My dell Inspiron N5110 Beeps 5 times, stop, 5 beeps,stop then the windows open normally and every thing is fine. However i changed the coin cell battery twice and nothing change still beeps. So i updated the BIOS but unfortunately didn't work. More over i did a system restore to a windows update a week ago also still beeps at startup.

Did that and it also said it passed. I did a code search and have not been able to fing anything with 5 beeps, 5 times in a row.
When I power up my inspiron N5110, it beeps 3 times, beeps 3 times, etc, but does not turn on.

When I tried to start it up this morning, the screen remained black. It made the startup fan noise but then that stopped. Then it gave seven quite loud beeps. If I don't turn it off, it continues to give the seven beeps separated by a short break.

I also noticed that the bottom left of the screen disattached, but I was able to put it back in. I understand that 8 beeps mean LCD failure. View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Studio 1555 won't start anymore. When I want to turn it on, I get a beeping signal (2 beeps) and nothing happens. I tried all possible troubleshooting tips from the dell website (disconnecting all power and hold power button, reconnect to power, checked battery with the button on the battery, all fine, can't get into bios because computer doesn't start at all) but nothing works. Recently I also checked if the motherboard is connected properly and there is no issue either.
I also purchased a new dell adapter because my old one was a little bit damaged. The adapter is like the old one, and it's originally dell and the correct one for the studio 1555 so it can't be the adapter. Laptop also doesn't start when the battery is not in and it's only connected to the power.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Inspiron M501R will no longer boot up - its shows a black screen and repeatedly beeps 7 times. I understand this means the mother board has failed. The service tag is <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy> - its waranty has recently expired.
Interestingly, if you google "Inspiron M501R" google suggests "Inspiron M501R 7 beeps". So I'm guessing this laptop has been designed to fail soon after the waranty expires.
I have written a letter to BBC Watchdog asking how long a laptop can be "expected" to last and whether this would be covered by the UK Sale of Goods Act.
Yesterday the laptops wifi adapter stopped working.. Then after sometime the laptop started to give 5 beeps on startup.. The beeps continued even after Windows was running.. And now the computer doesn't turn on.. The fan and stuff turns on but nothing is displayed on the screen.. Also there are no beeps anymore!
