Aug 26, 2009I'm doing some light video editing for school and I'm going to need slow-motion effects but I'm pretty sure iMovie 08 (which I have) doesn't have that feature.
I read somewhere that iMovie 06 had it though, and Apple made it free to download for the people that were dissatisfied with imovie 08.
I can't find it anywhere on apple's site though. Is there another place I could download it from because I can't find anywhere? Or is there another free video editor for Mac OS I could download?

Jan 3, 2009When I got my new MBP with Leopard last May I was initially disappointed with iMovie 08, so I replaced it with the free download of iMovie HD from the apple website (more info here).
However, now I changed my mind and I want to put iMovie 08 back. Would I need to do a complete Leopard re-install or can I just use my discs to selectively install iMovie 08?it was easy to do just using the install discs.

Jan 17, 2009I tried to go to iMovie tonight to edit some videos, but when I went to import the video, it wouldn't import them. All it did was say "importing video," then it would say "processing video," and then just quit. It only attempts to import a video for about 15 seconds, then stops.
This is iMovie 08 from the iLife 08 suite.

Apple :: Macbook Pro Screen Frame Crack
Jul 2, 2009I currently have a Macbook Pro, from the mid 2007 batch. The frame around the screen started with a hairline crack at the base of the screen on both sides about a year ago and since has developed into full blown crack on both sides. It seems that the rest of the screen is fine, so I don't want to buy a new one. Does anyone have any knowledge about replacing the bezel (not sure what to call it?) around the screen?

May 2, 2009I had a little mishap, my MB (1.83GHz) fell down and it got a hit on the upper left corner of the LCD. Immediately it got purple stripes showing in the browser window's gray fields, and when I tried looking at some pictures, they had lots of bright green fields.
In the time since then, I have not got to doing anything about it, but a few days ago, it changed, the display suddenly looked perfect. This prompted me to think that the LCD is not shot anyway, that most likely some connection in there has got loose. Seconds ago I again had a few purple stripes showing, but then I grabbed the LCD, with my thumbs on the inside frame and fingers on the outside, carefully pressing a little, which caused it to become perfect again.
Somehow I wonder if the problem is that the "frame" around the display isn't properly set in place. Just after it happened, it did look as if it had come loose, but I pressed it slightly and it looked as if it had popped back in place. When I now had to press a little, it did make a little noise... Could the problem be this simple, or...

Whenever I take a still photo or video, the captured image or video that is saved becomes mirrored (the left and right are reversed). Even the mirror box in the camera setup is unchecked. Currently, I am running version 2.7.01.08030 of VAIO camera capture utility and the driver for the webcam is version 6.1005.209.0.

Jan 8, 2013I'm trying to capture screen images in Windows 8 (Metro) and I've read several things saying that you can do it with (Windows Key + Print Screen) but it doesn't seem to work. I've noticed that Print Screen is on the same key as a button called Insert, so I'm wondering if that's why it doesn't work. I've tried holding shift and control to see if it makes a difference, but still can't do it.
I wish I could use the snipping tool in Metro, but it only seems to work in desktop mode. Is there a way to use the snipping tool in Metro?
HP Pavilion Dv6-6130tx :: Extremely Dark Capture From Webcam
Aug 7, 2011I just purchased a brand new HP Pavilion dv6-6130tx from Hong Kong four days ago and I was very content with it. The webcam quality was decent until yesterday when I wanted to use the webcam with pre-installed 'cyberlink youcam'. The capture was dark, even when I checked the 'auto lighting' feature. I have been searching this forum and the driver and support HP website for a fix, but there is no webcam driver I can use to re-install. I have tried updating the webcam driver through 'Device manager'. I even uninstalled 'Cyberlink Youcam' and installed 'HP Mediasmart webcam'.
Everything is dark and not even my face is recognizable, it only shows intense light. I am not sure whether it is a software failure or a hardware failure, but I can't seem to find the root of the problem.

May 27, 2010My warranty has no run out so dell can't actually support me. Whenever I try to use the camera the blue light comes on as if to say that it is working but the picture is just black. When I click to take a picture regardless a box pops up that says "Unable to capture a photo. Please reconnect your camera and try again". But if the camera is integrated how can disconnect it? Have tried reinstalling drivers and even the webcam manager itself but it has not worked.

May 10, 2014I had sent in a ticket to blizz with DxDiog and the MsInfo and they cound out there was some errors in some applications and is now fixed c: I simply just did a facotry recovery since honestly i just have steam, wow and a drawing program installed so it was nothing huge lose whne i did it. So everything is working just fine right now ! I did try the one with truing off anti aliasing and it did work as well even if my frame rate is back to it's 90+ it jumped up to 100+
So it started last saturday that my frame rate dropped drastically from 90+ to 15- on World Of Warcraft. I followed the steps that i got told with updating drivers and such, but still low and un-playable.
It's really strange and all, i bought this laptop for like 1 month ago and had no problems until now. There was a windows update (i use win 8.1) last week that first messed with my latency at first, but then my FPS.
When i play on steam per say Assasians creed and Portal i have no problem but it seems to only be on WoW.

Yes it was about downloading the latest IE..
The long story in sort , the IE8 caused extreme boot delay on desktop system (well made P4 single at 3400 ) .
And I did, uninstall it in minutes .
Going back to IE7 , and having back my system, as it was (speedy).
I did both , desktop and ACER laptop installations at the same time.
And by looking my desktop to not like the new software, I removed it from the laptop too .
Did you noticed any symptoms with the IE8 , or its just me?
HP Envy M6 Display :: Frame Update Rate Slow When Playing Videos
Jan 31, 2015I've noticed when playing vidoes, the video frames update at a slower pace to the point where it feels that movie is being played in slow motion. Sometimes this conditions stays longer other for few minutes. It does not make any differene if I am streaming or playing a movie stored on the HD (machine doesn't have CD drive).
I've ensure there are no other apps running that might seep power away from main processor/RAM or video processor. All the drivers are latest & greatest and I don't see any warnings anywhere in the system manager.
It has Win 8 and Intel HD Graphics 4000 with 1.6G of video RAM which seems decent enough to play a video file smoothly.

FYI - Did the sfc /scannow .... When finished it did say "resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them"
I then went and did the local disc C - check the drive for errors. It came back with NO ISSUES? I then did a defrag just for fun, and it said no fragmented files or issues?

However my speakers have only connector that I plug into either one of these. This works but I am am wondering if there would be any loss of audio quality when used this way (maybe surrond sound or something)? OR is the second audio-out an extra connection to say headphones?

Aug 9, 2009I was wondering if the new Neo X2 chips in the dv2z are a big improvement over the original Athlon Neo MV-40 single core. IIRC All three are clocked at 1.6 ghz and the single core and dual core Athlon Neo have the same amount of cache (512k) but the Turion has 1mb. I'm up in canada and am considering getting a dv2 to play some older games on, and the dual cores are not yet availible up here, so I am wondering if its going to be worth waiting for the dual cores to become availible up here or should I just go ahead and get one with an MV-40. I already know I am going to be getting one with the HD3410 graphics (not even going to try to game on the X1250, although its probably better than just about everything Intels got out there...).
