I have the wireless turned off, then I use a cat5 ethernet cable to connect a Belkin wireless router so that I can use the two USB ports on the back for a Networked storage device for doing regular backups on all the pc's in the house, and my non-wireless printer, so we can print from anyroom of the house, instead of taking the computer back to where the printer is. So about three days ago I got my Aspire 5734Z-4386 laptop, and I did not have a wireless connection. So I checked my phone, and it still had a connection to the Belkin. I took about ten minutes to troubleshoot the Atheros AR5B93 wireless adapter. Could not understand why I didn't have a connection, it was working great about 12 hours before.
So for some reason I used another pc and logged into the Motorola and turned the wireless back on, and immediately the Aspire was showing a connection available, I clicked it and it said "connecting" for a few seconds, and then showed "internet connection". I spent about 5 minutes surfing the internet, and then disconnected from the Motorola and reconnected to the Belkin, it said "connecting" for about a minute, then the yellow triangle came up, no internet. Went back and clikced the Motorola, again internet connection, but not on the Belkin. So I got the other pc and checked the webpage for the Belkin to make sure the Aspire hadn't gotten blacklisted somehow, there's nothing there to explain why I can't connect. So I have spent three days, uninstalling the adapter, and re-installing, I used the Motorola to download the latest driver for the adapter.
When the Aspire is on the Belkin network with the rest of the other pc's, I have no problem moving files from and to the Aspire. I can use the Aspire to log in to any of the other pc's and right-click a file and copy to the Aspire, and watch the file show up on the Aspire, or take the Aspire and copy a file over to another pc, or use another pc to access the Aspire. But I can not get an internet connection, unless I'm on the Motorola network. Now I had the wireless on the Motorola turned off so all the connected devices would be on one network so we can share files, and other network connected activities.

My laptop doesnt boot. when i turn it on, blue lights r shown for power and hard disk. but nothing on the screen. and it restarts by itself.

On mostly when my charge is 96% the charging light starts blinking red continuously , some thimes it does not charge the laptop too , but after some time it starts again.

Now that i have restored it, I can connect but then the enet mangatment will connect but then disconnect. but the windows icon says its connected. but it will not get past my router or anything and if i try to acess my router from my aspire it will not load the page. my router is fine i have several other devieces connected to it that have no problem. I have checked my router settings to make sure the settings in the comp is right i have a wpa2-personal with a apk securtiy. the router itslef is a belkin n600. since this machine is not under warrenty i cann't ask acer support. Also i can connect to any unsecured with no problem

View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently bought a Acer Aspire Nitro v15 with windows 8.1 with a qualcomm atheros ar5bwb222 wireless network card. The connection is really unstable and often disconnects and have very few bars. This is not from the router since the connection on my phone and other computers are fine. The connection (when i have it) is also really slow compared to when i use my phone on the same network. I tried updating the drivers but it says my latest drivers are installed. Could this be a Windows 8.1 problem? this is my first time owning a windows 8.1 computer.

I have an Acer Aspire 4720Z. Since long I had been using XP. Recently it was formatted and Windows 7 was installed. But after this upgradation, the WLAN is not working. Have banged my head with drivers and all.
Device manager is showing Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi miniport adapter (although with XP it simply showed by the name of WLAN adapter as far as I remember). And checking it's properties it says that the device is working properly. When Intel Wi-Fi Technology is tried to get started, it says that 'A supported intel wireless network adapter not found'.
My internet frequently disconnects from my Aspire S3-951 notebook with Athros AR5BWB225 wireless adapter. The adapter is loaded with driver version 10.0.0.227. Is there a newer driver that will prevent the frequent disconnects?

When the adapter stays open when I return to the laptop and connect again it shows that i have been connected via the adapter for days at a time. This eventually leads to the connection being clogged up and causing timeouts preventing me from connecting to the net. I stopped ittwice but dont know what I did.

