Sony :: Is It Possible To Connect An Xbox360 To A Vaio F Series Notebook
Mar 13, 2010
I heard that you could buy cables to connect the xbox360 to a computer monitor which should also work on a laptop and I'd like to know if it was possible to connect the 360 to the F series notebooks?
I want to use my notebook to do a presentation in class. However, no matter which projector I connect to my Vaio SZ440, the display is unable to be shown on the projector.
I've tried Fn+F7, not working, tried stamina mode, not working, tried speed mode, not working. I've tried "Connect to a projector or other external display", not working. I've no idea what I should do. I really need to fix this or else I'll get screwed this semester. Every other notebook the projector connects to, it will automatically detect and show the display. Only mine is like this.
Please help. About 1 year ago I didn't experience any problem when connecting to a projector. I didn't remember what exactly I do to make it go bad. But I really need it to work this semester.
i'm planning on buying the new Z when its available and i decided if i'm spending that much money on a laptop i'm going to need a heavy duty case to carry it in. So the case i was thinking about carrying it in is a Pelican 1090cc or the Pelican 1080CC if the Z could fit. I just had a few questions, will the Z and the adapter fit or just the Z? and also will this case because it is padded, add to much pressure on the screen causing it to leave permanent marks for the keyboard or palm rest?
Website: [url] [url] [url] Without the computer lining, has the pick and pluck foam (i choose what squares to take out to fit my laptop)
Round up: 1. Will the Z fit in the 1080cc? 2. Will the Z fit in the 1090CC? 3. Will the adapter fit in either or both? 4. Computer lining or Pick and pluck foam? 5. Will the pressure from the padding cause enough force for the screen to be permanently marked?
Trying to install OS with external CD/DVD drive to no avail. Have done everything possible including:
-tried 3 different externals drives
-attempted BIOS BOOT ORDER: BOOT FROM CD/DVD and tried REMOVABLE DEVICE setting
-attemped 'esc' one time BOOT ORDER at startup...attempted both CD/DVD and REMOVABLE DEVICE
System doesnt recognize EXTERNAL CD/DVD in BIOS....only in WINDOWS..after machine fully starts up. Looked for any kind of UPDATE for DRIVERS OR BIOS on SONY SUPPORT for this model...there is none.
I have dv6700 which came with a s-video out and I cant thank it enough for the countless times it has come in handy. Now my friend bought her dv4t and it came with a vga-out only. I know there is a HDMI port, but we are trying to connect to a SD-TV here and that doesnt support HDMI. I bought a vga-to-rca adapter in the past to use with IBM T60 notebook and it didnt work on that. Probably that notebook inherently didnt support tv-out from that vga port. Does HP notebook have the capability to do tv-out from vga port and if yes, what do I need to connect it to a standard definition tv set?
I'd really like a SSD drive as I need speed over storage. So I'm wondering if it possible to install a SSD drive in a Vaio SR laptop. What do I do about drivers?
I have my choices down between a Lenovo X301 with a SSD and a Vaio SR210 without a SSD. I like the looks of the Vaio better, but I'm willing to pay for a SSD premium.
If anyone has had any success installing a SSD in a Vaio laptop(where SSD's are not an option) I'd love to hear about it?
I recently purchased an HP DV3510NR, which is an absolutely awesome laptop, but ive heard im able to use it to play my xbox on the screen. There are both a dvi and hdmi in and out on the laptop but I have no idea how I can get it to display the xbox, if its even possible.
I own an HP Envy dv6 Notebook PC, MOdel No.2CE243OCYT. It has an Atheros AR9485 802.11 b:g:n WiFi adapter. There is an HP update for that adapter, but when I updated it, I was unable to connect to the internet. I realize that this WiFi adapter is only for 2.5G. I had to refresh my laptop, then I had internet access again. I have not tried that driver update again, but TWC just updated my Cable modem to dual band using the 2.5G and 5G bands.I am afraid to install the Atheros update in my lapotop again because I don't want to go though the hassle of re-installing all my software pd[rograms again. Is there a dual band WiFi adapter that HP recommends, and is it easy to install?
I have an HP G60 Notebook PC with Windows Vista Home Premium, it's about 4 years old. I recently got a new Cisco Linksys E1500 wireless router, which is connected to my home computer. My laptop shows that it is connected to the home network, but it will not connect to the internet. Other laptops in the house are able to connect to the network and the internet. Mine seems to be the only one not working. Why isn't it working? What do I need to do to fix it? Â I've run network diagnostics. It says "A problem with you network router or broadband modem might be preventing an internet connection." I've unplugged both of these and tried again. It didn't work! I've also connected my laptop straight to the modem and it still didn't connect to the internet. I've tried resetting the network adapter. My IP settings are set to automatic. Â My internet connection wasn't a problem before last week (when I got a new router).
