Acer's site does not list them. I was hoping they would be available by now.
So far a few with i3s have shown up in Amazon, but no sight of models with the i5.
Are Aspire models good for extended periods of time? Like 7 hours.
This is weird, only just noticed it. The dv7t is not really a dv7t anymore. Its screen ratio has changed. And is now available with ATI HD45xx and 46xx GPUs. Oh and, Quad Core Intel CPUs.

Looks like Apple's gone all-ATi now for discrete GPUs on the new iMacs. Could this be a sign that going forward, all MacBooks' discrete GPUs will be from ATi?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI always put 8 degree offset on my 2500M/7900GTX. I never questioned it before. But couple of days ago a guy wrote this on this forum (read bellow), so can someone comment or clarify this for me?
"I hit 87C in Crysis, so you're doing damn good there. DON'T use an 8 degree offset in FanGUI. ATITool reports wrong temps. To prove this, put your system to sleep long enough for all components to reach room temperature. Resume the system and immediately bring up FanGUI. You'll see with an offset that the GPU is for some reason about 8 degrees higher, when everything should be at room temperature. If you have no offset and then resume, you'll see that your temps are nearly identical, which they should be from a cold start up."

There's been plenty of coverage surrounding Nvidia's admitted "abnormal failure rate" among what remains an unknown number of GPUs, but in case you missed it, here's the Cliff Notes version: Earlier this summer, Nvidia announced it would take a one time hit of $150-$200 million to cover warrany and repair costs associated with a bad batch of mobile GPUs. The chip maker insisted (and still does) that the failures were an isolated incident, but that's come into question. News and rumor site The Inquirer has been particularly vocal in its questioning of how widespread the problem really is, bringing up the possibility that the defective parts could be affecting both mobile and desktop parts, including G92 and G94 based GPUs.
Now that you're caught up, it's TGDaily who's bringing more speculation to the table. Referencing industry sources, the news site claims that Nvidia's future 45nm GPUs that have recently entered the qualification stage are being built with high-lead solder bumps. Earlier speculation pointed to Nvidia having made the switch to eutecic solders in reaction to the GPU failures, and if that's the case, the switch to solder bumps raises more questions than answers as to what's going on, and whether or not the problem has been solved or is ongoing.
I just bought Lenovo G510 Laptop with Intel HD 4600 and Radeon 8750M. Everything fine exept the fact it doesn't switches GPUs when I play games. I tried everything. I set it the max performence when pluged in to AC and I set it to use max performance when playing games. Nothing works, the games show that the Intel GPU is working and the Radeon not. I have the latest drivers from Lenovo, I searched over the internet, nothing works. I just cant get the 8750M to work.Â
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer 5610-4610 system. It was repartitioned to one XP drive for several years. I am finally wanting to put the PQ service partition back on it but none of the folders of the restore CD's have any of the files needed to recreate this partition. I am wanting to put the factory (VISTA Home Premium) system on C. With all the system files and folders from the 3 restore CD's into the PQSERVICE partition. I have no clue how to proceed.
I do remember there was an acer(C) partition and a data (D) partition when I got it. The PQSERVICE partition was there back then.
The first (System) CD has none of the files mbrwrdos.exe or rtmbr.bin
used to create the PQSERVICE system.
I run the ACER Disk Formatter and it cannot find any drives on the laptop.
Weird! From what I've been able to glean my thought was that that the Formatter disk would facilitate creating the correct partitions?
im going to clean upgrade to win 7 64 bit, after i do that i know acer do drivers for web cam ect... but can i download acer software eg Empowering Technology, Acer Arcade Deluxe ect.

Recently I developed this simple application that lets you easily configure CineDash and other buttons functions on Acer laptops. This application, “Acer CineDash Config”, is mainly for mine purposes.
I tested it on my Acer 6935G and Windows 7 64bit version. It probably should work on other models and systems to.

I have a wireless network setup between my desktop w/xp pro an my laptop w/vista home preminum Acer 5570Z.
My laptop can open drives & folders on my desktop, but my desktop can't open drives or folders on my laptop it says I don't have permission. I fixed this once before but can't remember what I did.
I have an Acer 6930ZG with a fresh install of windows 7 RC 32bit. I can play Call Of Duty 4, Counter Strike, Flatout 2 etc. with no problems! But when I try to open MapleStory a blue screen appears, and begin to make a physcial memory dump? . MapleStory is a 2D-game, and Call Of Duty requires much more.
I made a little research, and I found out that alot of people have the same problem, and they said it was caused by a conflict with a program or hardware drivers. I have tried to delete my NVIDIA driver, and install it again. No luck.
And yes, I have also tried to run MapleStory in compatibily mode
As I said: It's only in MapleStory I experience the problem, and I don't think it's ram-failure, since I have seen the same problem on a different computer, and I can play Call of Duty 4.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI had vista installed on my laptop, Acer 6920, (first OS) and it was direct from factory so everything worked fine. I then installed ubuntu and everything still worked fine. I then deinstalled both of those to put on windows 7 RC where all my hardware was working perfectly (minus the fingerprint reader but i honestly couldnt care about that thing) so my computer eventually got pretty bogged down with crap to the point where boot was about 30 minutes. during this whole time my sound seemed to work, but near the end windows stopped finding any internal sound related hardware (the speakers and the mic). For other reasons i did a clean reformat (3 times) and reinstalled 7 Professional 32 bit and when i booted i downloaded all the drivers and everything seemed to install correctly, but when i rebooted the sound still didnt work nor did the mic. the exact error message windows is giving me is "No Audio Output Device found" however when i plug in a headset or a bluetooth adapter + headphones there is audio and it works perfectly. I really need sound to work as some programs crash if they dont detect a sound output and also for monitoring audio recordings.
I have tried installing all of Realtek's drivers. Literally all of them. None of them worked what so ever despite clean installs and deinstalls.
I now am running 64bit and ive almost given up on this problem. I bearly saved this computer and i dont wanna have to buy a new because of sucha stupid issue like this.

Under the hardware manager in windows there is no tree for sound devices. there was an unknown component which i put forceware on as i thought it was the sound device but no go.

ive just re-installed vista home premium on my acer travelmate 5320 but now the led for the wireless is reversed, so when the wifi is on the led is off and vice versa does anyone have any ideas whatsoever as i am at a loss with this one.

It has the media keys on the left side of the keyboard where i can control the volume, stop, pause etc. I reformatted my machine and reinstalled XP Pro. When i use the media keys there is no display on the screen of what i am doing. Was using the Acer Arcade and was informed about the latest patch by the Live Update.
I ran the install patch and during install the McAfee informed me that two of the files were trojams and had to be removed. The files were CL26934.RRA and CLDO7416.RRA, so now when I stick my blu-ray into the drive I get an unexpected error from the Acer Arcade and it won't run.
So where did the files go, and why would ACER put out a patch that conflicts with the pre-installed anti-virus?
