I recently bought lenovo Z50-70 with i7, 8GB ram, Nvidia 840m without operation system. I installed windows 7 64bit and all drivers for W7 from lenovo website. But i cant find : Lenovo energy manager for W7 and Lenovo ATK hotkeys for W7. Hotkeys are important because i cant see how much i turning down or up music. What should i do?
View 5 RepliesI just have a few questions about how conservation mode and express charging work. These two are located in Energy Manager under settings.
Conservation mode keeps the battery percent at 55-60%. How is this done? Does the computer discharge until 55% and then charge back up to 60%? Also, if the computer is off, but the AC adapter is left in, will the computer still remain between 55 and 60%? Are there any detrimental effects on the battery?
Express charging allows the computer to be fully charged in 100 minutes. How is this done? Why is this feature not enabled by default? Are there any detrimental effects on the battery?

I'm using win 8.1 x64, after successful installation, this app is running in background and i see that in the Task Manager but i can't see Energy Management User Interface to change battery mode and limit battery charging.

This problem also persists on my Y510p, with 2.04 bios, Windows 7 x64, and Energy Management 7.0.3.4, also on all energy levels.

The turbo boost doesn't work anymore and even when I choose Low energy or download mode, the frequency stays 2.5GHz while it was 0.75Ghz before.
I can't adjust or change my brightness with the hotkey (F11 and F12) or even with the slider in settings. option brightness of my laptop doesn"t change it is stationary.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a G505s laptop, and I now realize that the function keys (F1-F12) operate as Lenovo hotkeys by default, and I need to press th "Fn" key along with them in order to get them to function in their original mode. This is not acceptable for my normal usage. I know with other Lenovo laptops, there is a BIOS setting that allows the user to either "disable" hotkey mode, or set them to "legacy" mode, but in the current BIOS/UEFI for the G505s there is no option to do so.

Now, my question is this: using conservation mode in energy management, which is the software that you can download it from lenovo, can keep my battery imaginary off of charging or not? because the battery charge remains at 60% when you plugged in, and doesn't this mode work when the computer is off , but it still plugged in?

I think I mistakenly applied a Windows 8 Energy Management update to Windows 7 64 on a N586 and now the volume and display screen bars do not show.
I'm unable to reload the original drivers: error message "A later version of Energy Management is already installed on this machine. The setup cannot continue"
Now can I resolve this and reinstall the original Energy Management driver?

I get some problems on the function keys.
1) The indicator of microphone mutation is not on when I mute it.
2) F7~F12 are not working w/o Fn function.
I tried to start the Lenovo microphone mute and the Lenovo hotkey client loader, but they gave me error 1075: the dependency service does not exist or has been marked deletion. Then I installed the dependency package and the Hotkey integration (the latest version), but same thing happened.
I have just bought a new W540 and it's almost impossible to work with common software packages that heavily use F1-F12. Every time I want to use the F1-F12 keys, I have to press also the Fn key. For me this is a problematic change from my previous T510 machine...
Is there a way to swap the default behavior of the multimedia keys with the F1-F12 legacy keys?
I have been looking for Acer 7720 hotkey drivers but in vain. Can a good soul direct me to an appropriate place to look in? I've looked on Acer's driver download page but it doesn't list anything regarding hotkeys. Btw I'm running windows 7 (if you can find a driver for vista, it'll do).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a used Red E520-1143CTO in brand new condition, from someone who screwed up the OS (It had Windows 7 Home Prem 64). A lot of the drivers were missing and not working correctly. The restore partition is still there when I look in My Computer but when i reboot and press F11, I never get the option to access it. There was no Lenovo software installed to create a repair disk and of course, it didn't come with any software. Is there a way to access it?
I also have access to another E520 that is almost exactly the same (It just has the older i3 processor). I tried to create a repair disk from it and use it on this computer but it says the Windows versions are not compatible or the Repair software is not compatible with this version.
So I'm trying to figure out if there is an alternative way to access this restore partition. I've installed a company version of Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit on this machine and I've got most of the drivers installed and it appears to be working fine. But I have three that have yellow exclaimation points:
1) Base System Device
2) SM Bus Controller
3) Unknown Device
I've been downloaded drivers from this site, but I can't can't figure out which drivers I need to clear this list. So, how to get it restored to factory default. If not, I'd like to know what drivers I need to clear this list. I want it to look like brand new because I was going to give it to someone as a gift. I just don't see the on screen prompts for the wifi button (doens't work), volume, and brightness like the other machine. I'd like to get all that working.
I have lenovo Z560 laptop. My Webcam is displayed in device manager. I had also test my webcam on Testwebcam.com and it is working properly but it can be accesed neither by Fn+Esc key nor its shorcut is on desktop or in start menu and I am unable to find it in C drive.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've bought a B590 and installed a Win 7 64bit. I have installed all available drivers from the support page and have the following issue:
Device Manager:
I see 2 graphics devices
Intel HD Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 720M
The discrete card is disabled with error code 43 and has an exclamation mark near it [URL] .... Moreover, if i start the NVidia Control Panel it gives me an error with text: "current display is not connected to nvidia GP" GeFoerce Experience is not starting with a back-end error [URL] ...
Now here are the ways i tried to use but it did not work:
1. Enable high performance and update with manually downloaded nvidia driver
2. Do the same with HDMI cble connected to a plasma
3. Disable enable the device (screen goes black, than to normal and everything stays the same)
4. Format c: reinstall Win8.1 64 and install all drivers - same thing
5. Format c: reinstall Win7 64 and install the graphics drivers after everything else (h1d9d9.exe h2d903.exe)
6. Update GT720M drivers from device manager (driver is up to date)
7. Run a high-performance 3D game (War Thunder) - it uses Intel HD
What else can i do? I saw people with switchable graphics use some kind of application to specify the game-apps that should use a discrete videocard. I don't have such an app to specify my games.
I've tried putting in an SDHC card in my laptop but it doesn't show up. Looked at Device Manager and there isn't even anything showing up. I tried installing the drivers provided on the support site but it still isn't working.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI bought my Acer 3810TG a month ago with Vista pre-installed and recently upgraded to Windows 7. The only problem now is that the brightness icon has disappeared (when I press Fn+left/right arrows), every other icon is working fine though.
Anyway when I looked in the Launch Manager folder, there's a folder called OSDRC with pictures of the icons, where I noticed the brightness icons were missing.
I've tried reinstalling Vista, sent it back to Acer, installing the newest/previous versions of Acer Launch Manager but neither helped.
Is it possible that someone whose brightness icons are working can upload them here or have another solution to get them back?

