it came with vista business installed, and replaced it with XP Professional.
so after that i realise that the clock changes automatically once i restart the computer.
the BIOS time is OK. and i have checked the clock config and all is OK.
can you tell me whats going wrong with it.

3.After some time.
4.It is automatic restart after some time

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter i uninstalled Android Studio last night, I was prompted to restart my laptop to apply changes. I clicked yes, after the reboot however I no longer had my full screen display(1280x800) and there is a black bar to the right side of the screen.
I have tried updating/uninstall/reinstalling my graphics driver(Intel Hd Graphics 3000) and the bar is still there. No option to scaling,(set at Maintain Display Scaling)
I tried taking a picture to display the black bar on m monitor using print screen but the black bar does not show when I paste into paint.
OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit
Laptop: HP Pavillion g6 2230us
I re-downloaded Mozilla Foxfire and when the msg said I need to restart my computer freezes and I have a blue screen that says restarting and just hangs there.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 15r and a Dell v313w I purchased in November 2010, both are wireless and connected through a gateway/router that have been very great over the years but about a year or so ago I noticed each time I would try to print out multiple documents I could only get one document to print out, it could include one sheet or many sheets . Any others documents would be stuck in the print queue listed as " printing " but would never print out unless I restarted the computer then it would print out all documents one after another just as they had been entered complete with all sheets per document accounted for and in correct order.
After the printer had finished printing all the documents if I needed to print another document I would have the same headache all over again and the document would remain in the queue until I restarted the computer again.I'm not a spring chicken by any means and have to think logically went operating the computer or installing software so many of the technical jargon is something I really don't understand.
Last night, my Macbook Pro froze on me while I was running Windows XP on VMWare Fusion, so I forced shutdown by holding the power button for five seconds.
Ever since, I have not been able to boot the OS at startup. The Apple logo shows up, then the status dial thingy below, and then a grey "curtain" comes down with a "You need to restart your computer" message in multiple languages.
The problem is, it freezes at that point, and it won't let me restart. So I have to force shutdown again by holding down the power button, and the problem repeats.
Sometimes when I try to reboot, it freezes as the grey "curtain" is coming down and before the "You need to restart your computer" message even shows up, so I don't know what is going on.
I have a brand new xps16, running wonderfully.
I've modded the desktop Catalyst 9.4 drivers, games perform well, better than the provided Dell Catalyst.
What I would like to do however, is be able to alter the GPU clocks. Not by much, just a little.
I've tried AMD GPU clock tool; but this does not let me fix new clock values for the ATI 3670. I enter a new value, and they revert to the default right away
Do Vaio Z Series laptop owners use their laptop as their main primary computer or a secondary computer? Do Vaio Z series owners also have a desktop pc as their primary computer and use their Vaio Z Series as a secondary computer? Or is your Vaio Z Series laptop your one and only computer that you always use? Is it comfortable using the 13 inch screen for long periods of time?
Reason i ask is some people have more then one computer and some people just have one.
I'm just wondering if the Vaio Z Series laptop is a good choice as a main computer since it's got good specs and it's nicely portable but will the 13 inch screen be ok to use for long periods even at the higher 1600 x 900 resolution?
I was installing something and my laptop crashed. Now since I have the voltages set too low. I can't get myself back into windows. How can I reset the voltage during bootup?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI ordered a FW490 CTO w/ P8700, 4650 1GB, 4GB RAM, Vista 64, etc. Anyways, I was a little disappointed with how well it ran Americas Army 3. I downloaded and ran GPUZ, and I got some interesting results... It says that my 4650 uses GDDR3 memory, which is apparently the best setup for the card, but it also reports that my clock speed is 450 MHz, and my memory clock speed is 600 MHz. From everything I have gathered, that is below what most 4650 Mobilitys are at... what gives? What are the speeds of everyone elses 4650?
View 10 Replies View RelatedHave a Vaio Z112 with the Nvidia 330M. I know this gpu should slow down to ~150mhz when only running 2D apps. Looking at nvidia system tools and nvidia precision tool mine always seems to run at the full 475mhz regardless of what I'm using.
Anyone else experience this? Did Sony write out the slow speeds in their drivers due to the assumption we would switch to intel graphics when needed?
In nvidia system tools there is an area that shows 2d/3d clock speed. normally you would expect to see ~150/475 there...I only see 475. Basically it looks like there is no 2d-only clock speed.
I have had some strange things happen on my Sony Vaio SZ.
I returned from holiday (two days away) and brought my SZ back up from hibernation mode. It hung after I logged in. Rebooted it, and it came back after I put the battery back in and disabled wifi. Not that these actions indicate a problem with either wifi nor the battery (which died back in 2006).
However, it is running rather slowly. I installed the benchmark programme called Performance Test, ( http://www.passmark.com/products/pt.htm ) from an Australian company. It informed me that the T2600 (2.16Ghz) was actually running at 1.006Ghz. On top of this it gave an overall performance rating of 276, which is extremely poor for a Vaio SZ.
The original Sony Windows XP installation was removed a long time ago and an OEM XP Pro and SP3 was installed with a selection of specific drivers for the Vaio SZ components.
i did a reformat but during it, it froze up and i had to force a shut down. when i turned it back on it continued from the same place and finished fine it seemed. but then it kept freezing up every 20minutes or so, or when it seemed like the processor couldnt handle what was going in. i started to think maybe it was overheating so i set it to adaptive and put the fan speed on level 5. it still freezes up but it takes longer to do so. its really annoying. i tried reinstalling all the drivers and everything and it kinda fixed it but it still freezes up. anyone know whats wrong? im ready to just smash this thing because ive been having important things to do and it keeps doing this crap.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am looking at the Sony VGN-FW378J/B. One of the features I like about it is the Blu Ray. I rent mostly Blu Ray from Netflix as I have the PS3 and can watch them. My girlfriend doesn't so I figure I am in the market for a new notebook, I may as well get the Sony with Blu Ray and HDMI and I can take it to her house and watch Blu Ray on her TV through my laptop. I didn't think anything of it until I was listening to a computer show where they said that some computers won't allow you to play the Blu Ray through the TV.
They called it "mirroring" I believe. Either something in the hardware and DVD protected it from playing on the TV.
So My question is, has anybody hooked their Sony notebook to their TV through the HDMI cable and played a Blu Ray movie? And if it did work how was the quality?
when i put my computer into sleep sometimes i slide it onto a table, or put it in my backpack (inside a case) and now and then it will be back on when i go get it again.....
I tested it out and opening and closing the lid/pushing buttons doesn't wake it, the only thing i can do to wake it is push the power button which is sunk in (its an sr series)
I'm having the following issue with myVaio-Z550n:
On random occasions, when I set the computer to sleep or hibernate (they seem to trigger this problem equally), the computer screen will go black, the fan kicks into a steady overdrive and on/off button's green led remains solidly lit -as if the computer were still on.
The only way to fix the problem is to manually power down the computer by depressing the the on/off button.
It happened under Windows 7 RC and it is happening under Windows 7 32-bit home premium as well. I haven't used Vista for quite sometime so I don't know if is an OS-triggered issue.
Anecdotally, it seems to occur more often when I close the lid to put it into sleep, rather than do it manually through the start menu.
It also appears to be occuring with more regularity in recent days. Before it was like 10% of the time... now it is something like 30%.
I know that in the power options you can change what pressing the power button does, but "lock" isn't an option. Before I upgraded to Windows7, I discovered how to set this but I can't figure out how to do it anymore.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought a sony vaio laptop a little over 2 years ago. I never had a problem untill about 4 monthes ago. I got the "blue screen of death". It said something about the BIOS but would never stay on long enough for me to totaly read it. I went to Best Buy and asked if they had any ideas.
The guy said to contact Sony and get a recovery disk, so i did. I ran the cd but half way through it I got another blue screen that read:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

