Its becoming available on the Fw31ZJ in the UK and I would like to know how good it is compared to the alternative 1080P screens (dell Studio XPS16, HP HDX 16)
I am planing on buying a Sony Vaio F or FW.When I saw a Sony Vaio FW in Full HD in a store, I felt it hard to read text on it as my eyes started to hurt and I felt it was too bright. Is it just me ? or is it something you get used too ? Are there any improvements in the display of Sony VAIO F ?
I have just taken delivery of my Yoga 2 pro but I am struggling with the setup and cannot get a proper duplicated screen using a Kensington 3.0 Superspeed dock. Â The Yoga has a resolution of 3200x1800 and my spare screen is a BENQ G2420HD at 1980x1080. Â I have already ordered a screen and a dock to replicate this setup in a foreign country and the kit is on its way including a second Yoga 2 pro!
20" 1600 x 900 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824005128
and
23" 1920 x 1080 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824005125
I know that i'll have a better performance with the 20" since it's using the lower resolution but how much of a decrease in performance would i see if i hooked it up to the 23" and it's native resolution? I'll be playing some what intensive games.
I'm looking into buying this laptop. Certain online websites, such as Acer's, have said that it's maximum resolution is up to 1920 1080, but I am not sure if this is true for all model of the 6930. Other websites say that it only goes up to 1300 something.
received the new Z 7 days ago, great is just a great little notebook, the best i had (coming from an SZ premium).
The only thing that is killing me is the auto brightness, the resolution is the 1920x and in dim light the brightness is going down, after 1 hour my eyes are red. The only thing that i can do is putting the lamp directly on top of the keyboard so the sensor adjusts the brightness to the maximum level.
What can i do? I can't find a way to turn down the auto brightness....
huge threads dedicated to new Vaio Z (and read more than half of them) but couldn't find any useful information about 1920x1080 screen. I saw 1600x900 model in store and wasn't impressed at all (TN simply can't get better than average IMO)
Is there any information about panel manufacturer/type? Does anybody have proper pics showing its viewing angles (comparison with 1600 model will be even better)?
Don't post about resolution/DPI scaling/small fonts, this thread is devoted to panels' quality only.
I am buying a XPS m1550 and I can't decide which screen to get. Should I get the LED or the HD 1920 x 1200 display.....That 1920 display sounds good as I like having lots of windows open...on the other hand LED is better on energy and I have heard a nicer looking screen to view....
is the sony FW35V(customizable) on the sony style uk site a 1920x1080 a dual lamp LCD? it says 16.4" H1080 WXGA++ (1920 x 1080) Widescreen X-black LCD screen with built-in "Motion Eye" Digital Camera, but is it a 1920x1080 dual lamp, multiple lamp(how many?) orr single lamp? make sure its the fw35v not the fw35x. the fw35v is the one that costs £60 to upgrade the screen. the fw35x says HD1080 (1920x1080) X-black LCD with multiple lamp, which im guessing is a dual lamp LCD right? also is the Dual lamp worth it for £60? what does it do? give brighter?, sharper?, more deep and rich colours? or something else?
I am considering some laptops and the sony vaio is one of them. I have heard great things about the screen but it is glossy, something I have sworn off all these years. I have seeing reflections on my screen. how the anti-reflective screen performs?
I just bought a brand new Sony Vaio VPCF11M1E and I have the following problem:
Because in normal stand the screen is very small, I enlarged it to x150%. Everything becomes bigger, but the following parts are blurry and absolutely not sharp:
-Pop ups, of programs and of windows itself (like advanced settings of something and then a new windows pops up, that one is then totally blurry; you can read it, but it is not the good resolution)
-Google chrome (and with that, all the internet pages)
-The google chrome on the desktop is also very blurry, while all the others, are still sharp (after the enlargement by 150%)
I have tried everything (32 bits colours is on, cleartype is on). I also did a system restore to the first days I bought the laptop and then it was on 100% so the resolution was excellent, but then I put it on 150% and again, the parts I mentioned above, were blurry.
the fw series can be purchased with either the 16.4" VAIO Display (1600x900) or the
16.4" VAIO extra-wide HD display (1920x1080)
How much smaller is the text on the true HD screen? I will be using the laptop for charts so more pixels means more screen real estate means more charts. But if the text is difficult to read, then it is counterproductive.
