notebook, then plugged it into my laptop and it's working perfectly fine.
Is there anything I can do for my HP battery? I mean, the last time something like this happened with an HP I had, the adapter wasn't even making the faint noise, it was just dead. I ended up having to buy a universal one. I would use that one for this notebook except, it doesn't fit into the slot.

I'm seriously thinking of replacing my Go 7900 GS GPU with a Go 7900 GTX. (within some time because I don't have enough money right now (I'm only 14).
Now is my question, is my adapter going to be strong enough for the Go 7900 GTX? From other hardware, I have a T7400 (2,16 Ghz Core 2 duo) a seagate 7200.3 (Seagate says: "The Seagate® Momentus® 7200.3 laptop hard drive delivers industry-leading 7200-RPM performance while offering the industry’s lowest power consumption levels.") I have 4 GIG hyperx RAM.
And another question: where can I buy a Go 7900 GTX, I found some on EBay, but I don't like that way of buying things. Is there a direct way to buy one from Dell? I searched on their sitre but didn't find any link for spare part GPU's.
My adapter crackles only whne connected to my SXPS, it's weird. I made it stop a while ago by disconnecting an dnow it's back. Anybody else? Should I ask Dell for replacement?
ok so i hv this problem with my dell xps m1330 that it wont charge the battery. and when i turn the laptop on, it gives me message that tht AC adapter can not be recognized, and that the battery may not charge.
i tried reinstalling windows but it still didnt help :S. so i called Dell technical support and talked to this guy for 40 mins, he told me a bunch of stuff , like reseting stuff in BIOS etc. but it didnt work. so at the end he just said to send the laptop for repair.
Even though i still have the manufacturing warranty, but i CANT send my laptop in for repair, bc i really NEED it for my university. And also he wont agree to send me a replacement laptop or anything.
so i really dont know what to do. i know there are alot of experts here, who are way better than dell technical support team. so does any one has an easy way out for this problem
The battery on my vostro 1400 isn't being charged when the adapter is plugged in. However it is providing it with power since the battery doesnt drain when it's plugged in.
Is the problem that the adapter has gotten messed up and the computer doesnt recognize it and won't charge up to protect a possible power incompatibility or that the adapter is still fine and it's actually the battery that is malfunctiona
I'm going to get a 34nm Intel SSD as soon as I can, along with a new 13" MBP.
I wanted to throw my current 500GB drive into the OptiBay. I read that MCE makes a adapter.
On the hardware page there's a thread that tells you the chipset and the corresponding adapter to use, The MBP's chipset is ICH9/m or something,
Since the MBP is slot load, can I just throw one of those adapters in and it will fit (they are designed I think, for the laptops that are tray load) Or will I have to cut the end off of it?
I don't care if I have to cut the end off it's better than paying the extra for the adapter.
I can 'eject' the drive when I'm not using it, but will it 'turn off' and cease using power? I don't care if my battery life goes down 30 min from it, but I do care if it's >an hour.
It'd be really nice to get a smallish SSD for my OS and a large spinner for my BitTorrent. I know I can do external but then I need to carry around cables and use my precious USB ports. I hate external drives because the cables are 1 foot long and they always end up getting thrown around as I move on the couch or whatever. I can't wait until someone makes a wUSB enclosure that's battery powered so I can just stuff it into my bag and not worry about that stuff.
Recently ran into an issue with the AC adapter not being recognized despite being the original cord and no longer charging the battery. No issues with light on cord flickering or turning off. Purchased a new power cord anyways but problem persists. BIOS shows unknown type for Ac adapter even after BIOS update. Diagnostics scan doesn't detect any problems. URL....
why this occurs and if there is a workaround or repair to re-enable the charging? It appears the laptop is just disabling the charging circuit despite being provided the correct power.
Everytime i have my AC Adapter plugged in when i turn on my laptop, a black screen shows up (in DOS) and says that the AC Adapter is unknown and is not recognized or something is wrong with it, and there are 3 options, F1 to continue to start windows, F2 to do something and F5 to run on board diagnostics or something like that, the entire message is alot longer but that is all i can recall from that page.
However, the battery charges normally, and in windows, the battery icon shows as PLUGGED IN with AC Adapter when i have it plugged in and when i unplug it, it shows battery, which is normal.
My question is should i call up Dell or should i just ignore the problem? Or is there anyone know what is the problem and can help me.
