View 10 Repliestried to upgrade my Latitude E5510 from 2x2Gb (factury Samsung) to 2x4Gb Corsair CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9. BIOS updated to Rev. A13, latest. Memory is recognized as 8Gb. But booting into Windows7 X64 doesn't work anymore. If I boot from a Lubuntu CD (x86) it runs, naturally only with approx. 4Gb since this is a x86 OS-version. Windows 7 X64 just reboots. If I use Save Mode a reboot occurs when the loading of "ClassPnP.sys" starts. When I put in the old 2x2Gb everything works perfectly. Can't even get into Windows Setup from a clean DVD.

sony tech did a repair on my laptop and when he was done, a piece of the trim wasn't flush near the LCD hinge. To fix this, I put a drop of krazy glue under the hinge (it snaps off) on the panel above the keyboard and was able to fix the problem cleanly.
The problem is, I noticed my caps lock light no longer turns on. I have no clue when this could have happened, since it was under a couple repairs before. But, my worry is my warranty. Do you think they'll complain about replacing it if they see I had to glue a piece together? On the other hand, the light module screws into this panel so, technically they don't need to replace this panel, just the light module.
I've attempted updating my XPS 1640 BIOS to A11 in my notebook.
It hanged up at the half of it (it said "Erasing block 16 of 32") and after waiting for 1 hour, I restarted the computer...
Now it doesn't start up, when I press the power button, the 3 volume keys start to blink for some seconds, then the keyboard light turns on, and the computer turns off after a couple of seconds.
I've had my Dell XPS M1530 Notebook for just over a year now and I've been having a problem with the lid and getting the notebook to sleep when closed almost since day one!
Essentially, closing the lid does not put the computer to sleep! The screen stays on and the computer stays on. I've checked in the power options and they are all correctly configured to sleep, but I've also tried configuring them to hibernate but this still does not work. I've tried almost all of the software options and settings that I can think of and also opening up the computer to see if there were any loose connections, but everything seems fine!?
I've got my Dell Inspiron n5040 for almost 14 months, on which I upgraded to Windows 8, and now it doesn't start anymore. It tried to start in repair mode, but then it just shows a black screen, which doesn't change.
After running diagnostics I've gotten error info:
Error Code 2000-0142Validation 63358Msg: Hard Drive 0 - S/N WD-WX51A8109114, self test unsuccesful. Status = 7.
My Dell Inspiron M5010 beeps 7 times and does not work anymore.
I'm no longer covered by warranty, as I purchased this laptop over 3 years ago. What other options do I have to fix my laptop? Ideally, I'd like to recovery everything on my hard-drive, even if the laptop itself no longer works.
My friends that are into desktop publishing and graphic design are very pro Mac-centric when it comes to their work. They tell me that Macs are better than PCs (with Windows) when it comes to developing their work.
That may have been the case in the past, but Macs are not really necessary for that line of work anymore. Many applications are now more readily developed for Windows based PCs. On Windows, you get the whole Adobe Creative Suite, many audio manipulation programs superior to Garage Band (i.e. Ableton), and other neat applications. The only thing Macs have over Windows is the excellent Final Cut Pro, although Premiere is more than competent.
Many musicians have been noted to be avid Mac users. However, major pop music producers such as Timbaland and Lil' Jon now develop their music under a Windows-based platform.
Is the Mac necessary (or worth it) for doing this type of work other than the sheer chic and hip factor of Macs?
My apple had Mac and XP installed on it. My friend suggested me to install Windows 7 on it. And I thought it was a good idea. So I started my XP and runned it up. When win7 was completely installed everything seemed to work. Except that a few buttons on my keyboard don't work anymore now. The button for throwing out CD's and DVD's don't work anymore. And my 'Fn' button doesn't work anymore. Does anybody else have the same problem as me, or does someone know how to fix this. Because I also can't change the brightness. Which is set to maximum at the moment.