Seeing the gridlines on the charts is also important so if I need a magnifying glass to see what's going on, then the TRUE HD screen is not worth it
I tried to go see a Z in person but Best Buy had none. They had another Sony laptop and frankly the screen was poor, with terrible light output and I checked to see if it was plugged in and had brightness cranked up. I have to think the Z has a different quality screen but wanted to hear it first here.
Sony no longer call the cheaper lower resolution screen as ECO screen. Instead, they simply call it "16.4" VAIO Display (1600x900)".
Does it mean that the lower resolution model has the same brightness and color richness as the higher resolution 1920x1080 model? It doesn't seem to be. From the item description, this is what they say .....
I have a SZ120P with the standard LCD screen which because of a recent fall cracked.
I got a good deal on a premium lcd housing and LED LCD so I thought I could use that to replace the screen.
I used the service manual to remove the old LCD screen and housing, and replace it with the new LED thin LCD and housing, but when I powered on, the LCD had no back lighting
Today at the end of school I took my notebook (Sony Vaio SR) out of my bag (special notebook bag) and got it out of stand by. I noticed that there were vertical lines on exactly the left half of the screen.
The lines are separated exactly equal and the color changes when images are moved. They are not of a certain color, perhaps a bit brown .....
The design of the Z series results in a large scratch across the screen if the laptop gets compressed a little. Question is , has anyone tried to get it repaired under the warrenty? I purchased the full screen protection plan.
About to pull trigger on the new Sony VPCZ11 -How would you rate the screen quality on this notebook as opposed to say the T410 Lenovo, or W510? Or any other comparable for that matter
Overnight a problem with the screen on my Sony Vaio FZ has become apparent. A think multi colour bar had started to appear at the bottom of the screen. I am not entirely sure if the problem is related to the 8400GT graphics processor, I have had a preciously faulty one replaced which I hope reduces the likelihood that the graphics processor is the culprit. I am just going through now backing up my data in case the fault spreads further. My eye sight may not be sharp enough but it may have expanded.
Note that in the pictures attached it appears green but when I have something else up as wallpaper, or a program open, the colours change to reflect in some way what is on the rest of the screen. For example when I have word opinion the blue background appears black on the bar, the text area is a shade of grey. Also, my taskbar is not that thick. My available space on screen has not gone away as much as the fault bar suggests it should have, it is as though my screen has adjusted in some way.
MY SZ4 Model has the LCD panel not the LED and for some reason to me it seems like the brightness is not going to its full potential even though its showing all the Brightness bars, I'm not sure if this has to do with the LCD itself degrading over time(even though its only been 2-3 years) and the colours arent as sharp sometimes when im watching movies or TV series, so I was wondering if there is any type of software out there that can help me with sharpness or contrast that sorta thing.
No option for sharpness, brightness, contrast shows up in my nVidia Control Panel either, just manage your 3D settings and, Display options, very limited options.
If you go into Advanced options mode i do this these settings below in the 3D settings, are these settings okay as they are or should I change any of them?
I have recently bought FW 590FEB, after using it for 5 days, I got three times blue screen problem like this:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent the damage. [url]
1st blue screen, windows 7 shut down unexpectedly 2nd blue screen, windows 7, don't really know since I went to out and find out when I start the pc, it said shut down unexpectedly, 3rd blue screen, windows 7 close/shut down by itself while i was running VLC and utorrent, and it when to the screen where we can choose start windows with safe mode or normal...
I don't know what is happening with this blue screen problem, since this is my first experience with this trouble,
Is it software/drive issue or hardware? Should I restore it to factory setting? I think it it shutdown by itself, every time i use Google Chrome and utorrent.....