One of the crippling elements of this whole situation is this computers CD drive is not working. Windows was not recognizing a CD/DVD drive present, which is what I was trying to fix. So I accessed the recovery manager by pressing F11 on bootup to have Windows install all of the original files, but not format the C drive. Well it began formatting the C drive, and a progress bar showed up so I powered down the PC before it got past 0%. When I powered it back up, I get a "Bootmgr is missing" message and am unable to get past that.
After doing some research online, I accessed the recovery manager and opened Command, and did a Bootrec /fixboot, the operation completed and upon restarting, it booted straight to the recovery manager. I was no longer able to boot to the C drive. I did a little more research and opened up Command again, and used DISKPART to make the C drive active.
This time after rebooting the cmoputer, I am once again given the Bootmgr is missing message. Not only that, I am unable to press f11 to get to recovery manager anymore.
At this point, I mainly need to access the harddrive so I can backup some improtant files, and then do a full reformat of the C drive. I have a disc of Ubuntu I had the idea of loading up to access the C drive, however since the DVD drive is not recognizing discs I am unable to use it. I also downloaded a Vista recovery disc from here and placed it a USB stick drive. Upon booting up I can press f9 to select multi boot options. When the drive is inserted the options are Laptop harddrive, and USB diskette. The USB diskette option is not present when I have the stick drive removed. I select to boot from USB diskette and the computer proceeds with a black screen as if it may boot, but then returns to the initial boot up screen (where you can use F keys to access BIOS, etc.) and then got to Bootmgr is missing.
I have a big problem on my Lenovo U310, my wecamera doesn't work, i don't manage to find neither in device manager and i've tried to reinstall all the drivers, even with recovery button but with zero results.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo IdeaPad Y560 which had both Intel and AMD drivers installed correctly, switchable graphics was also functioning properly.
The problem started when I tried to update the 2010 AMD driver with the latest one (2011) on the officail Lenovo site. The install seemed to run through, but informed me that there were warnings during the installation. I opened the linked log file, but it did not include any errors or warnings, only that the installation ran through successfully.
As the driver version still showed that it was the 2010 driver which is installed, I uninstalled the driver, and tried to install the 2011 driver again after a reboot. It once again said that the installation was successfull, but with warnings (still no warning in the log file). When I tried to check the driver version, it turned out that the AMD graphics card is not visible in the device manager, not even as an unrecognised device.
I then tried to install the old 2010 driver (the original driver installation files were already on my D: drive upon delivery), but got the same results as with the 2011 driver.
Removing any AMD/ATi related programs did not work either, I still get a "finished" installation with warnings, and a log file without warnings or errors.
OS is Windows 7 (64bit)
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 (+Intel HD...)
Switchable graphics is turned on in BIOS.
how I could get the system to recognise the attached ATi graphics card, or at least realize that it is there?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had two of the same Windows 8.1 OS on my Y500 (Cloned from original to SSD). Then Last night I tried to 'refresh without affecting your files' option for my OS on the HDD so I have a fresh OS to go back to incase anything happend. then on the Lenovo screen it said that the E: drive was being refreshed as well so I freaked and turned off the computer. NOw I cant access either of the OS's. What should I do? I did do a back up right before and the back up files are still there in a partition I made in the HDD. I used a USB boot of Puppy LInux to see the files on my HDD but it would not let me transfer it to an External Hard Drive. I will Try to install a better linux and try to transfer the OKR files to another Drive.
-how would I go about restoring the back up files if I were to get them on another drive?