View 1 Replies View Relatedjust moved to BD+ and my Power DVD 7.3 can't handle it anymore and I'm getting really frustrated with trying to get my blu rays to work. Cyberlink is a terrible company probably run by like 3 guys. The customer support is awful and I can't get anything to work anymore. I'm begining to think that getting blu ray on laptops was a bad idea. WHo knew they were going to change things on a month to month basis.

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy DV9774ca I plug my HDMI cable in and watch on TV just fine, but have had to manually switch from laptop speakers to digital output manually. You have to remember to do this before starting Media Player, etc, or have to go back and start again.
Its the Realtek High Definition Audio.
how to get it to automatically switch audio to the digital when HDMI is plugged in?
I have the Y510P with Windos 8.1, latest graphic drivers. I'm connecting it to my HD TV via HDMI and the image doesn't fit well in my TV, it's a little zoomed in. I've been searching for a solution in all the menus from Intel's HD 4600, nVIDIA's Control Panel, Windows scaling... NOTHING works. I have another laptop and it has an option that scales the image and the TV shows what is supposed to show.
How can I solve that and fit what I see in my laptop's screen in the second screen (TV)?
My laptop: Lenovo Y510p, Intel Quad-Core i7-4700MQ up to 3.4GHz, Intel HD Graphics 4600, nVIDIA GeForce GT 755M 2GB GDDR5, 8GB RAM, 15.6" Full HD, 1TB 5400rpm HDD + 24GB SSD M.2 (cache), Intel Wireless-N 7260, 72Wh
my hp 2000 laptop doesn't recognize tv with hdmi cable. I get the "doesn't recognize any other monitor" error when I attempt to "detect".
I recently upgraded to windows 8.1
I have the AMD Radeon HD 6310 Graphics
The TV is a Hotel Phillips HD TV.
My game system works using VGA cable
i just got a new HDTV and I want to watch movies in surround through it. Unfortunately, passthrough is not working, only 2ch PCM stereo, I know my sound system can decode it,
it has done it through an old DVD player on optical no problem (monsters Inc DVD)
Everything works fine except eSATA. I've tested in in Windows Vista 64bit and Windows 7 64bit. Same thing in both - the computer completely freezes up when it'd usually be detecting the drive after plugging in. I'm plugging in an external HDD that works fine on my other computer.
The other computer's using XP so that could make a difference. I'm more suspecting a Dell hardware or drivers issue though. I'd be interested to know if it's a problem everyone has and Dell will maybe fix it in a year or so. They've already released a BIOS update and I've got that; no change.
I just bought a Dell XPS 15z and the CD eject button doesn't work. (I pressed function key+eject key on the keyboard as instructed in the manual.)
Tried to update my keyboard drivers from the cd provided but there isn't any keyboard drivers in the cd... CD can be ejected by right clicking on the dvd drive and choose "eject".
I bought a Dell Inspiron n5110 but it USB 3.0 is not working for me when i put the mouse or flash-drive in, do i suppose to install a driver to get this work? Any link for a driver? because i was trying to find but didn't work....
View 15 Replies View RelatedDid anyone get HDMI Audio to work with windows 7 on M1530?
View 10 Replies View RelatedFor whatever reason, whenever I'm watching a video or something online, my audio will just cut out for no reason via HDMI. If I leave it alone for a while it comes back
Drivers are all updated, the cable itself is fine (Works perfectly for picture), and the integrated speakers work fine when sound is routed through them.
I have a Dell XPS M1530, and have recently joined the HD Television world and bought a Toshiba 40" 40RV525RZ. I was checking out the HDMI feature on the laptop, checking out how I might be able to use the tv as an awesome monitor replacement. Looks great so far!
My problem is that the audio from the TV is slightly out of sync from the audio on my laptop. Considering I can't turn off the audio on my laptop without turning off the audio on the television (at least, if I can I don't know how), it's annoying having the echo effect coming from my TV and the stereo attached to it.
I decided to try playing some 720p video on my Sanyo 42" LCD HDTV (native res 1366x768). I assumed it would be as easy as just connecting an HDMI cable and setting my m1530 to clone desktop.. I couldn't have been more wrong.