I have an Aspre 5742 which is a couple of years old now. It is running Windows 7. I have been trying to output the display to my TV but it is not working.
When using the HDMI connector there is no output whatsoever. I have followed the suggestions on the Acer website about detecting connected monitors but this does not detect my TV ...
When using the VGA output the deTect function detects the presence of the TV but the TV does not detect the computer.
I have connected another computer to the same TV using the same cables (HDMI and VGA) and everything works just fine.
I have updated the video drivers on the Acer but there is no change.
A few months ago we had to change the hard disk as the original packed in. I put in the same model disc as I took out and reloaded tyhe software from the rescue disc. Prior to this the HDMI worked perfectly.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an Aspire 5742 factory loaded with Windows 7 and it worked for 3 years. Now, Microsoft is sending me 'Unauthorized Windows' messages. The hardware has not changed. Microsoft checked and said my OEM product key is fine. Restoring to a previous point failed to fix problem. I just ordered the eRecovery DVD. Is there a way to fix this without wiping the system and starting over? I have a LOT of software installed that I will hate to lose. BTW - my best guess is that malware caused this.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using this small utility for caps lock on a 5742 using W7 Pro and it works well. The 5742 doesn't have a caps lock light or indicator built into from Acer, so one have to come up with something.
This program will place a red "x" or green "check" in the taskbar letting you know if you're in caps lock and will also produce a small "beep" after a few letters typed in if in caps lock.

Got an acer 5742 running windows 7. All of a sudden the display has stopped working.
It boots fine and the display works up to the point of "starting windows". I see the windows logo for a bit then it goes off.
If I plug into an external display it works fine. In graphics properties, the display isnt even listed (only the external display shows up).

I should say it mostly connects, but with "limited connectivity" and no Internet access. I struggled during a week's vacation to connect and then had a problem connecting when I returned home, where I previously had no problems. I have typed in my security key, yet it is still saying that it cannot connect to that network. I have been on the phone with my ISP and they cannot see why it does not connect. Inserted recovery disk selected top option, inserted dsk1 when asked then dsk 2 when asked. dsk did not run error bootmgr missing ctrt/alt del to restart. Does nothing same error comes up. removed dsk tried again same thing. removed dsk shut down inserted recovery dsk to try to start over. same error.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy Acer 5742-7653 is stuck in reboot loop. It starts to load Windows 7, and then the screen goes black, and it beeps a bit, and theen starts over again. The F2 button no longer gets me into Setup. And the F12 doesn't work. I can't get into SafeMode or Setup. When the problem first began, I could sometimes get into Setup and boot from an external HD which as a diskImage.
I used to be able to remove battery, and remove HDD and RAM, and then it would boot up from the external HD. To get through a busy period at work we set the power option so the computer would never shut off. But this is creating problems with all the Firefox, Adobe and Windows updates that want to run.
This is running on Windows 7, 64bit.
How can I determine if this is a problem with the HDD, or the RAM? or Motherboard? What else could it be?

So, as you can see, the computer can be turned on, but it doesn't get through the acer screen on to the windows picture, and it automatically reboots and shuts itself down again over and over again. This has happened in the past, but the repairers have reset the operating system and BIOS. They also switched the hard disk for a new one, but this could be because of some other problems I was having (USB channels weren't working).
Everything worked fine for a month or so, and then it happened again. I myself am thinking about the motherboard being damaged.When this happened in the past however, I was still able to turn on my PC sometimes, so I was also able to save my files. Now on the other hand, I can't get the computer on anymore. The most important thing to me is saving the files. After that, I'll take it away for reparation again, where they will probably delete everything again (I can't commicate with the repairers myself, so I can't discuss terms or anything).
At the end of the vid you can see me turning off the computer by pulling out the adapter. Removing both the adapter and accu is the only way the computer can be turned off. Even shutting it down by pushing the on/off button for 5 seconds will not prevent the auto re-boot.
At some point during the day, the sound on my Acer Aspire 5742 (running on Windows 7) ceased to function. There is no sound on any internet browser, and the normal notification audio is also not playing. I have checked the mixer and everything is fine. I have checked the speaker properties, which says that the Realtek Audio speakers are enabled and working properly. However, when I try to test the speakers a message says 'Failed to play test tone'. The weird thing is that Spotify is playing totally normally. I have tried shutting down Spotify and restarting it. I have tried turning my computer off and on again.
