View 15 Replies View RelatedI purchased a TT-34G/D couple of months ago. I use an Option Globetrotter 3G express card for mobile internet where wifi is unavailable.
However, the card fits very loosely inside the slot, and comes out upon a slightest pull.
Even when my hand accidentally touchs the external antenna portion of the card, the hardware removal sound is heard
Do you know how to enable hybernation in Windows XP x64 with 16GB RAM ?, I do not have that option in Power Manager in Control Panel..

I have to use a dental pick to catch a corner of it and pull it out. The media slot works fine because you just push in on it until it pops out but the express card doesn't seem to do this? ..
I have the Dell Studio 14z... I want to make use of my Express Card Slot.. Will I get any peformance boost by installing my OS to the following card:

I can't see a way to stop this from happening.

I need a CF card reader ExpressCard but can't afford for it to keep popping out.
This took me a long time to find out... Read my post here to save yourself the time and just "make it work"!

I formatted my laptop HDD by connnecting it as an external HDD to another laptop and did start -> control panel - > Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> storage -> Disk Management: Delete Partition and Format my HDD.
My internal DVD writer is not reading DVD. DVD writer is attempting to read DVD, I can see lights, I can hear the sound of disk spinning. After 2-3 seconds of attempting to read DVD it stops and starts again. this happens over and over till I remove the DVD.
I have an external USB DVD writer(it works) which is not detecting at bootup. I was counting on that to install XP. I have an external USB floppy drive - it gets detected at bootup
When I start my computer I get "Operating System not found"(of course). I have a XP installation cd. I tried making a USB stick boot XP installation - not detecting USB stick at startup. I also looked at BIOS settings to enable USB - I don't see any such feature
1) How can I enable BIOS to detect my external USB DVD writer?
2) How can I install XP?
I attempted to install Windows 7 upgrade onto my SZ340 and managed to get almost everything working.
My FN keys all work with a bit of work but I can;t seem to get the sony power management to work.
I can't set the laptop brightness to low when unplugged. Whenever gotot he Sony Powermengamant TAB, it gives me some shell DLL error.
I can access the tab when using default Windows 7 power mnagement setting but It doesn't allow me to set the brightness
I have a Sony VAIO NS110E laptop that I would like to downgrade to Windows XP.
The video chipset is just plain to slow for Windows Vista (for my liking) so I would like to move to Windows XP. (Hopefully it will be better).
I tried to search for anyone that has done a guide for this model or series, but there is virtually nothing for the NS series on these forums.
Everytime I put Windows XP on the laptop, I can not connect to any wireless network. No matter what I try.
I have brought a new dell studio 1435 laptop and they provided me with default windows vista home premiun OS.
I have installed windows XP professional OS after changing the BIOS settings for onboard devices (In BIOS:
Onboard Devices -> Flash Cache Module -> Set Off
Onboard Devices -> SATA Operation -> Set ATA)
Can i will be able to install the windows vista OS after installing windows Xp with the same BIOS settings for onboard devices (In BIOS:
Onboard Devices -> Flash Cache Module -> Set Off
Onboard Devices -> SATA Operation -> Set ATA)
I purchased a ready-to-go VGN-Z720D from Sony, and their bloatware is, well, horrible, so i figured that would be as good a time as any to do a clean install AND run Windows 7 RC1.
Problem is, most of the utilities/programs listed earlier in the "Windows 7 on Vaio Z" thread are not available from esupport.sony.com in 32-bit flavor for this particular model.
I've tried to use 32-bit drivers from the Z690 on my Z720, but Sony does enforce model restrictions within its package
I believe I've downloaded all the drivers from Sony's web page. I can't get the function keys such as brightness and volume working. Is there an order to installing them or a file I may have missed? I have a Sony Z series Vaio VGN-Z610Y. I'm running Windows 7 enterprise x64.

