Mar 30, 2009I just installed Windows 7 x64 from scratch. Thing is, it shows 4GB of installed memory, but only 3GB is accessible.
Resource Monitor shows 1026MB of memory being "hardware reserved".
I've had this problem ever since adding the 4GBx2 sticks (DDR2-667) in my machine. I've tried 3.50 and 3.60 bios on Acer's site, but it doesn't make a difference.
Processor is a T5500, but the chipset is i945PM, so it supports 4GB of ram. Is there a way to remap the ram so that the whole 4GB can be used?
HP Compaq 6730b Display :: Webcam Drivers Installed - Access Violation
Aug 17, 2014I've a HP Compaq 6730b with build in webcam. According hardware info, webcam should work and drivers are installed.
When I start up HP_Webcam.exe or Youcam the blue led is not turning on and I receive the following error:
access violation 00529e53 in module HP_Webcam.exe. Read of address 00000000.
What can be the cause of this access violation?

Feb 23, 2008I Formatted my laptop and installed windows XP (was a successful install) But my problem is....none of my hardware is installed. The WNet doesn't work, Vid Card isn't installed, nor is the Sound Card, and any other hardware that I'm forgetting that also needs to be installed (nothing is installed). I don't have the discs to install them. Can I get the installs for all these online somewhere and burn them to a disc and install on laptop?

Apr 26, 2010I have upgraded to Windows 7 x64 (a fair while ago) and rencently it has started to come up with "No sound device installed" over the speaker icon in the sys tray.
This happens about 50% of the time when the computer has started up.
It never has any issues once the sound is working.
When the sound is not working "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" in Device manager is missing and i cant find the "Reltek HD Audio" device any where else in device manager.
It's just had a freash install of the OS and is still not working reliably.
It's got the latest Win 7 x64 drivers from RelTek
Acer Aspire V3-571 :: Won't Boot Past POST With HDD Installed
Sep 18, 2014I have been working on computers for almost 20 years and this has me completely confused. My Aspire V3-571-6643 laptop was working fine until just recently. The system will power on and show the Acer screen and then immediately reboots. It will stay in this reboot loop until manually stopped.
I cleaned and reseated the RAM module and also tried it in both slots with no change. I was able to access BIOS and determined the drives and all settings are correct and even reset to factory defaults with no change. I then pulled the HDD to use in a docking station to determine if the drive was salvagable. Everything reads fine and passed both short and long tests via SeaTools. With the HDD installed the system won't try to boot to CD/USB but after removing it the system will boot to CD just fine. I then ran a full scan using Eurosoft Pc-Check and everything is fine. I reinstalled the HDD and immediately get the reboot loop again.
At this point the mainboard and HDD both test fine independently but will not work together. My only guess is that the mainboard is no longer supplying enough power for all of the components and crashing when the HDD tries to spin up on boot. That, or the SATA controller is malfunctioning and only working for the ODD.

Feb 23, 2009This ones just a small problem. My webcam works fine, but it's missing on the menu and i can't locate it anywhere in my files so it's just a bit annoying if i want to make a video. It's not even in the manual (printed or computer version). It took three weeks before it appeared in the menu after I bought the laptop, but since I had to restore to factory default and god knows where it is, as i say it's only a minor problem, no location in services. and when i expand my Acer menus theres nothing there either.

Jan 20, 2008I have a new OTB acer aspire 5520, and on initial booting everything worked sweetly but when i am trying to access my crystal eye cam on YM or any IM programs it says the webcam is not connected, Now I checked device manager and there is no webcam, so i installed the driver from the erecovery management tool I tried first the BISON driver and utility without success upon installation the program says the computer should display a "found new hardware" message, but nothing showed up. then when it restarted my machine and when i checked on device manager still no cam... next i uninstalled the BISON driver and installed the 2nd one (SUYIN) with the same results. I searched the support and download section of ACER online and tried a third driver the CHICONY and still the same results.. Finally i re installed my system to full factory default and re tried everything still the same problems...

I tried downloading multiple drivers but none of them work (no webcam detected). Another thing is that i dont have an "Imaging Devices" section in my device manager. I've recently formatted my laptop so maybe the driver was deleted or something... I hadn't used my webcam before so i don't know if it had worked back then.

Am I out of luck with this card or is there a way to force install a driver...or is there a better driver to install?
I've tried the latest 197.16, 186.03 drivers from nvidia. Even from laptopvideo2go...no dice.

Apr 20, 2009I have an Aser Aspire 5610 - 2328. The model is 5610z. I have the same issue with my webcam and it is orbicam with logitech software. I also here the unplugging sound and also get BSOD's. My laptop is under warranty and it has been sent in to be checked. They could not find any issues also when I click the orbicam icon first try it shows it disconnected. I try again it works. They still claim its working and nothing they can do they have also seen what it doese when clicking on the icon and still claim its working.
Not sure if they really checked the connections I will look into it. It is under warranty thru Wal-Mart and was sent to a place called Cyber Test in Longwood Florida.

Feb 13, 2008I bought an Acer Aspire 4720, installed Windows XP and Linux Ubuntu. On XP, I can see the webcam working as a USB device, but I don't have any software to make it "do" something other than showing my ugly face.
I need to record, shoot some still images, and being able to video chatting (i.e. msn messenger).
What software can I use? Do I need something else (driver)?
The webcam is working, but has no software to handle it.

Oct 5, 2008I've got problem with my webcam. She worked well when I had got linux Fedora 9 and preinstalled MS Windows Vista. Later I changed Vista 32 bit on Vista 64 bit and I long didn't used the webcam. Later I updated my bios under MS Windows Vista x64 (to v1.19 earlier I had got v1.15). One day I wanted to make a foto with webcam but with no success because Suyin application say Camera not found. Webcam "Vendor ID" is 0c45 and "Product ID" is 63e0. These values indicate on Sonix Webcam but I'am sure that I've got Suyin Webcam and that before I had corect Vendor ID and Product ID for Suyin Webcam. I want to add that i have tried to downgrade to older bios but it makes no difference. I want my Webcam back.

Jan 13, 2015I was replacing y HDD in the laptop with SDD. The laptop is acer 4830TG, it had 512GB HDD WD. Replacing it with Kingston SSD 480GB.
The SSD is not detected at startup of the laptop, while it is detected on another machine, I also tried another SSD on the acer and it was detected (the other SSD is 120GB). Is this a sort of compatibility issue ?
Acer Aspire V3 371 :: Webcam Suddenly Dropped In Quality
Feb 27, 2015I recently bought an acer v3 371 and was looking forward to using the webcam. For the first few days it was fine quality but then suddenly, possibly after an update of some sort, the quality went down and now it looks really terrible. I tried many things such as refreshing the computer back to default settings, installing various camera programs (I was using the standard camera that came with windows 8.1) such as Acer Crystal Eye but changing the resolution in these makes no difference at all to the terrible quality.
I look in device manager and it just seems to be a generic device 'HD Webcam' and the driver is from 2006, this seems to be the default one that windows selects but there must be a better one, I can't find it anywhere though. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device several times but again no effect. I don't know exactly what the webcam is, because if you go to Acer's actual website to look for driver updates they list all of them EXCEPT the webcam drivers.
