I have a Uk Aw 21 S/b model and have done a clean vista install, on the Uk support site there are a limited set of drives and sony utilits as oposed to the US site that has a complete set of all sort of stuff.
Can i use the US drivers on my model?
I've yet to install Windows 7. Are there Windows 7 drivers available for everything, including Sony's software?

I did a clean install so i need the firmware, I tried all the links on this forum and can only find the UPDATE for the driver not the original install..........

There are already a couple of "guides" floating around that describe how to install a clean copy of Windows on Sony laptops.
The process is fairly simple and involves installing certain Sony software and drivers in particular order (according to Sony).

When I first installed Windows Vista Ultimate, I had no problems getting everything to work EXCEPT for the following:
1) CompactFlash (JMicron JMB368 ExpressCard CF) driver is not available on Sony's web site. When inserting the card, it does not show up as a drive in Windows Explorer. After some time playing around, I figured the following 2 ways to make it work:
a. Insert your card, go to device manager and click on "scan for hardware changes"
b. Boot Windows while the card is inserted
2) SD card slot works but is not mapped to any drive. While Ricoh MS driver automatically creates a drive, there is no driver on Sony's web site that would do the same for SD slot.
Sony's support is useless to a point where they told me that the reason why my CF cards do not show up and there is no drive mapped to the slot is because the laptop does not support cards larger than 4GB (and I have only 8GB Sandisk cards) What a joke. I finally managed to get a 2nd tier technical guy on the phone who said that Sony does not provide CF drivers and that there is nothing they can do about it..........

Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG that runs the standard sony driver.
I also have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG that runs the driver for Intel Proset/Wireless driver .....
I have a dv9820us laptop, it came with Windows Home Vista Premium 64. I trashed vista fiasco, and installed Win7 64. I cannot believe HP don;t support Windows 7 for this laptop.
Almost everything works fine with Win7, but not the audio, mic, etc. The conexant audio driver has problems and is not compatible with Windows 7. Does anyone know how to fix this? maybe a official driver is available?
I tried a modified version of the driver from here, but it still doesn't work, sometimes the audio work, sometime don't.
I hate bloatware vista, and I don't want to pay for the recovery cds from HP. (i don't have the recovery partition and the recovery cd that i made, brings an error)
I reinstalled windows the other day on my V570. Everything is working great except the wireless drivers which i cannot install. In my device manager under other devices, i get an unknown network controller.
I have downloaded and tried installing all of the drivers from the lenovo site as well as tried scanning on the Intel site. i will get the dreaded "no matched wireless" pop up.

I am getting frequently the message ' Catalyst control center has stopped working' on my laptop. My laptop is G505(59379534) with win 8.1 64 bit os. I learnt that updating to latest catalyst drivers from AMD site may solve this problem. But how can I locate specific driver suited to my laptop in AMD site for downloading. Also today morning the message ' Display driver stopped and it was recovered successfully' was flashed in laptop. So I think latest display driver is also needed. Whether I have to install any updates for solving above problems if so how to identify required drivers for downloading.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not able to install the latest graphics driver from nvidia. It installs the latest GeForce Experience software but that says the 332.50 driver is up to date. The 337.88 driver is WHQL certified and lists compatibility with the 860m but when trying to install it, it says "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." On nvidia's website, it says "Your product manufacturer requires you to download a driver for your device from their website" but it's 332.50 is pretty outdated at this point. Any way I can get the updated drivers installed?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently got this computer. When I got it, i tried the webcam and it worked ok. The second time I tried to use it, with the "Camera" Windows app, I get a message that says "To get started, connect a camera".
I googled for solutions and discovered that the "Imaging devices" category had disappeared from the Device Manager.
I downloaded several drivers, and the only one that worked was this one. After installing it, the camera worked ok, and the "Imaging devices" reappeared in the device manager. However, after rebooting the computer, the camera stopped working again and the "imaging devices" category disappeared as well.
This is a temporal solution because everytime I want to use the camera I have to install the drivers first, knowing that sooner or later the camera will stop working and the device will not be recognized by Windows anymore.
I recently bought lenovo Z50-70 with i7, 8GB ram, Nvidia 840m without operation system. I installed windows 7 64bit and all drivers for W7 from lenovo website. But i cant find : Lenovo energy manager for W7 and Lenovo ATK hotkeys for W7. Hotkeys are important because i cant see how much i turning down or up music. What should i do?

The device seems to work well, that is share and access files with android smartphone, and use android's internet, but when it comes to sharing internet with the smartphone, there is no transmission. I wonder if broken drivers could be the cause.

View 10 Replies View RelatedX220 Tablet .... After hours of troubleshooting, I finally found the cause of my Windows 7 Pro Shutdown issue.
The Tablet would hang at Shutdown, then BSOD. I systematically removed drivers until I found the cause. The current installed version of the Thinkpad Tablet Button Driver, Version 1.04.0.0 as installed by System Update was the culprit. As soon as I uninstalled that driver, no more issues.
My recently new purchased FW 490 JFT comes with ATI's Mobility 4650 1GB GPU.
I installed all the "latest" drivers from Sony however the ATI drivers they offer are version 8.5. The latest drivers out on ATI's website are now 9.7
Will Sony ever update their drivers? How can I get this card updated to the newest drivers? I already tried Mobility Modder and they don't support 4650 series..

Now when I go to Sony website and try download drivers and utilities factory installed with my Vaio TT21 XN/B it is not available. Only one way of reinstallation is recovery partition (or DVD's) or semi clean install. But question is how to install Windows 7 when it will be available without drivers?
