I am just wondering if someone could tell me what it means when the powerlight turns pink and the whole computer slows down?
This occurs when I try to run a game (i.e. Call of duty 5)
unplugging and plugging the power cord back in keeps the power light blue for a second or two and everything runs smoothly but then it turns back to pink and everything slows down by a ridiculous amount so its somewhat unplayable.
The laptop has been at Acer workshop twice and all they have done both times is replace the power cable which does not fix the problem.
Also, when the light is pink it seems that the battery is not charging anymore
last week i had 1 vertical pink line come on my screen and i dont know why because i hadnt dropped it or anything, but ever since i have been getting more and more of them until today when i turned it on and theres a big group of them.
I was wondering if i brought a new lcd for it would this fix this problem?
And also how easy are they to fit by yourself if you dont really know much about computers?
At first the power light was blue, and when I plugged it in the light around the power cord would light up, now its not doing that, and when I press the power button a little orange light flashes at the bottom for a few seconds and that is it. I bought this in a really big hurry, because I do school online. I do own and Alienware, and it was having network problems. So I found a guy who had this computer, and he turn it on for me, the power light was blue, he told me that it hadnt been plugged in in a while. He gave me a 90 day warranty, along with the charger. I brought it home set it on the desk and plugged it in. Left it on the charger for about 9 hours. Pressed the power button, a little orange light flashes at the bottom for a few seconds and thats it. My question is, is this savable? It could be a battery or it could be the charger. Those parts are not expensive, and I know a friend who could really use a laptop. Or should I sell it for parts..
my acer aspire 9300 switched off on me tonight, the power button lights up and i can feel air from the side heat exhaust, but nothing eles, and the same thing happens just on battery without the power lead plugged in.
My battery life was appauling (15 mins), so I decided to do a full discharge and recharge (Nothing to lose by doing it)
After this was done I loaded back into windows and checked my battery monitor, unplugged my laptop and waited 10 minutes.
It was still at 100% 10 minutes later.
I looked in another utility and it was reporting ludicrous values for Full Capacity - 920,643mWh (At this point I became very scared of the prospect of a Lithium Fire).
I worked out the capacity of my battery:
wattHour = ampHour * Volts
Ah of my battery is 2.0, and it provides 14.8 Volts
Max battery capacity: 29.6wH (29600mWh)
The program is reporting 29834mWh (Which seems like a perfectly acceptable value considering not all batts are the same)
Seems like the battery is still good... (It's certainly running longer than before, up to 30 mins so far).
I'm sure my battery is dying (3 years old), just this makes it seem like it isn't?
I was trying to replace a cracked screen and was having problems so tried to put the original one back in and order another one. However now when I power up the computer the front 2 lights - charging and lights come on but the hard drive doesnt even flicker nor does the wifi and the screen remains black. It doesnt even try to boot. SOmething else must have come loose or shorted I guess. Should I pull the laptop completely apart and check all connections now or what is likely to be the problem? Everything was working ok previously as I hooked the laptop with cracked screen up to a monitor and it worked perfectly before i started mucking about with the screen.
I have an aspire 5517 that will not boot up the power light comes on but nothing else happens. I've tried attaching an external monitor but it still won't work. All my stuff is on this computer and I need to at least back it up.
I have an Acer laptop model 5736. The screen won't light up but I can connect a VGA cable to my tv and see that the computer is working. ( i typed this on it). The screen started acting up a month or two ago and I could close it or re-position it and it would come back on. Today it stopped altogether. I watched a couple of videos on youtube on downloading bios, but that didn't work for me. When i tried to run the bios it said my computer was 64 bit and didn't support the 32 bit bios.
Just bought this laptop. When I press the power button, the blue light comes on but not the screen. I'm able to charge my phone but that's it. I have to turn the laptop on and off several times before the screen comes on.
I have an Acer aspire ES1-512-C5YW that has a flashing red light when turned on. The battery appears to be fully charged. What do I need to do to stop this ....
I'm trying to fix my fathers laptop so he won't have to spend money on a new one. Here's the problem:
When I press the power button to boot the laptop it does not boot, it just flashes the power light(s) on and off at maybe 1 flash per second. I've tried removing the RAM-sticks one and one, removing the HDD, removing the battery and removing the DVD reader (not all at the same time, of course). None of those helped, it still did the same thing.
Then I tried to blind flash the bios from a CD, the laptop comes on with the fan at full blast, the DVD reader comes on and it stays on, but it never finishes and powers off.
i have an older laptop (Acer Aspire 5100), Still works like new, but I was wondering what the average idle/ light usage temperatures are? Right now I'm getting a pretty solid temp reading at 45C, which I think it pretty good for a laptop. Anyone else have same/similar model (AMD D-C x64 TK-53 1.70 Ghz) that could give me there temps. Secondly I recently replaced the LCD and inverter. The inverter was for the orginal LCD but i got a matte screen instead of the glossy. I'm not sure whether it's always been like this since the original inverter, but i notice it get pretty warm over the plastic. I'm know there's quite a bit of voltage going through there, but it is it normal to get warm? (not burning temp, but noticeable hot/warm to the touch
Our Acer Aspire One 725-0845 will not charge. It is plugged in with the power cord, but the charging light does not blink and the amount of power left in the battery is dropping. I'm thinking it is:
1. a faulty power cord (Model R33030) or 2. a faulty battery
But do not know how to determine for sure, or if there may be a different issue. I have tried plugging into different wall sockets and playing around with the plug attachment to the computer, to no avail.
