I have an Acer 5741g. I booted it up a few days ago and discovered the screen was not displaying properly. I could see part of what should be displayed but the rest looked as if someone had wiped a wet rag over a painting.

I have an Aspire v5-571P Touch, running Windows 8.1, and for two years it's been awesome! But recently, it's stopped displaying low battery alerts. I've tried going to the Control Panel, Power Options, and using a different power plan. I've made sure that all of the power plans' advanced power settings are as follows (after a suggestion of upping the low battery level from 10% to 20%):

I've read an article that suggested updating the BIOS, though there's also a red warning on that page of the Acer website; "Upgrading your system BIOS incorrectly could harm your Acer Product. Please proceed with caution." So I was apprehensive. Any way before I attempt updating the BIOS.
I purchased Aspire E5-571 series laptop from a store in Chemnitz, Germany on 29th of Oct 2014. From the date of purchase, I find that when ever I right click on Desktop, it is taking 15-20 seconds of time to display various options. When I searched on internet, I found that some process which are incorporated by INTEL are the main reasons for this cause. But I am worried that whether my graphics card works properly or not with out these process. The following are process that I disabled.
After disabling these process, my problem was recitified on my own. But I wanted to know whether there is any solution other than this. I tried reinstalling graphics, Touch Pad drivers.
I have an Aspire 4520 laptop with Visa SP1 which will only start after the second attempt. The first try, it will get to where the little green lines run across then they stop halfway. I have to power off and start it again. It usually (but not always) takes me to a screen asking me to either Repair or Start windows normally. If I choose to repair, it does it's thing then says that the repair was unsuccessful so I've been choosing to 'Start windows normally' and its starts up ok.

I thought the problem was the cpu temperatures... 60º-65º idle, and just open a few windows it reachs at 75º-80º, and stay in this temps.
Notebook Hardware Control, lets make undervolting. So I make some test... and just when the cpu loads at 100% the audio works properly, clean and perfect. If cpu loads under 80% the audio sounds... but defective, not clean...
Built in mic on my Aspire 5738ZG don't work properly when I use Skype. I'm on windows xp, 32 bit. I installed Audio Realtek drivers from Acer officialy web site but sound of mic is still very low. Other people said that they hear me very bad when we talk on Skype for example. What I can do?

Hovering over the speaker icon gives me the text, "No speakers or headphones are plugged in." I use the internal speakers, and I always have my headphones plugged in. Audio playback troubleshooting doesnt give me anything (though at one point during my progress, it said that my audio device was disabled.)Â

Device management has been confusing at best. I can't seem to get the Realtek W8.1 drivers to properly download, even after finding the Acer-support driver.
It keeps displaying I changed the setting in power options but it didn't work, it worked on my other laptop that I had a long time ago...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a refurbished Studio XPS 16 with the 1080P RGB screen and was very disappointed. It did not seem very bright and was unable to accurately reproduce the color 'white'.
Everything that was supposed to be white (windows explorer background, wordpad, etc) seemed blue-grayish. I ended up returning the laptop but was just wondering if this is a common issue or if I had a dud.
I would love to order another Studio XPS 16, but only want to do so if this is not a problem with all the 1080P RGB displays.
I recently bought Acer aspire E15 model E5-572G-5577 which came with i5-4210m (2.6 to 3.2Ghz),8GB RAM,Nvidia GeForce 840M 2GB dedicated VRAM,1TB HDD and freeDOS. Since i recieved Win8.1 x64 for my Birthday i bought this laptop without windows and installed 8.1, as Acer claims that fully supports this OS.
Everything was ok in installation and i even installed HD4600 driver but when installed Nvidia driver although it looked ok and it was shown in device manager the graphic card wasn't show in my display (only HDGraphics) and in nvidia control panel i had only the 3D settings option but still it seems that 840M hasn't kicked in.
I assume its the driver so after many attempt with different drivers i still have the same issue. The laptop is brand new and in OEM 8.1 it seems to work but not for all of us that have a bought copy of Windows. I have wasted so much money on a Acer with 840M GPU that wont work.
I have recently updated my system and now the silver volume keys and fn+birghtness no longer display. Am running T500 with XP SP3. Have reinstalled the power manager and UtlraNav with no results.

I searched around for other people having the same problem and the one solution I got was to change Hkey_Local_MachineSoftwareWidcommBTConfigGeneral KeyIndication to 0, but that's already set to 0 for me, and I'm still getting notifications. The solution with removing "lockkey.exe" is not working as well. I just don't have program like this.
As noted above. Seems to be no power going to CD rom. light does not come on. door does not open, does not play cd.

A couple days ago I tried turning the laptop on, and it just went to an all black screen.
I could not click/type anything (nothing worked), and I couldnt open the CD drive.
After a few minutes, the laptop shut down by itself.

Recently I noticed that my touch screen sometimes starts to hits randomly at the bottom of the screen. This problem cause some windows became minimize and maximize on its own and when i'm watching video, the video keep pause, play and pause again. I tried to find any crack on the screen but found nothing.Â

i have an acer 9303WSMi. i was watching a video on youtube, but the sound wasnt working properly. so i restarted my computer, and when it began to turn back on, the screen remained blank, and it made 1 long beep sound, followed by 2 short ones. i have looked this up and it apparently means that it has a problem with my graphics card. now i have 2 quesions. firstly, can my lapotop be fixed by me? secondly if not can it be fixed if i send it off to someone, and iof so roughly how long will it take for it to be fixed and returned to me?

Why is this? The BIOS is version 1.19 and there are newer ones. Should I consider an update? Is this a memory remappin issue

I own a Studio 1555 and i am having this peculiar problem with my onboard LAN connection. The LAN cable is connected to the NIC, yet it is displaying cable not connected. I need to reconnect the cable (remove it from the NIC and reconnect it) and it displays cable is connected and the connection ensues. Once i restart the machine, the same is displayed and i will have to reconnect the cable once again in order to get connected.
I do not want to reconnect the cable every now and then, when i reboot the laptop..
I just happened to notice it. Is this a sign of falty memory? What gives? Here is a picture
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy Aspire M (1.5 years old) was making a horrible noise, so I opened it up to find a very dirty fan. Â I cleaned the fan, but it still made noise. I bought a new fan and installed it. After closing it up and turning it on, it only gets to the ACER screen and then recycles.

I probably inadvertantly corrupted the BIOS, or is it something else? Â Can I flash the BIOS without having a working BIOS?
