1) Backlight not working, not sure whether I've this service or not because I can't see anything in Windows Mobility Centre
2) Keyboard and mouse pad works in safe mode but not in normal mode.
When I tried to remove Cypress trackpad, only mouse pad worked, not keyboard. Now only keyboard is working after Cypress trackpad reinstallation? I've tried to resolve it many times using drivers updater but failed all the time.

Jan 13, 2015I was replacing y HDD in the laptop with SDD. The laptop is acer 4830TG, it had 512GB HDD WD. Replacing it with Kingston SSD 480GB.
The SSD is not detected at startup of the laptop, while it is detected on another machine, I also tried another SSD on the acer and it was detected (the other SSD is 120GB). Is this a sort of compatibility issue ?

Nov 11, 2014I have found that mouse etc only works from usb3 slot not from other 2 slots, have tried reinstalling drivers for chipset and usb3 ... I can run a fan stand from other 2 but that is all.

Apr 6, 2009When Windows is finished loading my touch and key pad seems to turn off. My device manager does not indicate any problems with either. In safe mode everything works fine. Since I did not have anything valuable stored I used the acer recovery and had it reinstall Windows fresh. After that, it seems to work fine with no problems.
Auto updates starting downloading and after updates are installed I have the same problem again. I have done this procedure a few times. I have also install AVG Anit virus and thought maybe thats what was doing, so this last time I did not re install the anti virus.

Jun 18, 2008i have an acer 9303WSMi. i was watching a video on youtube, but the sound wasnt working properly. so i restarted my computer, and when it began to turn back on, the screen remained blank, and it made 1 long beep sound, followed by 2 short ones. i have looked this up and it apparently means that it has a problem with my graphics card. now i have 2 quesions. firstly, can my lapotop be fixed by me? secondly if not can it be fixed if i send it off to someone, and iof so roughly how long will it take for it to be fixed and returned to me?

I tried removing the wireless dongle for my Microsoft wireless mouse but no improvement  --  I simply swapped this MS mouse from my old W510 without doing any formal install. Â

This doesn't appear to be a hardware problem since the keypad keys have some effect  --  just not the intended effect.
Acer :: Aspire 4520 Not Starting Properly
Nov 22, 2008I have an Aspire 4520 laptop with Visa SP1 which will only start after the second attempt. The first try, it will get to where the little green lines run across then they stop halfway. I have to power off and start it again. It usually (but not always) takes me to a screen asking me to either Repair or Start windows normally. If I choose to repair, it does it's thing then says that the repair was unsuccessful so I've been choosing to 'Start windows normally' and its starts up ok.

I thought the problem was the cpu temperatures... 60º-65º idle, and just open a few windows it reachs at 75º-80º, and stay in this temps.
Notebook Hardware Control, lets make undervolting. So I make some test... and just when the cpu loads at 100% the audio works properly, clean and perfect. If cpu loads under 80% the audio sounds... but defective, not clean...

Hovering over the speaker icon gives me the text, "No speakers or headphones are plugged in." I use the internal speakers, and I always have my headphones plugged in. Audio playback troubleshooting doesnt give me anything (though at one point during my progress, it said that my audio device was disabled.)Â

Nov 17, 2014I recently bought Acer aspire E15 model E5-572G-5577 which came with i5-4210m (2.6 to 3.2Ghz),8GB RAM,Nvidia GeForce 840M 2GB dedicated VRAM,1TB HDD and freeDOS. Since i recieved Win8.1 x64 for my Birthday i bought this laptop without windows and installed 8.1, as Acer claims that fully supports this OS.
Everything was ok in installation and i even installed HD4600 driver but when installed Nvidia driver although it looked ok and it was shown in device manager the graphic card wasn't show in my display (only HDGraphics) and in nvidia control panel i had only the 3D settings option but still it seems that 840M hasn't kicked in.
I assume its the driver so after many attempt with different drivers i still have the same issue. The laptop is brand new and in OEM 8.1 it seems to work but not for all of us that have a bought copy of Windows. I have wasted so much money on a Acer with 840M GPU that wont work.