I bought my laptop like 1 month ago, and after update windows 8.1 Browinsg started extra slow, playing games with highest ping, While playing games i can see enemies but i cant do anything to them,After while when i opened my laptop i got black screen nothing was on only the power light were on. Somewhere say there is a unupdated BIOS...

Okay so my first question is this: Right now my wireless light is on showing that it's wireless, but if I close my laptop, or if it goes to sleep, and then I go back onto my laptop the wireless stops working and the light is off and it won't go on when I move the switch. I have a Aspire 5590
My second question is: I've hooked up a second monitor to my laptop I checked the settings and it works like this, if I move my mouse to the right and keep going, my mouse appears on the second screen. How can I make it so that the start menu and everything goes from the first to the second screen that way I can close my laptop, cause if I close my laptop screen it disables the second screen also/
I have an Acer as5570-2609 aspire laptop that will not boot up. It is like new, hardly been used. When I power it up, the fan comes on for about 3 or 4 seconds, and the hdd light flashes three times in a row, then waits a second or two, the flashes three times again, then goes black. The dvd drive ejects and will spin up a disc, but thats it. I tried swapping in a known good hard drive and nothing helps. I also tried re-seating a few of the easily accessible modules, such as the ram and wireless. I still have not seen a single flicker of the LCD screen. No beeps, nothing...
I have an Acer Aspire V3 551 8469. It is out of warranty. The indicator power light blinks 4 to 5 times and nothing happens after. I got adventurous and opened it up. I replaces the cord that receives the power coupling from the ac. Still not working. I was told it could be the motherboard but there is no guarantee that is the issue. If it is the mother board I will just have to get one and put it in.
On mostly when my charge is 96% the charging light starts blinking red continuously , some thimes it does not charge the laptop too , but after some time it starts again.
I had exactly the same problem with my Acer Aspire 5552G with win7, I tried all things that was online e.g. New battery, Flashing bios, Fn + esc without battery when trying to start the computer and so on.
It started now and then and worked perfect but when I shut it down again it could take me up to 50 tries to get it started.
The problem was issues with the boot sector on the hard drive!
Finally I made an Win7 repair disc and started from.
I also checked for errors on the hard drive and it repaired some sectors before starting windows.
After that it works like when it was new. The computer was bought January 2011.
My acer 7741z 4643 wont come on with the battery or plugged in all i get when plugged in is a blue battery light that blinks from bright and dims a little bit .....
I have an Acer Aspire 7740-6656 that shows no signs of life. I have tried removing and replacing the battery as well as trying different locations to plug into power. I have even tried removing battery and power supply and holding start buttom 30 seconds. Except for a green light on the power supply cord, still no signs of life. What if any are my options?
has anyone ever experienced a pink laptop screen before?
My case is this: what is supposed to be white is now pink e.g. the white page in Microsoft Word is now entirely pink, the white background of google is now entirely pink. I've ran my anti-virus scan and couldn't find anything wrong. I've looked on the net and I've found information regarding similar problems having to do with video cards. When I run a program like VAIO Recovery Centre as usual the box saying "A program needs your permission to continue" comes up. As it comes up everything in the background returns to normal (no more pink, except for within box itself), but I can see green lines across the screen.
My laptop is a Sony VGN-NR32M which I brought back in August.
I have an hp Pavilion g7-1150us Notebook that is approximately 3 yrs old. I turned it on the other day to find that the screen is all pink and green with lines etc... Is there an independent video/graphics card that can be replaced? I would like to be somewhat knowledgeable when taking it in to be repaired.
This machine was not dropped or damaged in any manner to cause this. Last couple of weeks when I open the LCD lid past 90 degrees upright, the LCD screen letters of words turn fuzzy and page colors change.
For example, if I push gently back on the LCD lid of my right now as I type here on this forum page, the white background of this web page turns 2 shades of pink with what looks like large square-like pink pixels. When I let up on the pressure, and the screen returns forward to 85 degress upright, the LCD screen colors of this web page go back to normal -- white is white and the image is sharp.
It is the entire page -- no pressure spots or issue limited to around the edges, its the whole screen that is affected.
LCD going bad or something else? This is definitely related to the angle of the lid and the issue is both position and pressure sensitive.
My first month with this brand new notebook was problems it gave me a blue screen and shut down on me. I thought it was normal being that it was my very first notebook. My hp pavilion notebook is only 3 years old but it now it has a blinking caps light and a orange light on the wireless key. I have tried to hard reset it but nothing works. I was use to it shutting down on me and restarting again but this time it would not come back on. I call Hp tech and now I'm being told this computer is obsolete and can't be fixed.
