View 9 RepliesI have an Acer aspire 4315. When I switch on I get as far as the windows start up screen and then the screen goes blank and starts windows again. It I then get a screen come up asking me if I want to launch start up repair or start windows normally.
I have tried the start up repair and it says it cannot repair automatically. I have also tried to start in Safe mode but get the same result as above.
Looking for a Boot Disk or Start up disk for an Aspire 4720Z or a place to download one. She has been doing finals etc for the past week without it at college.

I havent fiddled with any of the settings on msn, so is there something i am doing wrong? or has anyone else had any similar problems with this laptop and msn webcams?
The webcam itself works perfectly when viewed in the webcam companion 2 software on the laptop.
Background:
A few days ago i bought an Acer 7730 laptop with Windows Vista pre-installed and no disks. After initial hesitation i have decided to keep vista and not downgrade to XP. After all there will be more service packs and tweaking should speed it up lots anyway.
However, i really want to get rid of the three partitions on the hard drive. There is only one physical hard drive but there are three partitions; a hidden 10GB one (EISA configuration) which from what i have gathered is now obsolete, a C: partition 111.44GB and a D: partition 111.44GB. There is no need to split a drive into several partitions now that we have the NTFS file system (unless you are using multiple operating systems of course - but i am not) so this is really annoying me.
I have made the 2 recovery DVD and the 1 applications/drivers DVD. I have an old WinXP disk that i can use to format the laptop if required.
Question:
Using the recovery disks (which i'm assuming contain a copy of my bought OEM Vista that was pre-installed on the laptop), can i delete the partitions, format the hard drive and install Vista onto a single c: partition?
I've done this exact process before with WinXP hundreds of times but i'm not sure whether i can do the same for Vista with just the 3 DVD mentioned...
I have a wireless network setup between my desktop w/xp pro an my laptop w/vista home preminum Acer 5570Z.
My laptop can open drives & folders on my desktop, but my desktop can't open drives or folders on my laptop it says I don't have permission. I fixed this once before but can't remember what I did.
Is the Acer 1410T webcam decent?
I am trying to decide between this laptop and the MSI Wind U210. Which one has the better webcam?
I've been having issues with Vista on this machine, so yesterday I decided to scrap Vista and all the Acer software and install XP Pro. Now I have XP Pro SP3 installed.
I Googled and downloaded the XP drivers needed for audio (RealTek), webcam (Suyin), etc, and while they work, I'm having problems. The webcam worked great before the switch to XP.
1. The webcam video quality is very poor, like an old tv that needs to be thrown out.
2. The audio pick-up of the built in microphone is extremely low. I've gone through all the adjustments I can find with no luck. This has actually gotten worse as I've tried to upgrade drivers and what-not. Before the audio quality was poor but it worked, now the audio is barely there at all.
I have been trying to upgrade drivers both from the Acer website and from other sources, but I'm not making any progress. I installed the drivers before upgrading to SP3 (which I had read was the way to go), but now that I have installed SP3 and am reinstalling drivers, it seems like things have gotten worse.
I've found out that the webcam is a Suyin, I installed drivers from acer website.. and the result is still terrible.
The webcam is so slow, like 1 fps. Even when not in videocall and using acer crystal eye webcam to set it, it's slow, pixelated and sloow.. I don't mind about the colour, yellowish but adjustable, but I do mind about the fps and quality.
I guess it's a driver matter, because the driver installed is the microsoft's standard one. But I couldn't manage to get better results, also some of the settings like auto and white balance or camera control are not selectable.
I have an XPS m1530 with the built-in webcam along the top of the screen. When running XP Pro on this laptop I can see a USB device called "Laptop Integrated Webcam" in Windows Explorer, and when I click on that device the camera instantly comes up on my screen
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis ones just a small problem. My webcam works fine, but it's missing on the menu and i can't locate it anywhere in my files so it's just a bit annoying if i want to make a video. It's not even in the manual (printed or computer version). It took three weeks before it appeared in the menu after I bought the laptop, but since I had to restore to factory default and god knows where it is, as i say it's only a minor problem, no location in services. and when i expand my Acer menus theres nothing there either.

I have the ACER 6920 Gemstone Blue, it has a built in webcam called Acer Crystal Eye.
As I get older the paranoia gets worse, and lately I've been wondering who is watching me! I have been using Skype, Msn, Yahoo messenger and Facebook to stay in contact with family back home. I am not at all convinced about the secuity of these programs and wonder if I have been hijacked.
How can I check to see if my webcam has been hijacked?
Is there some where that I can look to see if it is in use?
My Acer 1810T has Windows 7 Home Premium x64 installed and it is using a Microsoft Webcam driver version 6.1.7600.16385 dated 6/21/2006.
On Acer's site, they list 3 Camera drivers for Windows 7 Home Premium x64:
Chicony - 1.1.95.71
liteon - 0.905
Suyin - 5.2.7.1

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a new OTB acer aspire 5520, and on initial booting everything worked sweetly but when i am trying to access my crystal eye cam on YM or any IM programs it says the webcam is not connected, Now I checked device manager and there is no webcam, so i installed the driver from the erecovery management tool I tried first the BISON driver and utility without success upon installation the program says the computer should display a "found new hardware" message, but nothing showed up. then when it restarted my machine and when i checked on device manager still no cam... next i uninstalled the BISON driver and installed the 2nd one (SUYIN) with the same results. I searched the support and download section of ACER online and tried a third driver the CHICONY and still the same results.. Finally i re installed my system to full factory default and re tried everything still the same problems...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using an Acer Aspire E1-531 with Windows 7 64 bit on it. So whenever i want to use my webcam it is not found by my laptop. I tried downloading multiple drivers but none of them work (no webcam detected). Another thing is that i dont have an "Imaging Devices" section in my device manager. I've recently formatted my laptop so maybe the driver was deleted or something... I hadn't used my webcam before so i don't know if it had worked back then.