I got a 370 bluetooth card and for the life of me I can't figure out how to install it in my Studio 15 even after reading the directions on Dell's website. First of all did they send me the right card it measures something like 1/2" by 1 3/8"?
After taking the back cover off of the laptop there is a pretty big slot marked WPAN with a blue cable ran to that spot held down by a black piece of vinyl. The 370 I got doesn't seem to fit the plug-in connection unless I'm missing something. Also I don't see what would hold the card down because it isn't long enough to reach what looks like 2 screw down posts at the top of the slot.
I've never installed a mini-card before or even seen what they should look like, can anyone verify I have the right card or whether I'm just not smart enough to figure out to install it, I won't be offended if the latter?
I got a new video card for my Inspiron 6000, but I'm not too sure I know how to install it.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI ordered a Bluetooth card from Dell for my Studio 17, and I was wondering if anyone has installed one of these yet. I already have the WLAN card installed which is for the WiFi operations and Im wondering how hard of a job it is to install the Bluetooth card.
I already added a second hard drive to my laptop so going inside of it isnt a problem I know what Im doing but have no clue where the Wireless cards are mounted. Im hoping the Bluetooth slot is marked so I know where it goes.
Background: I bought my refurbished Lenovo Y500 laptop in June. It came with a 1TB HDD and a 16GB SSD for caching.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working on this Acer Aspire AS7520-5311 laptop, on Vista 32, with a NVIDIA GeForce 8400M. Trying to tweak some graphic settings last night somehow I guess I deleted the video drivers for the nvidia card. I went into the device manager and deleted all of the display drivers. When it rebooted it tried to install it again. For some odd reason, it installed a "Standard VGA adaptor". So my desktop resolution is back to the former settings but any remotely graphic demanding programs will not run. I've went to Acer's website and nvidias website and cannot find the exact NVIDIA GeForce 8400M driver. I've tried everything listed under the model number on acer's website and it will install, reboot, but when comes back up. It still only shows the same standard vga adaptor.
This did not come with a restore disk for some odd reason!
Now before I just blame Vista, transfer all of my data, erase it, and then put XP on it.
I'm sure If I could somehow find the correct driver for the video card it would help.
I have recently purchased a Lenovo V570 From Best Buy with an i5 2410m and Intel HD 3000. When browsing the web, I came across the option for the V570 to have a dedicated Nvidia 525m Graphics Card.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Compaq Presario CQ56-115dx and an HP 16gb flash drive that will not work with the computer. The flash drive works with my HP Pavilion laptop, but not with the Compaq. I have a 4gb HP flash drive that works with the computer just fine, along with a few SanDisk ones. I don't think that it's the USB drivers because my other flash drives work with the computer just fine. I really need to use the flash drive to back up information from the Compaq computer.

While installing bluestacks, it displayed an error stating not able to recognise the graphics card in the system.

Any safe update for the same if available.

I have inspiron 15r se with 1TB HDD.
I would like to add a mSATA card to my system to be able to use IRST.
I am skeptic because I have read online that systems which were not shipped with 32 GB mSATA card, doesn't have mSATA port for later installation.
When I purchased the system at that time dell had the option for adding 32 GB mSATA card in the customization section, but now dell has removed the whole customization section from the website. And in the pre-configured models, there is no option for mSATA card.
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Y560 which had both Intel and AMD drivers installed correctly, switchable graphics was also functioning properly.
Â
The problem started when I tried to update the 2010 AMD driver with the latest one (2011) on the officail Lenovo site. The install seemed to run through, but informed me that there were warnings during the installation. I opened the linked log file, but it did not include any errors or warnings, only that the installation ran through successfully.
Â
As the driver version still showed that it was the 2010 driver which is installed, I uninstalled the driver, and tried to install the 2011 driver again after a reboot. It once again said that the installation was successfull, but with warnings (still no warning in the log file). When I tried to check the driver version, it turned out that the AMD graphics card is not visible in the device manager, not even as an unrecognised device.
Â
I then tried to install the old 2010 driver (the original driver installation files were already on my D: drive upon delivery), but got the same results as with the 2011 driver.
Â
Removing any AMD/ATi related programs did not work either, I still get a "finished" installation with warnings, and a log file without warnings or errors.
Â
OS is Windows 7 (64bit)
GPU:Â ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 (+Intel HD...)
Switchable graphics is turned on in BIOS.
Â
how I could get the system to recognise the attached ATi graphics card, or at least realize that it is there?
