Dell Inspiron 1564 :: Beeps 5 Times Then Boots Up
Jan 13, 2015I have a laptop model inspiron 1564.it didnt want to boot up at all.took battery out and put back in. And now it boots up but it beeps 5 times then boots up.

Jan 11, 2015I need to replace the RAM on my XPS. It no longer boots and just beeps (4 times) continously. Which I believe indicates a RAM issue (Either it not being seated properly or it needs replacing). Is there a guide on how to do this?

I already read other posts and have removed battery, power buttom for 30 seconds. etc. It didn't work and I have not tried anything else.
One post talked about removing/replace the internal battery and another talked about remove/replace memory.
What is this the logical progression of things I should try before the Big Hammer?

However i changed the coin cell battery twice and nothing change still beeps. So i updated the BIOS but unfortunately didn't work. More over i did a system restore to a windows update a week ago also still beeps at startup.

Oct 26, 2011My Dell Inspiron N5110 beeps 5 times for 5 times in a row when I boot up my computer. I ran a system scan everything passed except it said to launch window memory test.
Did that and it also said it passed. I did a code search and have not been able to fing anything with 5 beeps, 5 times in a row.

Mar 6, 2013My Inspiron M5030 laptop was working perfectly fine last night. It was plugged in all night, and I had done the usual hibernate/sleep mode before going to bed. When I tried to start it up this morning, the screen remained black. It made the startup fan noise but then that stopped. Then it gave seven quite loud beeps. If I don't turn it off, it continues to give the seven beeps separated by a short break.

Mar 10, 2013My Dell Inspiron M501R will no longer boot up - its shows a black screen and repeatedly beeps 7 times. I understand this means the mother board has failed. The service tag is <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy> - its waranty has recently expired.
Interestingly, if you google "Inspiron M501R" google suggests "Inspiron M501R 7 beeps". So I'm guessing this laptop has been designed to fail soon after the waranty expires.
I have written a letter to BBC Watchdog asking how long a laptop can be "expected" to last and whether this would be covered by the UK Sale of Goods Act.

Apr 28, 2013My Dell Studio 1555 won't start anymore. When I want to turn it on, I get a beeping signal (2 beeps) and nothing happens. I tried all possible troubleshooting tips from the dell website (disconnecting all power and hold power button, reconnect to power, checked battery with the button on the battery, all fine, can't get into bios because computer doesn't start at all) but nothing works. Recently I also checked if the motherboard is connected properly and there is no issue either.
I also purchased a new dell adapter because my old one was a little bit damaged. The adapter is like the old one, and it's originally dell and the correct one for the studio 1555 so it can't be the adapter. Laptop also doesn't start when the battery is not in and it's only connected to the power.

Feb 9, 2010Anyone has a review on Inspiron 1564 please? I am debating on this one with studio 15. This inspiron has numeric keypad. That's why I love it. Since, I personalize this one. So I think that it is similar to stuido 15. However, studio 15 has i5 520. I dont know i5 430 is good or not? When will Dell have i5 520 on inspiron 1564?

I have tried to unbrick my laptop with the bootable USB flash with my correct A06 BIOS.WPH file extracted from 1564_A06.exe. After plugging in the Power cord and after releasing the END key that I hold for 3 seconds, fan starts spinning BUT there is no light on Power LED and it stays dead with fan spinning. I left the laptop for almost 30 minutes but didn't see anything happening....
