View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently got this computer. When I got it, i tried the webcam and it worked ok. The second time I tried to use it, with the "Camera" Windows app, I get a message that says "To get started, connect a camera".
I googled for solutions and discovered that the "Imaging devices" category had disappeared from the Device Manager.
I downloaded several drivers, and the only one that worked was this one. After installing it, the camera worked ok, and the "Imaging devices" reappeared in the device manager. However, after rebooting the computer, the camera stopped working again and the "imaging devices" category disappeared as well.
This is a temporal solution because everytime I want to use the camera I have to install the drivers first, knowing that sooner or later the camera will stop working and the device will not be recognized by Windows anymore.
I need to update my web cam to HD. How can i do that. And i din't find any drivers regarding this in acer website.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've a HP Compaq 6730b with build in webcam. According hardware info, webcam should work and drivers are installed.
When I start up HP_Webcam.exe or Youcam the blue led is not turning on and I receive the following error:

What can be the cause of this access violation?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just clean installed Win 7 Professional into my sister's Vaio CR220E. Everything are OK except Webcam and Battery.
1. With the Webcam, it seem gone away without any track. There is no device left without driver in Device Manager and no Webcam among of them.
I try to install driver by running the exe file or install.bat but no effective.
2. The battery die already. There is no problem in Vista but in Windows 7,
an alert message said that Battery is wrong plugged or different type and Sony Event Service always force me to hybernate the system and remove then plug the battery again.
I was really excited to see the new Vaio SR replacement come out here in Japan. Here it's called the VPCS11, and it's available with the i7-620M CPU, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, Nvidia GeForce 310M GPU, 16:9 ratio screen, and a bunch of other cool features! Here's a link (sorry it's in Japanese). I was ready to "pull the trigger" when I saw that the integrated webcam went from a 1.3MP on the old SR to a 0.31MP with the new "S-Series." I do a lot of virtual meetings (Skype), so I need the best video calling I can get. OK, I figure, ditch the Vaio and get a Lenovo T410s, which has a 2.0MP integrated webcam. Then I ran across this article, which explains why Sony probably went with a smaller resolution webcam. All right, back to "pulling the trigger" on the new "S".

