HP G6 2225TU :: Single Finger Scroll Not Working?
Jun 13, 2014m using HP G6, 2225TU, Win7 64x. Its singal finger scroll not working after system restore, any how two finger scroll is fine. I changed touch pad settings many time.

Dell XPS 15 L521x :: Multi-finger Scroll Jumps?
Feb 9, 2013I love the hardware design of the XPS 15, except that the touchpad is unusable for scrolling. My old Latitude 6520 at least could use the scroll zones well, but with the buttons on the L521x being part of the touchpad, the horizontal scroll zone impacts button usage and isn't worth it.The big issue is the multi-finger scrolling jumps significantly when lifting fingers. I've tried every version of the driver I could find, and they all have this issue. If you make sure you completely stop scrolling before lifting fingers, then lift one at a time, I can usually avoid the jump, but that take more time than just using the keys to scroll.
Is there a way to either disable horizontal scrolling using scroll zones or fix the 2 finger scrolling to not jump? Except for that issue (and some sporadic wifi issues that my be fixed with newest driver), this laptop would be perfect for me.

Oct 29, 2014On my computer (an hp laptop 2000, no touch screen or anything) the two finger scroll is already enabled. I have checked the driver and it says I have the most recent one. I even found out a way to get my two finger right click back (which works fine now), but still no luck with the two finger scrolling which I had really come to love on my hp.

I tried the newer Win7 Cypress Touchpad Drivers... the same laggy problem.

Jan 4, 2015My new inspiron 15 has an issue with the touchpad - the two finger scroll functionality breaks at irregular but very frequent intervals.
I'd spend 15 minutes on the computer and I'd suddenly not be able to use any multi-finger gestures on the touchpad, specifically the two-finger scroll. I've noticed that at that point, pinch zoom doesn't work either which leads me to believe it's a general issue with multi-finger gestures.
Restarting the computer always fixes it.
I can't tell if this is a hardware defect or a software issue.I've reinstalled the latest touchpad drivers from dell but it has made no difference.

Nov 17, 2014I bought a dell xps 13 a few months ago. I was pretty happy with its performance untill a few days ago, when its touchpad refuses to scroll periodically. While it is refusing to scroll, other multi-finger gestures like zoom, pinch etc work. Also, touchscreen scroll and mouse scroll also work. Problem doesn't go away even if I disable and re enable the driver. It sometimes goes away on its own, or on restarting the computer.
I use windows 8.1

Jun 9, 2014I have followed advice on changing settings on the mousepad in the control panel, in my settings it shows I have enabled (ticked) all of 2 finger scrolling vertical and horizontal and one finger scrolling vertical and horizontal, and have clicked apply, however the touchpad still won't let me scroll on pages. All i can use the touchpad for is to click and moe the pointer around the page. It used to work until recently and I only bought the laptop in January. This is very frustrating as i bought the laptop for study use as an open uni student I have to read a lot of journals so thesudden lack of non scrolling is extremely awkward.
I have tried the changing of settings (once I found the control panel) already so how to get this to work again.

I had previously attempted to use modded drivers and other apps (none of which worked), but surprisingly, synaptics seems to have enabled it all by themselves in the latest driver, which is part of scrybe.

2. Install the software (Make sure it installs both scrybe and the new driver)
2.1 Restart
3. Go to Control Panel>Mouse>Device Settings (Tab)>Highlight Synaptics Touchpad Vx.x> then click settings
4. Once you have the Touchpad settings windows open, you can change all kinds of settings:
Multifinger Gestures>Two Finger Scrolling (Click the gears next to the name)

Jan 21, 2012Yoga 11s a great computer but why should the two-finger tap to right click be unavailable? It's a commonly found gesture on Windows and Macs these days and that it's missing be default on my machine drives me crazy. Having to press down firmly to click in the bottom corner or having to click while pressing down two fingers is annoying. I've read some solutions involving drivers and registry edits but not sure what I want to undertake.

Apr 21, 2013I bought my Y500 a few days ago and happy with it in general. However, one day the two-finger-tap (for right click) on the touchpad stopped working. Below is a description.
Everything else as far as I can tell, including two-finger scroll and one-finger tap and so forth, are working fine, but the two-finger tap stopped working even though it worked fine for a few days. I have a suspicious as to what caused it but I'm not entirely sure. In any case I think it's most likely a bug, and probably software.
One day I went into "control panel" -> "mouse" -> "device settings" -> "settings..." -> "Scrolling" -> "two-finger scrolling" -> "enable coasting". I played with coasting for a while, and soon disabled it again because I didn't really like it. However, it was then that I noticed that my two-finger tap stopped working. I have doubled-checked that "control panel" -> "mouse" -> "device settings" -> "settings..." -> "clicking" -> "two-finger click" is set to "secondary click (context menu, special drag)", but the two-finger click still doesn't work, even after a restarted. I downloaded the latest driver (version 16.2.18.0) and it still didn't work. I uninstalled the driver and installed it again and it still doesn't work. Now I like using the touchpad, but really hate living without two-finger tap for right-clicking.

I reinstalled the touchpad drivers, and it worked for a few days, then it stopped again. Two-finger click still works fine. So does one-finger tap to left click.

Feb 21, 2014The Biometric Fingerprint device on my HP Pavilion dv6 laptop is not working. I get the message:
1. The Fingerprint reader is not detected (during start up prior to logging in).
2. Windows did not find any biometric devices on this computer ( when I checked via Control Panel).
I went into this challenge when I reinstalled my windows 7 o/s after I realised I had some corrupted files and so could not install an HP printer on my computer. Unfortunately I did not have the original restoration file so I had to do reformating and reinstallation of the o/s.
My O/S is Windows 7 ultimate.

Jan 24, 2013I bought my Y580 about a month ago and it has been great. The only problems I've been having with it is with the touchpad. About a week ago the synaptics software on here started to shutdown at random and things like two finger scrolling and swiping from the sides would all stop working. I searched around and downloaded updated software both from synaptic's website and from lenovo driver support. The newest ones from lenovo are the only ones that don't quit at random but now the only thing that doesn't like to work still is the two finger tap to right click. Sometimes it'll work for the first ten min when I first turn the laptop on but then it'll quit. Two finger click sometimes works for right click but not always and two finger tap for right click never works any more.

I have updated all the software using "Lenovo update and drivers" but it did not work (BIOS image also was updated during this process). I doubt that it is hardware fault because I have Linux OS installed as dual boot among with Windows, and no problems there with logging in using fingerprint reader (fingerprint-gui package)...
