i found my notebook-ACER is attacked by the virus. and i killed these virus by 360 anti-virus software, but there is in vain. my computer works so slow, i'm worry about it.
these anti-virus softwares are inavailable to my computer. what should i do?
I am using HP G6 2225TU, Win 7, 64x. When ever I plays 3D videos in full screen mode. It plays well but cant return in small screen. Even using keys. "esc" Alt+Ctrl+Del or "start" from key board. Some times it works too slow with 3D movies, just some times.

Whenever there's a lot of flash going on, be it a flash game or a full screen youtube,hulu video etc, the computer skips frames and gets real choppy. I know these are all flash based, and wondered if the computer is just a POS cuz the amd processor cant handle flash well. It's a Turion x2 2.1 ghz with 4gb RAM, and the radeon hd3200 graphics, so i dunno what the heck is wrong with it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've installed ubuntu netbook remix, and it really works great out of the box. Didn't try 720P youtube streaming yet.
Pros I found out so far (which are relevant):
- Great battery life, I had 35% left, and I still managed to get 3.5 hours out of it, including one hour streaming (reasonable quality), and half an hour playing Diablo II (game). I'm gonna give an update tomorrow!
- looks are quite nice
- very responsive
- plays 720P and 1080P fluently
- camera works
- wifi works good
- volume of speakers is good
- can be installed from within the windows OS
- pinguin
Cons
- two finger scrolling doesn't work yet, only one finger (using the edge) scrolling.
- keyboard layout had to be set to US
- unfamiliar applications, for some windows applications you might not have a substitute, but that's a con of Linux in general...

I haven't been able to locate a Windows 7 x64 version of Acer eRecovery.
I can get to the basic operating system required for restoring user backup files by inserting the Restore CD in the CDROM. But if I select Restore from the eRecovery menu, after selecting the desired restore file the PC reboots into normal startup mode instead of rebooting into basic operating system for the Restore function.
I have an Acer Aspire V3-772g, a relatively new laptop (8 months old), which randomly decided to stop booting.

Was playing a game just fine. Shut down as normal, went to work, came home 8 hours later, attempted to boot - nothing.
Exact problem: Hit power button, power button comes on. Light next to the lightbulb (power light?) Comes on, stays solid. Charging stays solid orange/blue.
HDD light? Flickers. Screen flickers a dark grey color that may be the very initial part of a startup. No acer logo.The screen and HDD light flicker in synchronisation, at the same exact time. You can hear the fans fire up, and the HDD spin up. Screen just flickers about once per second (it's very faint.)
--Heres what I've tried---
-Removing power cord/battery, holding button for 60 seconds 3 times, plugging back in and powering up.
- Almost every varation of that, I have attempted.
-Inserting a new harddrive. Same result.
-Plugging in an external monitor. (Tried VGA and HDMI)
- Power does not transfer to external monitors. Screen still flickers on laptop, no change in behavior.
-Removed 1 stick of RAM - No **BUT** behavior changes slightly. Flickering of screen and HD light reduced to about once every 45 seconds rather than once every second.
-Removed both sticks of RAM - no flickering, no HDD light flickering. Pure black screen.
-Rotated the sticks of RAM - No change.
Also interestingly, with everything normal, if I hold Fn+Esc, the computer will do a new startup process (Screen still black), then after about 20 seconds goes into the normal screen flickering/HDD indicator flickering. Different behavior, slightly.
I have an Aspire E1-572 that is five months old, running Win 8.1. Â I've loved the notebook to this point, but now the speakers have quit working completely (the headphone jack still works). Â I called tech support and they had me delete and reinstall the driver (Realtech high definition audio), which made no difference. Â

She then told me the next step is to refresh my Windows installation, which will apparently blow away everything I've installed since it was new. Â I declined to do that because I really don't want to spend an entire day reinstalling all the programs, even though I have the data backed up. Â Is this truly the only way to make a final determination if it's a hardware or software problem?
I manage to pair my 2-in-1 pc Acer Switch 10 with an externat Bluetooth (bt) device only when the tablet is connected to my home wifi network. As soon as I disconnect from the wifi network, the pairing with the bt device is disabled. If I try to pair the bt device when wifi connection is off, the pairing succeeds just for a few seconds (1 or 2) and then it disconnects.
The support assistance of the bt device, since it actually manages to pair with the pc in such wifi wird conditions, suggested that it probably can be a problem due to the chip of the pc that probably manages both the wifi and the bt connections and is not able to manage them separately.

Symptom:
A few days ago the computer started acting very slow; it is very slow in pulling up a window, starting new programs, and the clock is also slowed way down. The time in BIOS is also slow. No virus/malwares/ad wares detected. Interestingly, when I "pinch" the lower case at around the ATI/WinXP stickers area, the computer functions fine. But as soon as I stop pinching and flexing the lower casing, the computer slows again, sometimes to the point of becoming completely non-responsive. However, if I were to pinch the same corner again, the computer responds and acts normal.
Last week I bought a small Aspire One 1.6 Ghtz Wind. XP with 1 gig ram and it is the slowest laptop I have ever owned.
I boot up and get on line, and then I have a 30 - 40 sec wait every single time I try to change screens.
The problem is not booting up, or even getting on line, but it takes too long to get from screen to screen once I am on line.
Before I throw this away, as I can not return it, please, what do I do with this $300 doorstop?
i did a test in HDtune and i found something strange :
ide mode : burst speed - 120mb/s
cpu usage : 6,7 %
AHCI mode : burst speed - 68mb/s
cpu usage : 21% ( no mistake )
is this normal ? Hard disk is WD scorpio black 320gb
in HDtune i see that my hdd is set to ide - 100mb/s instead of sata
also when i connect a usb device ( after 3 connects especially) i get a BSOD and the error 0x0000008E .
I never got this error before and it all started 1 month ago, out of the blue.