Does anyone here use RM Clock to undervolt their CPU's for better battery life and production of less heat with regards to the CPU.
I use it and the lowest I can set it to is 0.95, I have selected mobile in the advanced settings CPU type. My results are:
T8300 CPU
8x-10x multipliers set at 0.95
11x at 0.975
12x at 1.00 .....
i am looking at dell laptop, inspiron vs latitude (both have lots of promotion going on recently)
according to wiki, both e6400 and e6500 can support ram clockspeed at 800mhz, but i can't find similar information about the inspiron models.
Would like to UNDER clock the AAO. I did a forum search but could not find anything. I'd like to UC it because it'd get better battery life and not get as warm as it does.

issue with my m4400-clock is falling behind... it all started like this- couple of days ago I put it into sleep and it suddenly turned off.
When I got home, i couldn't start it-froze on windows loading scene... then I went into bios-guess what time/date was set 25:06:66 of 33/11/22 - I corrected everything and it booted normally-but clock is falling behind! I tried format and bios update-
i have ati hd4650 1gb gddr3 in this hp. should be 550 gpu clock and 667 memory clock. when i go to gpu-z graphic card tab it shows that values but when i go to the sensor tab it shows gpu core clock 220mhz and memory clock core 250 mhz.. it is on hp recommended power style. and interesting thing happens when i unplug it. memory clock core jumps to 396 mhz.. why is this so?
i checked power options and when its plugged in graphic should work for best performance.
I just got couple of days old Lenovo IdeaPad z50-75, running on AMD FX-7500.First I jsut now noticed that my CPU runs at 1.07 Ghz, before it was always over 2 Ghz or so which was good ... but maybe I touched something some where in powr settings or something and now it stays on 1.07 even when cpu pretty much utilised. I have set power plan to high performance and also Energy manager is set to high performance mode and Conservation mode is on. why it doesn't clock itself up ? I feel that it is slower than before.
