If I click on the left side of the bar, it works. But if I click on the right side of the bar, it doesnt work

Sony :: Vaio SZhow To Remove Known BIOS Password
May 14, 2010I have a Sony SZ90 notebook, and would like to run a BIOS update on it. I have the latest BIOS (that I found with help from chaps on this forum). However it won't recognise the notebook when I run it.
I have wondered whether this is because I added a BIOS password to it ages ago. I know the password.
I would like to remove the password, but cannot for the life of me find how to do this in the BIOS.
Does any one know how to remove the BIOS password?

Apr 15, 2009Is it me or does the left side of the wrist rest get hot? the remote in the slot also gets really hot. The average temp seems to be 38-46 C. Its like 81 when playing a game or so. Even though these numbers seem normal, does anyone feel its hotter than its supposed to be. I used HWMONITOR to see the temps. Im just worried if this heat can ruin the express slot remote. and does anyone else feel the warmth from the left side?
Also, is anyone's spacebar not that responsive when hitting it towards the farthest left or right? Its really annoying when you hit it but theres no space. Other laptops are perfectly normal but the hdx16 spacebar seems loose.
Lastly, everytime i turn off the dolby sound space expander, my fingerprint reader sounds like its buzzing when it accepts a fingerprint. Some songs crackle when it's turned on as well. Try it out, it will probably happen to you. Already tried reinstalling the audio drivers and problems still occurs.

May 2, 2010I've got an old hand-me-down VAIO PCG-XG29 on which the screen backlight has died. I'm a low-income disabled senior and I don't think it would be worth it to pay for a new backlight and then try to figure out how to install it.
So, I'd like to pull the hard drive from the VAIO and connect it to the USB port on a hand-me-down Toshiba laptop I was given recently. And then use the VAIO HD as a back-up drive for the Toshiba.
But I'm having trouble finding instructions on the web for how to remove the HD from the VAIO.

Jul 29, 2009I would really love to know how to remove the keyboard from my Vaio SR.... I believe the Wireless card is shot... And it's refurb'd so its out of warranty...
I believe the Z and SR have similar designs so if anyone knows how to specifically remove the keyboard I would be forever grateful!

Sep 3, 2014My Hp Laptop has gone through a serious problem. Its Spacebar,Enter,Delete,up and down Arrow keys have stopped working . I am not sure how this problem caused . So i gone through varios fixes, that were -
1. Rstoring to an earliar date.
2. Re-installling Keyboard driver
3. Formating the System.
The third fix Formatting worked and my keys started working . After some day I installed a software HP Network Manager but this after installing it again those keys stopped working and also the LED lights on Caps Lock and Wi- fi are not turning on but these two are functioning normally. the some of the information related my HP laptop are-

Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Y40 - Spacebar Only Works If Pressed Directly In The Center
Dec 13, 2014Just unpacked a new Y40 laptop, and the spacebar only works if pressed directly in the center. Any press to the either side, no matter how hard does not yield a keypress. Seems to me like it couldn't be a software or driver issue. I see a lenovo service center close to me, do I just walk in with my laptop?

Mar 9, 2010I've recently ordered a Sony CW with all the bells and whistles. I was quite reluctant at first to by a Sony, due to all the software etc that it comes pre-loaded with, but (my wife anyway) fell in love with its look and so we now have one on its way...
My question is, for a relatively novice IT person - although not a complete muppet! - the 'clean install' looks rather complicated to me and the risk of something going wrong rather scary! In this regard, can i not simply use the add/remove applications function in the control panel?
If this were an alternative otion, which programmes are the ones i dont need!

they show up fine under "my computer". However, once I am done using them, there is no option on the taskbar to "safely remove"
the SD card. There is also no option when I right click on the SD card under "my computer" for "eject"

Jan 15, 2010I have just been given a VAIO PCG8A2M (GRX316MP) , i was told "it's broken but if you can fix it yo can have it" so having a quick look at it there's no sign of life on the display but the lights come on and i can here the HDD heads moving about.
Looking a little more i found that all the ram is missing , so now im not sure if its worth buying some ram to see if it works or not ? The lack of ram would prob explain the lack of display but i wonder if i should be getting POST beeps at least, which im not.
So my question is if a VAIO had no ram should (if all else was working) it be getting POST beeps ?

I had it on my SZ and loved it over the XP Blue. Is there a way to get it back? I still have the restore discs from the SZ.

Jul 4, 2009I don't know whats the diference (besides the price), between VAIO TZ295N & VAIO TZ395N. Specs in all the websites I've checked say they have exactly the same components: Intel coreduo 1.33Ghz 2GB RAM DVD-RW and 64GB SSD Hardrive. I was wonder if the diference might be in the hard drive interface, with the TZ295N being PATA and TZ395N being SATA.

Mar 22, 2010Am planning to get a sony laptop for me. The design simply rocks I am getting mixed reviews about cw and E series. But i made up my mind to get one.
My budget is aroung 40000rupees. Thats around 800$. So suggest me a better one between these two for occasional moderate and less(mosltly) demanding games. I dont care whether its 14 or 15 inch.
Am looking at lower end versions of both the models.
Only difference is CW uses Nvidia Geforce 310 and the E series uses some Radeon 5000 series one. CW has 14 inch screen whereas E series has a 15.5 inch screen. In the models which i am looking at both have matte finish and both has WXGA:1366 x 768 VAIO Display.
which one should i go for. whether the screen quality will be on par to Inspiron one atleast? ( I dont need HD).

The Vaio F Series only has 330M Nvidia Graphics Card with i7QM and up to 8GB of Ram and up to 256GB SSD.
The E Series has ATI 5650 (a less powerful version, reduced clock speed) combined with a i5 520M with up to 6Gb of Ram and up to 500GB of HDD ? Why can i not choose SSD ?
Sony :: Vaio TT AC Adapter On Vaio Z
Jan 2, 2009if I can use the AC Adapter of a Vaio TT on the Vaio Z. The standard AC Adapter that comes with the Vaio Z is of 19.5V and the one for the Vaio TT is of 16V, which I don't know if it's enough for the Vaio Z to function properly or if there could be any problem or damage. Both machines have batteries of 10,8V.
I have an undervolted Vaio Z by the way (last multiplier at 0.9875) so I don't know if this could help in any way for my Z to work ok with the TT AC Adapter.

Feb 10, 2009I have this "problem" since I got my Z. When I start vaio update 3 utility I get this error "messageID=0008" there are no updates for your model bla bla...
However when I go to vaio support page, there are some new updates for my Z590N model (new Bios, USB patch...)
I have downloaded new version of Viao Update utility 3.2.something but I had to uninstall my current version (3.1.something), which I did. However when I started this new setup message poped up "there is no previous version installed" - abort.
I have checked esupport page where is said if you have problems with Vaio Update 3, to download Sony Shared Library which suppose to contain vaio update utility), I run installation but it doesn't install Vaio Update 3
Now, I can live with this esupport page regular visit updates,
