I'm sure there's an obvious answer to this, but I just did a clean install of my new 1647 and the wireless adapter seems to be misisng
(at least the enable button). I'm on the dell driver site, and I can't for the life of me choose which driver/application will reintegrate it.
I installed a fresh Windows XP on this Vostro, and tried to do the Install Order, with NSS and then Chipset....but once I get to wireless adapter and I go to install the drivers based on the "Service Tag" I get "The Device could not be detected, Installation Aborted".

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using ideapad y510p. My wifi worked perfectly yesterday evening. However today at morning I couldnt find any wifi networks. After some research I have discovered that there is not wifi adapter present in Network Adapters and also that there is no wifi adapter in device manager. However bluetooth works fine. I have tried reinstalling drivers (even clean install of everything that may have something with networking). But I still cant see any wifi adapter. LAN connection works just fine. I dont think this should be hardware related problem because as far as I know bluetooth and wifi adapters are both located on Intel Centrino N2230. So I think that if my wifi adapter would be broken than bluetooth wouldnt be working too. I have also tried using system restore point to last week (when everything was working perfectly) but it didnt work.

I have also downloaded latest drivers from intel website and when I run tests with theirs WiFi Software Utility (or whatever it is called) it says that there is no wifi adapter present so it fails even hardware test.
I have an Acer Aspire 4720Z. Since long I had been using XP. Recently it was formatted and Windows 7 was installed. But after this upgradation, the WLAN is not working. Have banged my head with drivers and all.

Device manager is showing Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi miniport adapter (although with XP it simply showed by the name of WLAN adapter as far as I remember). And checking it's properties it says that the device is working properly. When Intel Wi-Fi Technology is tried to get started, it says that 'A supported intel wireless network adapter not found'.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI can't install my integrated webcam. After downloading the driver and opening the file installation starts and then suddenly it just ends with the message there was an error during installing.
So the thing I've done are: installing the drivers, which failed.
I've also looked in the device managemer app but could find anything of a camera.
i bought a acer laptop @ bestbuy and it came with preinstall vista home. i used the computer fine and all and the internet connects to my router find and was surfing the internet. i then decided to install a fresh copy of my own vista ultimate because i dont like the preinstall stuff that they did because it just clutters up space. after i finish my install of vista ultimate, my laptop doesn't connect to the internet. i know this is simply but i dont see network adapters under the device manager in the computer management screen. i am worried because if i have to install the driver, then i would see some icons with a yellow exclamation mark, but i dont see NETWORK ADAPTERS AT ALL. i dont know how to solve this? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks all. i've tried to press scan for new hardware changes but still i dont see the network adpaters. i thought if you install vista ultimate, then it will install the wireless drivers for you too.

My lenovo g570 laptop does not found network adapter for wifi and blue tooth it did not recognize the hardware part may be. because i install software for that so may time. few days back i used wifi as well as bluetooth in my lapi but for last two or three month i just used lan for internet connection and in between i changed my os which is win 7 ultimate to win 7 proff. I don't know what is the reason for that.

Doing a clean install of Vista and keep getting prompted to locate and install driver for "Coprocessor". Have looked in device manager (yellow mark) but I just don't know what it is. Windows says it can't locate software for it.
Don't know what I am looking for on Acers site under drivers, installed all other stuff OK, Realtek, NVidia etc. Could it be a modem driver. Properties in device manager give no clues, it's listed as "other devices" along with the webcam which I have to sort drivers out for too.
I came across an intel 7260 card and installed it in my HP G72 with no problems. Â The notebook boots into Windows 7 64 bit with no errors. Â As soon as everything loads I try to connect to the internet and get "No Wireless networks found". Â I was using the intel wireless manual troubleshooter which stated the "radio is off" I checked the f12 key and have a blue light. Â Device Manager sees the adapter with no errors. Â The windows mobility center has the wifi network area greyed out. Â The Hp Wireless Assistant only shows bluetooth. Â I switched out that card for the old card and can access my network. if there is an fn key combo I need to press or a command I can enter in the command prompts or a regestry setting that needs to be changed.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was connected to the internet through my WiFi connection but suddenly the PC restarted after which Windows wasn't showing any wireless networks (see image 3). When I went inside PC settings, it displayed a message (see image 1) that there no wireless devices on this PC. Even in the taskbar instead of the WiFi icon, the LAN icon is displayed. And under PC Settings/Connection, only Ethernet and VPN options are displayed (no wireless connections).I do not know what went wrong. Is there some external switch to turn on the network adapter?