I'm getting the error message of "webcam not found or is not working properly / please click connect button and try again" when i go into arcsoft.
How do I fix this? My cam worked fine a few weeks ago, I have no idea what would have caused this glitch. Is there a driver I can uninstall/reinstall?
if there are any good, alternate webcam programs that I can download. The one that came pre-installed on my Vaio FW is lacking a lot of functions (insists that I pay for the features).
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis laptop, which has numerous touchpad problems, can't play sound files properly, and which apparently has a Ctrl button that only registers 50% of the time I tap it ... also has a faulty webcam. I have the Sony TZ model (its predecessor) right next to it with the same built-in webcam technology in the lid. The TZ is clear and focused and works fine. Of course the TT model is blurry, unfocused, and looks poor quality.
I have finally decided to toss in the towel with this lemon of a laptop model and will enjoy hearing about all the recalls they will be doing in the future, when people start speaking up about these problems. I am no longer going to try to have the problem fixed or order yet another (ive already tried three of them, all had problems). Im going to get the "Z" model instead.
I just wanted to put this thread out there so when (not if) people search for Webcam problems with the Sony Vaio TT model, they will know its not all in their head, just because of the enthusiasts in the TT threads.
How is the Vaio Z's webcam quality while using Skype HD settings? I am thinking of getting one over a macbook pro, but the macbook pro has an amazing webcam, but it doesn't justify the extra ~$500.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have windows 7 working very well on my vaio vgn-z590 thanks to the help of this forum. However, I can't seem the get the webcam to work. I've installed the arc soft program listed under the windows vista camera driver on the vaio support site but it doesn't seem to find a camera.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi need some Windows 7 64 Bit drivers for my VGP-VCC7 Webcam.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi have been using my sony viao without any problems so far, and all of a sudden, my webcam is not recognized!
i tried to get it through skype, and it wouldn't work, i then went to the webcam software, and it also wouldn't work.
the error message said something like webcam not recognized, and then it said something like reinstall or might be in use with other programs. but for SURE, there is no other program running it!
i don't know how to install a webcam that is already inbuilt!
on a side, note, i also bought the really neat sony vaio mouse, the bluetooth one, and that too is not being recognized by my vaio
i am not sure if the mouse and webcam are related issues, or separte. if somebody has any idea of what i can try to do, i would REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate it! thx, i need to connect to my family through webcam!
My Dad decided he wants to try out Skype, so I decided to set it up for him. The webcam function wouldn't work and after repeatedly reinstalling the webcam driver from the Sony website, I realized that it just wasn't showing up in the Device Manager. Repeated installations and hardware scans are just not picking it up. Let me clarify that this is the first time he's ever tried to use the webcam on the computer.
Is this likely an indication of a hardware problem?
This is the driver I've repeatedly tried installing:
[url]
The strange part is that although the driver installation goes very quickly, no errors show up and it states at the end of the installation that it installed sucessfully and lists the following as the driver name:
Windows Driver Package - Ricoh R5U870 (UVC) (04/02/2007 6.1005.209.0)
Despite this, it's not showing up at all in the Device Manager or anywhere. It's basically as if the camera is non-existent physically.
If it is a hardware problem, then I'm just going to buy him an external webcam. The laptop is out of warranty.
So after moving my Vaio FZ11SR to Win7 it can't find my camera.
Device manager got only Imaging Devices > USB Video Device which 'supposed' to be in-built Webcam i guess.
after moving to Win7 home premium (clean installation) i've downloaded and installed all drivers, utilities and updates for my series from sony site.
On my Vaio TZ150N, after installing Winows 7, everything works, except the built-in WebCam. I have tried re-installing the drivers from both Sony and Ricoh, but no use so far.
View 10 Replies View RelatedHowever, on msn it will not let me display my webcam and only lets me view other people's occasionally.
I havent fiddled with any of the settings on msn, so is there something i am doing wrong? or has anyone else had any similar problems with this laptop and msn webcams?
The webcam itself works perfectly when viewed in the webcam companion 2 software on the laptop.
Just a quick Q about the new S series. I saw people saying the Webcam doesn't work. Is this true for every S series?
View 3 Replies View Relatedim trying to get the dang thing to work w/ something on my vista x64 sz-491n laptop. ive tried several things already.
1) download the original file but its only x86 when extracted..no x64 bit files like the later model sz's. ive used have disk method for the x86 files and just a black screen in camera capture utility.
2) i took my working x64 vista webcam driver from my sz650n vcc7 and modified inf to make it a vcc5 and used have disk method w/o luck also.
i dunno why sony had to make a different webcam driver for each model sz. anyone understand how i can get this to work w/ x64 bit on my sz491n machine? or even windows 7 x64 bit even because i could upgrade if i had to.
I have a sony VGN-FE880e andI upgraded to windows 7 and was looking through my devices and the motion eye webcam is not even on there, i have looked on sony's website and tried reinstalling all of the drivers for the webcam on the website and none have solved my problem. i've looked and it seems quite a few people have had the same problem as me, yet i haven't really found a definitive solution so far.
View 6 Replies View RelatedA few days before I was going to shipping my Studio 15 off. I looked in the box and low and behold I found the Dell Webcam Center disk that I originally thought that Dell had forgotten to include.
Upon installation I found that the specific version of Dell WC that came with my Studio 15 is not the same one that you find at the downloads center on support.dell.com.
I could never get the downloaded Dell WC to work, even after numerous chats with technical support. No matter how many times I contacted Dell about this, they claimed there is only one version of Dell Webcam Center. Clearly that isn't true .....
I have a Sony Vaio VGN N130G with an

I also have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG that runs the driver for Intel Proset/Wireless driver .....
My recently new purchased FW 490 JFT comes with ATI's Mobility 4650 1GB GPU.
I installed all the "latest" drivers from Sony however the ATI drivers they offer are version 8.5. The latest drivers out on ATI's website are now 9.7
Will Sony ever update their drivers? How can I get this card updated to the newest drivers? I already tried Mobility Modder and they don't support 4650 series..