The problem is that, my computer gets spikes of choppiness, it happens very infrequently when im simply IMing or browsing the web, it happens occasionally when playing low end games like MapleStory or Starcraft or Diablo2, it happens very often when playing TeamFortress2, and it makes Unreal Tournament 3 unplayable it happens so often.
I have two Acer netbooks and they both run much slower when running on battery, particularly when browsing the internet. I've changed the power settings to "Always On" and "Home/Office" and it helps, but it's still not as good as when plugged in. Does anyone have any suggestions on anything else I can do? Also, does "Always On" or "Home/Office" provide faster performance when on battery power?

I've tried every power option and while "Home/Office" seems to work the best (even better than "Always On"), it still runs slower than when plugged in. I'd like to get the same performance on battery that I get when plugged in, even though I understand I may have to sacrifice battery life. Its currently running extremely slow and struggles to perform basic tasks my older lower spec xp laptop had no problems with, such as playing music from my external hdd. My mom has an Acer 532h 450N netbook and she complains that its slow. I go and take a look at it, disabled most of the junk that came pre-loaded with window 7 starter and installed the latest bios. CPU at 100% for youtube 360p, can't even smoothly scroll through PDFs. I restart it in safe mode which runs at 20 processes and cpu usage is constanly at 35-40% during idle state. I myself never owned an atom based netbook, are they this slow?

Preface:
I am stuck being tech support for my brother who is living in Torres Vedras, Portugal right now. He is having some problems with a pretty new Acer Aspire 5810TZ that was given to him around Christmas time. The computer had been used for about a month before he received it and had a few programs installed on it along with the usual bloatware. I cleaned up what I could before he left for Portugal again and installed AVG anti-virus, MS Office '07, and Windows 7.
Now that he is back in Portugal he is having problems with the things he uses most on the computer (Built in microphone not working, built in webcam only working randomly for a short amount of time, and DivX failing any time he tries to watch tv or movies online) I've walked him through updating all the drivers and reinstalling DivX, but nothing seems to fix these problems and Windows 7 is starting to look like more trouble than it is worth to him.
Main Question: Is there any way to restore the computer back to the way it was when first purchased (with Vista or 7, whichever will work) without the use of recovery discs (He does not have any with him over seas) in a way that is simple enough for me to relay to him?
I'm using an Acer TravelMate 7520. I had it with me at university, and had no problems (other than it being a little slow sometimes...). When I came home for the summer it started freezing up, and then emitting a loud, constant beep. it will work fine for a few minutes upon start, but then the programs start to freeze, then the mouse, then the beep comes. I did a virus scan and came up with 2 viruses, which i removed, but it is still doing it!! I can't figure out what is wrong with it, or a solution.
The other day it got very hot, because me (like an idiot) left it sitting on my bed with the fan covered. It cooled off and everything, and the fan works fine.

A friend of mine gave me a Acer TravelMate 2310 with Win XP Home to fix.
The laptop doesn't have any malware, has almost no software installed apart from Windows, Office, but is totally unusable when it reaches the Welcome Screen, I sometimes manage to login with any of the accounts but can't do anything else (it's too slow; can't even open Task Manager).
If I go to Safe Mode it works normal.
I used System Restore to go back in time a couple of months (she assures me she had no problems then), that failed. So I restored the PC by bootin from DVD and went back 2 years ago...same result. I also restored to the Factory Default using the partition...again I have an unusalbe laptop...unless in Safe Mode, this is a clean install I have now.
I checked the disk using SpinRite (no errors), if I go to Safe Mode I can see a couple services (System Event Notification, DCOM) fail to start when doing the normal boot to Windows.
Since everything works fine in Safe Mode I assume it's not the hardware, but I can't understand why it's unusable using even with the Factory Defaults.
I have an Acer 8930 with the Intel WiFi Link 5100. I updated the driver to version 12.4.3.9. When I transfer a file to my moviebox (connected to a Netgear Rangemax Router via cable) I only get up to 1.2 MB/s as speed. When I transfer via my IMac I can get up to 4.5MB/s.
Looking into the advanced properties settings of the Intel WiFi Link I noticed under Wireless mode the following options:
1. 802.11a
2. 802.11b
3. 802.11g
4. 802.11b/g
5. 802.11a/g
6. 802.11a/b/g
Option 6 is selected, but should there not be an N option?
Even as I am typing this it takes like 4 seconds for the words to appear on the screen!
I have an acer 8930g which is one of the better models (904g50bwn) it has a quad core q9000 proecessor 2ghz 6mb l2 cache and 4gb ram, i installed a 2nd 500gb hd and have 1000gb in total.
I have installed windows 7 ultimate 64 bit (original copy) and it came with vista hp 32 bit
I am at the moment only running firefox with only about 18 tabs (Normally have around 50) memory usage is about 65% but cpu is 100% most of the time when using firefox.
Normal use cpu usage is 20-30%!
I spent £1200 on this laptop having never spent more than £650, the attraction was the blu ray player and big screen along with good spec. It is performing worse than my old toshiba p300!
I expected a big difference in performance but I am just having these issues.
Is the issue that I am using windows 7 or do you think my machine could be faulty? It does NOT get hot when using it like my toshiba did but it just gets sluggish very often. Also when using task manager it says firefox using 30% cpu usage and no other processes using anything yet it says 100% - doesnt add up?! Does anyone know what that means?
