View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't set my sound default. I recently got my computer updated and a few hours later, my sound stopped working, then my videos, too. I reinstalled my computer, but when it got to the point where you set sound defult, it wouldn't work. The sections "Configure" and "Properties" worked, but "Set Default" wouldn't. I am so frustrated because I need sound and video to do a lot of things on my computer.
My product name is: Windows 8 HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 PC
Product number: C6N92UA#ABA
I have an HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b002ev with Windows 8.1. I experience the following problem. Sometimes I have audio and sometimes I don't, without a particular pattern. I may watch a video with no problem, but on the next video the sound will be off. I have tried everything. Uninstalling the IDT codec and re-installing it and un-checking the exclusive mode. The same thing happens even after installing the latest IDT Codec (6.10.6425.0). When audio is off, I'm trying to test the speakers and the message that this device is being used by another application, is appearing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe sound on my HP Pavilion G6-1a19wm is not working. Sound "does" work when using the audio jack with external speakers. I have tried uninstalling the driver, updating the driver, microsoft fix-it, and troublshooting steps. audio device shows in device manager and is supposedly working properly, mute is "not' enabled. visually all audio related things suggest that the audio is fine and troubleshooting finds no problems..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just brought a Hp Pavillion 15 Notebook (Windows 8.1), and its been working fine. Ive been in a skype call with my friends while playing a game (meaning skype is minimised). But all of a sudden, the sound stops and i can hear my game, but not skype. I maximised skype and then my friends could hear me and i could hear them, but everytime i minimise skype i cant hear them and they can't hear me. I tried this with spotify, and i could hear the music even when spotify was minimised.

When I restart my computer, my sound works for an hour or two and then suddenly shuts off. It does this with or without headphones. It works again as soon as I restart the computer, but I'd really love not to have to restart my computer every hour just to get the sound to work.
Also- downloading Windows 8 isn't an option as a lot of my work is incompatible with windows 8.
I'm not sure if it's caused by the Windows 8 update from a few days back, but the problem started around then.
The audio on my laptop is not working. The mute stays on, even when I press the physcial keyboard button to enable sound, and try to enable sound with my mouse from the volume menu. Nothing has audio.
Laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC running Windows 8 Pro 64-Bit.
I've seen some other people mentioning a problem like this recently...
I have an HP Pavillion zv6000 and my audio isn't working and i enter in the device manager and shows this error: "This device cannot start. Code 10" After this i installed my audio driver from the site and still same problem.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought a new hard drive and replaced my old one and installed windows 7 instead of windows 8 .
All drivers are installed but except this one? IUSB3ROOT_HUB30&VID_8086&PID_1E31&REV_0004&SID_18FD103C ..
I have a HP pavilion touchsmart sleekbook 14-b133tx laptop running windows 8 and is still in warranty because of a faulty touchscreen. A few days ago my touchpad is not working properly. when i tap the touchpad it does a richt click and when i move my finger in resizes my icons. I look at device manager at it says that the device is working properly.
The touchpad works normally after booting but stops after a few minutes along with the keyboard (i am using the touchscreen as i type this). When i go to the mouse settings there is an error "cannot connect to synaptics pointing device driver" it prompted me to uninstall so i did but the driver won't uninstall. I tried to uninstall it on device manager then rebooted my pc then reinstalled it again but the problem is still present.
Now the touchpad is not working at all and the keyboard stops a few minutes to hours after logging into windows ang fixes itself when i reboot my pc but stops working again after some time. In the device manager there is now an error in the touchpad "This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)". I already did a hard reset, the sfc/scannow, a system restore, and I already used system recovery to revert back to its factory settings but the touchpad is still not working (still error code 24) and the keyboard still stops responding after a few minutes.
Okay, well the day before yesterday I was trying to watch Youtube but when I clicked on a video it had no sound. I thought it was Youtube, so I exited the site and thought I'd wait a little bit. So then I went to Spotify to listen to some music. I kept clicking and clicking and nothing was happening. Then I noticed a blue notice at the top that said something about my soundcard not working properly.
I then checked everything on my computer to see if it had sound. Windows Media Player...no, videos on Facebook...nope, nothing was working. At first I thought it was my daughter. I let her watch Youtube when she lays down for a nap. I came in the other day and she was hitting all kinds of buttons on my computer. I stopped her though and everything seemed fine. I also remember my computer updating that day. Could it be that something went wrong with the update? I don't know if that's possible or not.
And also, what is a soundcard. Do I have to buy it or do I download it???
I went to Yahoo answers and someone said to uninstall the drivers. I did that and then reinstalled them and it worked. The rest of that day I had sound on everything except for Facebook. Yesterday night it happened again and the sound has not returned since but my computer sounds are still working. When I logged on the computer made the log in sound it usually makes. I also tried to listen to a video with headphones and it still did not work. Again, I uninstalled the drivers and then re installed them and got nothing.
I am using HP 2000-2313TU Notebook PC laptop with windows 8 64 bit operating system. From the last few days i am facing some problems in audio..when i am opening my laptop the sound system is working well...but when i am not continuing any audio application( busy in some other work..) and after sometime say 20-30minutes when i am opening any audio or video file it is running without any sound..when i am restarting my computer again audio device works...if i am not using the audio files after opening my computer also this problem happens after sometimes when i play some audio files.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavillion g6 and the sound is not working at all. I tried troubleshooting the audio playback and then it started working. Then i realized only the system sounds started working.
When i play a video or any audio on my browser (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer) it does not work, but when i play a video/audio downloaded onto the pc, it works. Why is that?
I checked all my browser settings aswell and nothing is wrong.
I have a HP Pavilion G6-2252sa Notebook running Windows 8 and I have just installed 8.1. All is OK, except the equalizer function in Dolby Advanced Audio V2 is no longer working. You can still move the equalizer sliders but the actual sound quality remains the same. It just sounds flat as if all sliders are permanently set at zero.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Beats Audio keeps crashing when I try to open "Listening Experience". It has worked before, crashed before and began working again after I did some jiggling of things such as uninstall/reinstall driver, update/rollback driver, computer and HP troubleshooting, etc. (but I couldn't tell you what I did when or in what sequence) It has again decided to not work!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've recently noticed a problem with my PC's speakers not working. I'm not entirely sure what causes them to stop working, but if I remember correctly, the first time I remember it happening was after I had my computer plugged into the TV via an HDMI cable. Since then, the speakers seem to come and go. I think restarting my computer usually brings them back, but I was curious if there was another way to fix them other than that and if I could do something to keep this from happening in the future. Also, I'm interested in finding out why this is happening to my PC.