In image 1, now Bluetooth device is shown after auto install of an HP update, but no WiFi networks.
I have recently run the Thinkpad Rescue and Recovery to freshen up my laptop and start with a new Windows XP.
I have also run through System Update and have got all the latest drivers and software updates.

Following to this, I noticed that my Wireless isn't wokring and was not even detected. For this, I have downloaded all of the following available:

I also check the Device Manager and noticed that under the Network Adapters the following only shows: 1394 Net AdapterBroadcam NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet What could be the issue?

Also note that my wireless was working properly before going through the rescue and recovery.
After I did system diagnostic, i get message "wireless module not found (701)".and when my notebook booting, the monitor just displayed HP logo and booting again to the HP logo.

Im running vista 64 home premium and want to use my upgrade discs to get to win 7.
If i want to delete the recovery partition when do i do it? Is the best process to back up my files and then do a recovery back to vistas original state when i first got the machine and them delete the recovery partition?
Then put in the win7 upgrade dvd? Can i merge the recovery partition with the main one in vista after to delete it?
Upon receiving my new Latitude XT2, per the usual, I'd like to perform a clean install of Windows Vista Business.
However, with Dell's ControlPoint software, I'm unsure of the best way to do this.
Those of you with a new Latitude, how did you go about a clean install? More specifically, how did you handle the Dell Control Point software?

How well will the E6400 work without the dell DCP software installed. I've had the E6400 only two weeks and thinking of wiping the OS and installing Win 7 again with only the necessary drivers, without all the Dell software. The machine was using over 3.1 gigs of RAM yesterday and there was NOTHING running on the taskbar. Looked at the process list and there was no one process that was consuming my RAM, I was getting nickel and dimed by all the processes that are running. DCP seemed to be a big consumer as well as CPU time.

I’m thinking of doing a clean install on my M1530, and im just trying to decide which options to go for, and which not to.
I will be installing Vista Ultimate. I mainly use the computer for internet surfing, watching films, using Microsoft office, and gaming (Fallout 3, Call of Duty 4 etc.).
The main things I am trying to decide are:
Should I install Mediadirect?
As far as I can see the only advantage of this is getting slightly more (can anyone confirm how much?) battery life whilst watching films on the go. I mainly watch films whilst connected to power, but this could be useful in the future.32 or 64 bit?
I have previously been running 32 bit, but would be more than happy to jump on the 64 bit bandwagon, as I have heard that it’s slightly snappier, and also my 4 gigs of ram would be put to full use. Would there be any compatibility issues with any of my games etc? Would appreciate some info on this. It could lead on to...Dual-boot?

Just checking in to see if there are any important things to note before I start.
Dell is sending me a replacement SXPS16 (the 4th one. The previous 3 have been SXPS13's that have all been defective).
I genuinely hated all the bloatware on the 13's, so would you guys advise doing a fresh install on the 16?
The computer comes with the proper disc to do that, right?
I am concerned, however, as to the shear amount of Dell apps that are pre installed on the 1640 boot partition. I want to keep the dock for ex. ..I know from experience the order in what is installed as well as what is on my utlis disc is important. So-

2.If not what is the consensus in this forum for such an install. ie order of drivers,etc.
I have a Studio 15 (1535) and did a clean install with Windows 7 (32 bit) and now I'm in the process of reinstalling my programs.
I used Windows 7 Easy Transfer so I can keep track on what needs to be installed and boy this program is slick.
I didn't install all the Dell software that came with the computer but selected what I wanted
Considering doing a clean install of XP Pro on my Windows partition in order to purge my E6400 of all the Dell and other party bloatware and start from scratch.