I have recently had my broadband upgraded to 5Ghz 100mbps however my HP ENVY m6-1310sa can't detect the 5G band. I just want to know if it has the right network card to do this, my laptop supports 802.11n which should be able to,yet still can't detect the 5ghz, whereas my phone and tablet can detect it. Â
I bought a new a HP 15 notebook PC which is unable to connect to wifi. I understand I need to install some drivers. Below are my product details; Â Hardware ID: Â PCIVEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_217F103C&REV_01PCIVEN_168C&DEV_0036 &SUBSYS_217F103CPCIVEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_028000PCIVEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_0280 Â Model: 15-d019TU Â Product number: F7Q00PA#UUF
my notebook is HP 15-r012tx Notebook  i can't conect to the wifi....when i press the connect battom for the wifi then it's gone...........and i can't install that softower {Qualcomm Atheros QCA9000 Series Bluetooth 4.0+HS Driver for Microsoft Windows 8.1} when i go to instoll that softower...it's show me like that (the device may not be present or could have been ejected/unplugged from the systeminsert or reinsert now)
I have a problem with my HP Envy dv6 notbook. It can't find and connect to the wifi. But the other laptops in the house do. And when I can make connection its very weak and shut down continuous.  technical information: producktname: HP ENVY dv6 Notebook PC producktnumber: D4F57EA#UUG operating system: Windows 8.1 64 bits Bios: F.22 Network: Intel(R) centrino(R) Wireless-N  2230     version: 15.12.0.6
I have recently updated to 8.1 it has worked fine. Last night my computer did the HP installs and now I cannot connect to my WiFi but can hotspot my phone.
I turned on my computer this morning after a Windows  update and it wouldn't allow me to connect to my wifi. Initially it said that I was manually connected to an old network but I deleted that and tried to manually connect to my home network but no luck. I worked through all the trouble shooting options and checked to see if the driver was up to date (it was) - all without success.  My computer allows me to connect an ethernet cord to it and the router and use the internet that way. I know it's not the router because I use the internet wi-fi with my iPad. Here are some specifics:  Product Model:           E4X87PA         Product Name:            HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11-e004au Notebook PC Driver:  Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn wi fi adaptor  When I look at the Driver details it appears it is a 32system driver whereas I believe I am running a 64 bit operating  system( but I might be misreading this as I don't know a lot about these things).
Basically just moved house and got Eircom broadband installed, my girlfriends laptop connected automatically, whereas my Compaq CQ60 Presario Notebook WindowsVista will not connect.I have checked so many different forums trying to fix this problem, but to no avail im afraid... it looks like there is an excellent internet connection.... but cannot go on the internet because it says "Unidentified Network local access only" Â The router I have is "atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi adapter", and the o/s I have on my laptop is Windows Vista 32 bit. Â In our previous residence we had UPC broadband, and I had no problems at all connecting.
I have HP Envy 15-171nr notebook pc installed with Windows 8.1 pro. Since past 2 to 3 days I was not able to connect my mobile phone to the laptop through bluetooth. So I removed my phone from the paired device and again tried to pair it with my laptop, but I couldn't pair it. So I tried to reinstall the bluetooth driver from HP Recovery Manager. It was notified that the installation was successful but after that there is no bluetooth icon the PC Settings where I can switch on/off bluetooth. There is no bluetooth icon in the Device Manager as well.Â
I'm wondering if the Blu-ray optical drive (Panasonic UJ-232A) of the (old) VAIO Z series will be able to fit into the (new) VAIO Z series? I would really appreciate it if anyone is able to answer my question.
The reason I'm asking is because I'm seriously thinking of selling my VAIO Z690 & just buying the base Sony VAIO Z (VPCZ112GX/S). I may just be able to afford that base model & the icing on the cake will definitely be the UJ-232A drive being able to fit into the (new) VAIO Z series & work.
Am planning to get a sony laptop for me. The design simply rocks I am getting mixed reviews about cw and E series. But i made up my mind to get one.
My budget is aroung 40000rupees. Thats around 800$. So suggest me a better one between these two for occasional moderate and less(mosltly) demanding games. I dont care whether its 14 or 15 inch.
Am looking at lower end versions of both the models.
Only difference is CW uses Nvidia Geforce 310 and the E series uses some Radeon 5000 series one. CW has 14 inch screen whereas E series has a 15.5 inch screen. In the models which i am looking at both have matte finish and both has WXGA:1366 x 768 VAIO Display.
which one should i go for. whether the screen quality will be on par to Inspiron one atleast? ( I dont need HD).
im planning on using the laptop for videos, photoshop and a bit of gaming, maybe even a bit more gaming :-)
The Vaio F Series only has 330M Nvidia Graphics Card with i7QM and up to 8GB of Ram and up to 256GB SSD.
The E Series has ATI 5650 (a less powerful version, reduced clock speed) combined with a i5 520M with up to 6Gb of Ram and up to 500GB of HDD ? Why can i not choose SSD ?
I recently bought a Sony Vaio VPCS117GGB. Specs: Core i5 520, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, Geforce 310, 2Kgs.
Coming from a Macbook Pro this laptop is quite similar to the unibody macbooks (except the size and battery life). However there are a few annoyances with this Sony.
1) When i close the lid the notebook goes to sleep, however when I open the lid, unless I press any button, windows does not wake up. Is there a way to enable this .....
Finally pulled the trigger on a Vaio S Series CTO from SonyStyle Japan. I had a limited budget ($1500), and with the really poor dollar/yen exchange rate right now, couldn't load it up like I wanted.
Still, looking forward to the expected delivery date of late March. Here's what I got for $1,630:
- Core i5-540M (2.53GHz) - SSD 128GB - Windows 7 Ultimate (Need this to switch the Japanese OS to English) - 2GB RAM (DDR3 1066) (Skimped here to keep the initial price down. Will probably add more later.) - Intel Integrated Graphics (Don't do any gaming) - DVD Super Multi-Drive (Optical Read/Write DVD Drive) - 3-yr. Basic Warranty.....
The new Sony Vaio Z series only comes with SSD option for North America. Is there anyway to either replace the SSD with a HDD or to add a HDD after purchase? I need plenty of internal storage and even the 255GB SDD option in Z116GX/S will be insufficient.