I have been playing about with it, which ended up meaning I unstall everything (I think). I have installed loads of drivers and software for the webcam but all failed, the camera just doesnt seem to turn on...
I have taken my screen apart unplugged it, uninstalled software, plugged in and reinstall but nothing..Plus once I have installed the driver, I look in device manager and see nothing relating to my webcam.

I have an Aser Aspire 5610 - 2328. The model is 5610z. I have the same issue with my webcam and it is orbicam with logitech software. I also here the unplugging sound and also get BSOD's. My laptop is under warranty and it has been sent in to be checked. They could not find any issues also when I click the orbicam icon first try it shows it disconnected. I try again it works. They still claim its working and nothing they can do they have also seen what it doese when clicking on the icon and still claim its working.
Not sure if they really checked the connections I will look into it. It is under warranty thru Wal-Mart and was sent to a place called Cyber Test in Longwood Florida.
I bought an Acer Aspire 4720, installed Windows XP and Linux Ubuntu. On XP, I can see the webcam working as a USB device, but I don't have any software to make it "do" something other than showing my ugly face.
I need to record, shoot some still images, and being able to video chatting (i.e. msn messenger).
What software can I use? Do I need something else (driver)?
The webcam is working, but has no software to handle it.
my notebook will not off after restarting. it stays at "WINDOWS IS SHUTTING DOWN" and God knows how long it will be like that if i dun press the off button. i found out that either the BISON or SUYIN webcam software is causing the problem....
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got problem with my webcam. She worked well when I had got linux Fedora 9 and preinstalled MS Windows Vista. Later I changed Vista 32 bit on Vista 64 bit and I long didn't used the webcam. Later I updated my bios under MS Windows Vista x64 (to v1.19 earlier I had got v1.15). One day I wanted to make a foto with webcam but with no success because Suyin application say Camera not found. Webcam "Vendor ID" is 0c45 and "Product ID" is 63e0. These values indicate on Sonix Webcam but I'am sure that I've got Suyin Webcam and that before I had corect Vendor ID and Product ID for Suyin Webcam. I want to add that i have tried to downgrade to older bios but it makes no difference. I want my Webcam back.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using Acer Aspire E1-522 with Built-in webcam. My OS is Windows 8.1 - 64bit, the webcam not detected.I try restoring the system, but not working. I not found the driver.
In 'Managing Devices' window I show this:
I basically used my webcam every night with Skype to talk to my friends. The very next day, it stops working. Ive literally tried everything. In the device manager, I have an "Unknown Device" listed as a USB. Im 100% sure this use to be my Camera.
I just used the Acer factory CDs to reinstall my OS + Drivers. All the drivers were successfully installed with the exception of the Camera Drivers (because the computer doesnt see a camera)
I tried to download the drivers from the Acer website but (both Chicony and Suyin) and everytime I try to install them a error comes up that says "Camera not found!" I have a laptop so I have no clue how its not finding it.
ive been working on this for hours now and its really getting frustrating. Here are the things ive tried, and if someone knows a solution or a different method I havent tried to fix it, PLEASE let me know
My methods:
1. Reformatted computer using Acer recovery discs
2. Downloaded and tried to install drivers from acer website (camera not found problem)
3. Put windows in Safe mode, uninstalled unknown device, restarted computer to let it automatically scan/update (still failed)
4. Deleted all pictures from My Pictures
5. Tried using Windows Vista drivers and setting to Vista Compatibility mode (I have windows 7), no avail
6. Uninstalled and reinstalled Unknown Device (aka camera) driver, didnt work
7. Tried the windows update software option, windows said everything was fine (pshhh).
8. Uninstalled unknown device, used the option "scan for hardware changes" still didnt work
9. Installed skype to see if the webcam would be recognized, which it wasnt.
I've had this laptop for a day now and am having some issues which I wonder if anyone could help me with.
1. Integrated 'Crystal Eye' webcam
I can't get it to work with Live Messenger. I can only hear the audio from the other person (no video). They also can only hear me and not see me. When I try the Audio/Video tuning wizard my webcam shows fine?
2.Acer Arcade Deluxe
I tried out the Blu-ray drive when I first tried out the laptop and it worked fine. There was a prompt when the Arcade software was first started to inform me that there was a software update available and that if I didn't update then some Blu-ray discs may not play. I ignored the prompt originaly and as I said Blu-ray dics played fine.
I decided to update the software as was recommended but as soon as it was updated, Blu-rays no longer played, nor did normal DVD's. All I got was a multi-coloured blank screen in Arcade and that was it. The disc didn't even spin up.
I uninstalled Arcade and re-installed the original version and it works again. Anyone else had this problem? Any work around?
3. Built-in speakers
The speakers on this laptop sound amazing especially compared to my old Aspire. However, when watching say, a DVD, then whilst the sound is impressive for laptop speakers, speech sounds very off centre (weighted to the right channel). However, all other background sound etc. is separated normally. I notice that the speakers are set a little to the right - could this be the reason?
4. CineDash Media Console
I'm finding the responsiveness of the touch panel hit and miss. Is this the same for everyone else? EG. adjusting the volume - I slide my finger up the curve to turn up the volume and sometimes it works fine and others I have to do it a few times before it responds. Some for the other buttons, like 'ENTER' - sometimes a light touch is all that's needed, other times I have to press it hard.....................
