May 17, 2010why can't i hear notification sound from the normal msn for mac not the new beta one? i checked in the settings of msn and notification sounds are enabled?

Apple :: Mac Book - Turn On - Could Hear The Sound But My Display Was Black
May 22, 2010It's a old version MacBook Pro 15.4" 2008 Edition, Core 2 Duo 2.5Ghz (i think) 2GB Ram, 250GB HDD
The problem I encountered was that one day when I was using my laptop I forgot to turn it off and then my laptop went to 'sleep' mode, when I came back and tried to turn on my laptop I could hear the sound but my display was black.
I thought it was just a minor problem so I just restarted my laptop but the problem consisted...
Unfortuately my warranty ran out but still I still put my laptop through the checkup in the official Apple customer center and they said that I needed to purchase a new part PCBA, MLB, 2.5 GHZ, REV2.

Jan 10, 2010I have had my 2008 unibody macbook for sometime now. 3 weeks ago there was a clunking sound in the fan constantly. picture a Ford Model T sound like " dugdugdugdugdug" or something i cant explain the sound. suddenly today it got a ton worse. now sounds like a lawnmower. Apple :: MacBook Makes Crackling Sounds
Feb 8, 2009My MacBook has recently been making crackling sounds (very static-ky), especially when I use YM or play the Funk sound in the Sound Preferences. Generally, the crackling sound occurs when I get an alert or any short bursts of sound that quickly plays. After that, the crackling goes away until the next abrupt alert plays.
Also, when I play the Funk sound in quick succession, the systemwide sound altogether fails. I know it's not a speaker thing since the same scenario occurs even when I use headphones.
Could it be a software or logicboard thing?

Dec 7, 2014I have been using this small utility for caps lock on a 5742 using W7 Pro and it works well. The 5742 doesn't have a caps lock light or indicator built into from Acer, so one have to come up with something.
This program will place a red "x" or green "check" in the taskbar letting you know if you're in caps lock and will also produce a small "beep" after a few letters typed in if in caps lock.

I have my options set for automatic Windows updates. Screen shows default time as 3am (changed to 5am), but I am receiving updates without warning while using computer. Can I receive a notification before the updates begin which gives me the option to delay???
Is this happening because I log off and completely shutdown computer/network at night?

Aug 3, 2014It's about my old notebook, hp pavilion dv7 1130el bought 5 years ago, it always wokerd fine but now its screen goes black without reasons... at first I thought it might be overheating, but that's totally random:
-sometimes works even when is hot
-sometimes goes blackafter I turn it on and then open google
-sometimes works for a while, when its not hot, and then goes black
I don't have a second monitor to connect it, but even if the screen goes black I can still hear the music from youtube, so I guess it's just the screen.

Mar 21, 2013I bought inspiron N5110 laptop from about 8 months from middle east. From 5 months when I came to USA the laptop stop working. I tried to send it to dell as it was still in the warranty but they refused to take it because it had not an international warranty. I sent it to a technician in USA who told me that the motherboard is overheated. I got a motherboard that has the same part number and install it in the laptop.
The problem is that when I power it on some times the screen not display anything although it logs in windows as I hear the sound, and sometimes it log to windows and after about 15 min the screen stop working.
I do not know why it do this is this a problem in the new motherboard? or in the CPU?

Sep 6, 2014I'm working with a HP G72-250US Notebook and using Windows 7 64 bit Intel core(TM). M350@2.27ghz2266 mhz 2 cores
Is it the Mother board or the Harddrive? Replaced screen due to vertical and horizontal lines in color. Computer worked normal at times. I thought it was fixed but then while doing a HP diagnostic program the computer said to shut down because the batttery situation might harm the computer . I tested the AC adapter. I installed a new battery and at first it was working again. I updated and scanned with AVG & Malwarebytes. Did another HP diagnostic and at one point was told to restart. It never lived again to this point.
All it does is light up the power light and W/LAN (F 12). Blue lights are on at times indicating Cap locks and number locks are engaged. I did do a complete factory restore before it came to this point and updated the bios (to F 37) and downloaded updates for chipsets and Graphics also.(after screen installed) The only thing it does now is make noises at startup and power indicator is lit now Light keeps cycling.(light off, light on) in ten second intervals.

Aug 12, 2009i have a Acer 7720G laptop, if those who dont know the laptop, its not exactly that low powered so i dont think it should be suffering because its weak, its a dual core 2 duo cpu, i have 4gb ram in it and a 256mb video card.
when i am playing music generaly i will be browsing websites and as i am browsing, i find a lot when i am scrolling the music really starts stuttering a lot and then eventualy goes ok, am not sure why when i am viewing websites, and it seems like it can be any site.
i am using the newest realtek hd drivers at this time.

Oct 30, 2009Recently I've started to hear some odd sounds coming from my DV2. I've been hearing pops, clicks, clacks, something that sounds something is constantly being turned on and off, and a very faint sound that sounds almost like a fan, but is coming from more near the middle or right side of the laptop than where the fan is.
Just wondering how bad these sounds are, or if they're natural laptop sounds that for some reason I just never heard.

Aug 31, 2009I have an HDX18 with IDT HD Sound (Vista Ultimate 64-bit). I've noticed an annoying popping sound with most applications. For instance, when using Trillian instant messenger, when I receive a message the speakers make a distinct pop at the start of the "ding" and at the end. The sound itself is clear, but always initiates and concludes with some kind of pop or click.
This is the same for all Windows sounds (which I've now disabled because of the audio annoyance). I tried disabling the Dolby effects through the IDT control panel, but that made things worse!
