On my acer 5920g, I've installed XP and all drivers without problems, but my sensor keypad does not work like media buttons, but just like single click on touch pad. Which driver I've miss? I've also installed lounch manager driver and nothing happens.

1) Backlight not working, not sure whether I've this service or not because I can't see anything in Windows Mobility Centre
2) Keyboard and mouse pad works in safe mode but not in normal mode.
When I tried to remove Cypress trackpad, only mouse pad worked, not keyboard. Now only keyboard is working after Cypress trackpad reinstallation? I've tried to resolve it many times using drivers updater but failed all the time.

I've been browsing through the Acer website to try and find the forceware updates to no avail
where the hell do you download forceware updates for the 5920G or for acers in general?
I've got an Aspire 5920G with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 graphics card/chipset. Up until last week, I'd been running with whatever drivers had been installed when I originally purchased the laptop in October last year.
Vista's Windows Update told me of new drivers for the 3470 that had been released in January, so I promptly downloaded them, glad to have something a little more up-to-date, since the laptop is being used frequently as a lightweight gaming machine. The driver, according to Device Manager, is dated 15/01/2009, and is version number 8.580.0.0.
My problem now is that every time I boot the machine, an ATI warning appears reading the following:
"The Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enable graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics driver, or enable your ATI adapter using the Displays Manager."..................
I will migrate to Vista Ultimate 64bit SP1 soon.
So I need drivers for my 5920G.

But, is that really a driver for Vista 64bit SP1? Or is it just for the old Vista 64bit? (not for Service Pack 1)? or it's all the same and won't have a problem if installed to 64bit SP1?

I have a T500 (LENOVO 2081CTO ThinkPad T500) running W7 32 bit. Been working fine since September 10. Today when simply trying to logon the fingerprint sensor has stopped working. Laptop had not even been moved, simply resting on desk and then switched on from powered off.
A few times since have received message that "USB device is being installed" with finally "USB Device could not be installed. There is a problem with your device." Device Manager showed a problem with "USB Composite device"
Powered off/on gave same symptom.
Downloaded & installed latest fingerprint software 7wf162ww.exe. Installed OK. USB device appeared to then automatically pick up and reinstall correctly. BUT still unable to use fingerprint to logon or for with Thinkvantage Client Security.
Using Thinkvantage Lenovo Fingerprint Software gives error "Cannot communicate with sensor. Please confirm the sensor is ready."
I've also noticed the keyboard around the fingerprint sensor is very warm, almost hot. As if it is being constantly turned on?
Fingerprint sensor is AuthenTec Inc. AES2810

View 4 Replies View RelatedI replaced HDD with SSD on my new 7347, and then did a clean install of "Windows 8.1 Enterprise N" in order to be able to run Hyper-V virtual systems. I have applied all Windows 8.1 updates and installed Dell 7347 drivers and updated the BIOS to A03. All is working except screen auto rotation.The Device Manager indicates that HID Sensor Collection has a driver problem and cannot start as shown below:
Clicking on the HID Sensor Collection shows the unable to start (Code 10) issue.Is there some other DELL driver I need to install? My acer loaded in xp as normal but my keypad and mousepad were unresponsive so i did a clean install with xp(not acer recovery) that ran through to when you do user input and froze again now i have a new hd and the same thing is happening except when i load into safe mode then everything is fine,

i cant even go to Bios by pressing F2. only sometimes Fn+F6 works.
When Windows is finished loading my touch and key pad seems to turn off. My device manager does not indicate any problems with either. In safe mode everything works fine. Since I did not have anything valuable stored I used the acer recovery and had it reinstall Windows fresh. After that, it seems to work fine with no problems.
Auto updates starting downloading and after updates are installed I have the same problem again. I have done this procedure a few times. I have also install AVG Anit virus and thought maybe thats what was doing, so this last time I did not re install the anti virus.
I am using aspire 4830TG some of my keypad not working properly ..... and my warranty expired .........

When trying to register a fingerprint for a pring the Wizard software tels me 'unable to detect fingerprint device'.
However it shows in the Device Manager.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter a short period of use my xps13 first edition ceases to accept keypad inputs. I just get a ping and nothing happens. Called premium tech support and not solved. Ticket still open and machine still useless. Pity as after having had so many dell products, what should have the "wow" factor has the "whoops" factor. I have resorted to an external keyboard, but that is hardly the elegant nor portable solution for which one had hoped.

i haven't installed any software, third party application or anything else like that which interferes with my keypad functioning.
I tried to update the drivers for the keyboard from device manager but it showed that the driver is already up to date.
I also checked the ribbon that connected to the keypad with the system hardware and there is no problem in the connection there also.

My 5920G which I got for Christmas is giving me some problems.
I have gone to power options and and changed the settings so when I close the lid, nothing must happen. But when I come back in about 20 minutes after leaving the lid closed, there is no way of me getting the LCD to start up. The only way I can get past this is by pressing the power button in for a few seconds forcing it to shut down. Obviously this is bad for my notebook. How do I get this sorted out? The same thing happens if I leave the lid open and come back in a while.
I was just wondering if there was a numerical keypad that could be slotted into the utrabay port for the t400? I find the numerical keyboard in place of the letters very difficult to use and I'd imagine that using a numpad plugged in via USB would be quite annoying if I was on public transport.

im even more suprised to see that there are thermal pads all over my gpu and cpu

the weird thing is that the copper plate of the heat sink only touches the parts of the picture with the orange circle
should i put AC MX-2 on the areas where i found thermal pads or just on the areas where the copper plates of the heat sink touches the core

View 7 Replies View RelatedAcer 5920G won't charge. When I plug in the charger the light that normally comes on to indicate that it is charging does not light up and in windows the icon that indicates that it is charging does not come up either.
My PC is the Acer 5920G best buy configuration, about two years old and no components are overclocked.
I was using it when this happened, I just noticed that the light went off and then it wouldn't charge when I plugged in the charger. As far as I know all the other components work correctly though it does have poor battery life. I was downloading a large file so I had it running for about six hours straight if that makes any difference.
I've checked the charger itself and nothing came loose. The green light on the charger also lights up when I plug it in so it is probably not the outlet that is the problem plus I've tried it in multiple outlets.
I'm pretty sure its either the battery or the charger, but I would like to know for sure and get advice from anyone else who may have had this problem.
