My Acer Aspire L5100 , now can not start windows.

needed unit is not available.
I do not have the win disc, what to do now?
I have an acer laptop e1-571 with windows 8. the mb failed ordered a new one installed it. on boot now i get no bootable device. The bios shows the hard drive and its the first in the boot order. If i hit f12 after powering on to access boot options the 3rd choice is efi device windows boot manager. If i select that it boots normally and runs fine. is their a way to boot the machine without having to hit f12 every time and selecting efi device to boot to windows? i tried updating the bios as well.

When I try to hard reset it it won't turn off the fan will just start again. I have to plug out the AC so I can be able to power it again. And also last thing I remember is that the clock is not always on sync whenever I start it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion dv6-1107X Entertainment Series notebook. When I turn it on I get an inconsisent series of very loud short beeps nearly always in 3 groups. First group can be 4 to 6 beeps. Second group can be 1 or 2. Third group just goes on and on until the Windows Boot Manager pops up. Once I select the Vista operating system everything appears to start working as normal.
Here is what I have done:
1. Replaced motherboard and CPU
2. Checked and tested hard drive by diagnostic and in another machine - okay
3. Have used a known good hard drive in this machine - same symptoms, no change.
4. Checked and tested RAM stick in both slots, by diagnostic test and on another machine - okay
5. Did a Factory Default recovery - Operating System (OS) behaved erratically.
6. Did a Clean Install using another machine - OS works but same symptoms as above with beeps and Windows Boot Manager.
7. Installed all required drivers as required in Device Manager (after a LOT of problems trying to find the HP driver download support - I had to search for HP Compaq Pavilion dv6-1107AX to find a site that linked to the driver downloads).
8. Have run AVG anti virus, and 3 x anti spyware (Malwarebytes, Spybot and SuperAntiSpyware). Nil bugs founds.
9. Reset BIOS to defaults.
Am also having problems from time to time access BIOS. It takes several attempts but can be gained by pressing F10 immediately after the first screen with ESC option on it. Also have problems access Safe Mode using F8 but perseverance is required and it will work eventually.
i have a 2 day old laptop Aspire E1 with windows 7 wont start after welcome page screen stays black until i push ctrl alt del and then the task manager will start and i kill two procsess that say RUN ONCE then windows GO HEAD and start up and run fine .what is wrong .

Also after pressing F2 i did a hard drive quick test and i've had this result :Short DST : FAILED
No software or hardware modification/installation or anything was done in the past week. Also computer had no internet access for the past week so i doubt it can be a virus.
I installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on my Acer Aspire AS1410. Maybe it's normal, but the hard drive LED is solid on for about 30 seconds before it boots into Windows 7 during the floating windows screen. Is this normal?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an ACER ASPIRE 5755 laptop with 4GB RAM and 500 GB Disk. Now the issue I am facing is, it doesn't boot up. It just sits at a screen for sometime and then even if we reboot it goes to the same screen which is much prior to loading Windows and I believe just after the POST. I checked in the BIOS that hard-drive was not getting detected. I unplugged replugged ..took it out, put it back in but nothing worked. Than I removed that hard-drive and replaced it with a working hard-drive of my fren's & eventually it booted up fine. Hence this isolates to be an issue with the hard drive. Now my question is that, "is there any upper limit on the size of the hard-drive (as the inboxed one was 500GB)". I am planning to take 1TB hard drive. So will that work In addition to this, is there any link provided by Acer which I can browse and check what all Hard-drives are supported / compatible / recommended by Acer. I have been a big fan of Acer Laptops from a long time and would not want to buy a new laptop just because of this simple hard drive issue.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just buy an Acer Aspire V3-371, then I delete all partitions in HDD and install MS Windows and driver for this notebook. Everything are OK until I ugrade BIOS form v1.05 to v1.08. Now, it cannot boot to MS Windows and shows me "No Bootable Device".
I try to reinstall MS Windows, but I see a notice "Windows can't be installed on this drive" with details "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks".
ASPIRE 5251-1513 with 2 - 1GB memory sticks in it. The problem is after updating with microsoft updates and changing the useable memory setting to 0 Windows 7 will not start up.. so I tried to restore from earlier restore points. Windows 7 home premium still won't start up. I tried using the windows automatic repair, it fails after a few minutes. I tried resetting the BIOS to system defaults. Windows still won't start up.... says windows start up, but after a minute a black screen flashes and laptop shuts off. I don't have any recovery disks.

But when I plug in DVD or flash drive with windows, I don't get the boot option for it (in the f12 boot menu). If I put in the Win 8.1 DVD everything is fine. I can chose it from the menu.

After using the inbuild recovery manager on my Aspire one 753 my laptop will not conect to Wireless internet. I think the problem has somthing to do with drivers but i am not sure.

My daughter's Acer is 2.5 years old and it's running Windows 7. She recently rebooted it last week for a Windows Update and since then it starts up but hangs, with the hard drive light blinking slowly. I ran it in Safe Mode and it gets through CLASSPNP.SYS then hangs. According to articles this is usually a hardware problem. The only option I have with this OS is to bring up the Command Prompt. I've tried System File Checker - no go. System Repair comes back with unknown error and what looks like a bad Driver.
I was able to build a new partition (100+GB) and do a clean install of Windows 7 x64 Ultimate w/ SP1. This went through fine, though I would have to load the Acer drivers for the network card, etc. to finalize it. The point here is that this shows that the hard drive isn't the issue.
My fear is that Windows installed either some sort of driver or other update that has now caused the current OS on her laptop to be unusable. I went to do a System Restore and the only restore point it had was the Critical Update that she rebooted to on 2/13. Trying to roll back to that Restore Point didn't work.
I have an acer M3 581T which I bought about a year ago. Now, windows crashed and said there was a file missing. I am no longer able to boot up the system, I've tried the erecovery (alt f10) but it just proceeds and says it's not able to boot. I have no recovery cd/usb at hand. It is of my understanding that this ultrabook has two harddrives. One SSD on which the operating system is installed and one HDD with the other files on.What do I do to make it work again? I do not care if all my files are lost.

I have the three buttons working with the programs that I prefer, but, even though it is a small problem, I would like to program the email button to check for mail and blink when I have mail, just like it did in the 'old' days.
I know that the Launch Manager program is on the computer, because I programmed the keys, but I can't open it anymore. Double clicking on all the .exe files in Launch Manager get me nowhere.