After doing some research it appears that LCD HDTVs aren't as flexible as regular LCD monitors with respect to HDMI input. No matter what I do, the screen always appears cropped around the edges on my TV.
What I've tried so far:
1) Setting a custom 1366x768 resolution in the nVidia control panel.
2) Tried setting my hdtv as primary monitor and setting the res.
3) Used Powerstrip (program) in an attempt to force a 1366x768 res (not sure if I'm doing this entirely correctly, I'm a little confused over what the correct advanced timings should be).
4) I hear this issue is called "overscan", so I looked through my TV menu for any overscan or zoom/image scaling options but couldn't find any.
I'm using the 179.28 Nvidia driver.
I'm running out of things to try, does anyone know how to make this thing work?
I have heard numerous comments stating that individuals are only getting Stereo Sound from their HDMI port but then other comments explaining that yes, indeed, it supports Dolby Digital....5.1 Audio etc.
The HDMI port is 1.2 which allows for a PCM 8 audio stream signal.
I have a receiver that allows for internal 7.1/5.1 Audio streams (all of the latest codecs can be decoded and processed) with HDMI output/input connections.
Will I be able to send a 5.1 PCM Audio stream to my AV Receiver and thereby utilizing the full range of audio?
I can't get sound through HDMI connection from my XPS M1530 to my TV (Samsung LCD).
Video transfers great but audio still comes through the laptop speakers.
Testing through Control Panel->Sound->HDMI->Properties->Advanced I can hear the sound through the TV speakers, however there is no audio on my TV when playing music, DVD's, videos etc.
The HDMI installed codec is from Sigma Tel.
I currently have a 13" Unibody Macbook and I'm looking to hook it up to a 32" Sony Bravia LCD.
I am looking to purchase the Monoprice Mini-DP --> DVI dongle and hook that up with my Monster 400 HDMI to DVI cable.
I have the very same cable which I use to connect my HP desktop to my Sony LCD TV.
My only concern right now is what I read about DVI-I versus DVI-D. On the cable's packaging it says "SINGLE-LINK Connection ... For connecting HDMI to DVI components up to 1080i resolution"
I'm looking at the pins on the DVI portion of the cable and its group liked this:
9 pins (3x3) SPACE 9 pins (3x3) SPACE horizontal metallic piece.
The Monoprice adapter and the Apple adapter looks different in terms of the slots which the pins will go through.
I just want to make sure I have right components before I buy the adapter.
I've bene playing a game (tf2) on my laptop, and 3 times now its turned off, just straight up turned off, and so I turned it back on, and then the keyboard didn't work no matter what I did.
So I called dell and they said some sort of static built up in the keyboard, and to take out battery, and wall plug, and hold power for 15 seconds, and then turn comp on. I did that and it restored my keyboard to full use.
But now twice since then my comp has shut down, and I've had to use that technique to restore it...
This laptop is only 2 weeks old, ? Why is it having problems a mere 2 weeks after I got it.
I mean I'm not even typeing fast enough to make a static charge, in game you only use a couple buttons. Also i'm on tile floors, no carpet at all, I use my laptop on a table although it does get hot.
Just installed the card instead of the broken one (fx2500 as well) that was installed on my laptop for about one year. After reassembling the computer and turning it on nothing is happen on the screen although the HD and DVD driver are making the noises and leds are on as well. Reinstalling the bad card returns me to the previous condition when i see all screen pixeled with gibrish and finally crashing the system immediately after windows is finishing to load.
On the new card (purchased from eBay as used item in good condition for 260$) i noticed Rev A02 instead of A00 on the broken card. Do you think that the problem is revision or the card is just piece of crap? Any idea to get it back to Rev A00?
I'm trying to install a CD-Rom game (Dawn of war fyi) on my Studio 1537 but when I insert the CD in the computer nothing happens.
When I go to "My Computer" the drive reads "BD-ROM" (What does that mean), and if I click it nothing happens.
