Dell Inspiron 15r :: Bubbles Then Flashing On Screen
Nov 28, 2014
I have an Inspiron 15r that acts up sometimes. I never know when it going to do it. Online or just using computer of my pictures or anything!
Along the left side of the screen bubbles start coming up then the screen starts flashing sometime its whatever web sight I was on or email or looking a my documents.
It started when the machine wasn;t ever 6 mo. old. I doesn't do it every day. But yesterday it did it every time I turned it on.
My warranty is coming up and I'd like to get this fixed.
Yesterday i bought a Dell Inspiron 13 7347Â and I dont know whats wrong with the touch screen on my Dell Inspiron 13 7347. The screen keeps flashing white bubbles, white streaks and the icons are all moving around, shrinking/expanding; and jumping from one screen to another?Â
I disabled the touchscreen driver and now its working fine without the touch screen; by the time i enable the driver
I recently purchased an Inspiron 7720 in October 2012. A week ago, the laptop started freezing up while playing world of warcraft. I checked my Nvidia video card and there were some updates. I installed them and the computer started working normal again. On Saturday, while I was using Skype to transfer a file, the computer gave me a white screen and I had to hold down the power button to get it to shutdown. It rebooted and was working normal again. Then yesterday (Sunday), while using video chat on Skype the computer screen went into a flashing color pattern and I had to hold down the power button to get it to shutdown. Are there any diagnostic tests that I can run before calling Dell's tech department? I believe it is a video card issue but not completely sure.
I have a 1 year old inspiron 1520 laptop which has suddenly stopped working.
When I press the power button, the power light comes on but I don't hear a fan whirring, the battery light also comes on. The screen is totally blank and the caps lock icon continually flashes and after about a minute the computer shuts down.
This happens with the battery attached or connected to the mains.
Hey guys I have had my SXPS 1645 for almost 8 months now and I recently have had issues with it. Whenever I turn it on, it seems to boot fine (maybe a few more clicks then usual) and the boot up screen is tinted blue and the screen flashes. The OS seems to work fine as it logs in and everything, yet the screen tint and flashing remains. I assume its a problem with the RGBLED display, but I am not sure how exactly I can remedy this problem.
As the title suggests I am starting to see small air bubbles form under the glass on my Adamo 13 laptop - along the edge of the LCD monitor and the black border. I cannot seem to find any other reports of this issue on the web.
This laptop almost never leaves the house, or even the desk it sits on, and is otherwise in perfect condition. It is run in a 75-degree house, low humidity (Phoenix, AZ) - really no reason I can see as to why this would be happening, at least not from anything I am doing.
Studio XPS 1647 laptop can't boot past POST and stuck at Dell splash screen with progress bar at ~80%. After holding down FN and pressing the power button, all three volume LEDS would flash twice, immediately followed by the volume UP and DOWN keys flashing, and then followed by just the Volume Down LED flashing.
Recently my Studio XPS 1647 has had overheat problems, and sometimes they would cause BSOD with broken screen images. The BSOD always came with bcode 116 error: this is apparently video card related. So last weekend I opened the case, removed the heat sink and the fan. The heat sink vent was completely blocked with a thick layer of dirt, so it's no wonder for overheating. I cleaned up the heatsink vent and the fan, cleaned up the top of CPU chip and the top of GPU chip, reapplied thermal paste and put everything back together. After that, the machine couldn't pass the Dell splash screen on boot. I've already checked the discussions here and followed suggestions on holding down the power button to remove static, reseating the memory card etc., but they are of no use.
Finally I followed the instructions on starting up ePSA. I've tried it repeatedly, and every time the boot always stuck at the Dell splash screen with the progress bar at about 80% with or without applying ePSA. The SPA screen never came up if I held down FN+Power button. The difference between a generic boot and a PSA boot is that if I held down FN+Power button, all three volume LEDS would flash twice, immediately followed by the volume UP and DOWN keys flashing, and then followed by just the Volume Down LED flashing.
I've read from a few discussions talking about all three volume LEDS flashing would be a motherboard problem. But in my case it's three LEDs flashing twice, followed by volume UP and DOWN keys flashing once, and then followed by just the Volume Down LED flashing continuously. What this PSA blinking code means?
my daughters DV4t began having video issues. The unit had been flawless for a year but after the unit had run for 5 to 10 minutes, every 4 or 5 seconds or so it would begin flashing a pencil thin green line horizontally across the entire bottom of the screen. The longer the unit ran the larger the line would become until it consumed the entire task bar. It demonstrated this behavior in normal mode, safe mode, and in BIOS mode. I tried everything I knew (drivers, BIOS, etc…) to solve the problem without resolution.
Luckily we have an extended 3 year warranty with ADP. The unit is/was just over its initial 1 year warranty period (Christmas). The unit was returned for repair and HP replaced the lid, LCD, and associated parts. I’m happy to say that in 8 days the unit came back with no issues and in flawless condition, but I must also say that it’s a bit disappointing that such a failure should occur so early in it’s well cared for life.
flashing screen on a Envy m6-1125dx?  After log in it starts to flash between a blue screen and the desktop. It's impossible to perform any task. This problem started after an automatic upgrade from windows 8 to 8.1. I am able to launch the task manager, but there is no response to any command.Â
I have a N5010 Inspiron. My battery has been down to a few minutes for a yr or two. I keep my laptop plugged in always unless traveling.
Today, my battery light started flashing. Amber for times then white then repeats. Since I was plugged in I was perplexed. I looked on my screen and it showed 100 percent battery meaning I am plugged in.
Then I turned my computer completely off. THE LIGHT KEPT FLASHING. Now it is getting spooky. I unplug the power supply from the back of the computer and the light went off.
Hours later I plugged everything back in. Started the computer and the light started again. Since it is no warning for anything other than the battery,Â
I tried unplugging while computer was on. Still flashing.
I turned off. Took battery out and put back in. Still Flashing.Â
While off AND battery out I plugged in and no flashing
Put batter back in....plugged in and flashing resumed.Â
when I try to start my Inspiron 15 the battery light will flash and then wait for a few seconds and then flashes again. I put a post tester and it says no codes and restarts and flashes again no codes.
When I press the power button it will flash the dell logo then go black and sit there as long as I let it like that without changing. I've tried to research this situation and it seems this is a problem with these specific laptops. However, no solutions (like removing battery and ac adapter, pressing power for 1-2 min, reconnecting ac adapter, etc.) that seem to work for others have worked on mine yet. I'm concerned and starting to get extremely frustrated as I've only had this laptop for a month and a half. I'm a nursing student who has many tasks to complete on my (nearly BRAND NEW) computer daily and have a pretty nonexistent budget (which would explain my hesitancy to take it in for repairs somewhere).
I have been having problems getting my laptop to boot. I've performed a laundry list of repair options and nothing has worked. As of this moment, I've managed to narrow the query down to the flashing LED light code FLASHING Num Lock-SOLID Caps Lock-Solid Scroll Lock. I've done some further research and I've only managed to get sketchy information at best. It is saying that the problem has something to do with the processor or the system dock--if that information is reliable. I've had contradicting answers on that. I've reseated the processor several times, even switching the processor with a virtually identical processor from my WORKING Inspiron 1501 with no change. And just to confirm that the processor initially seated in the 1526 is working, I have put it in the 1501 and it works. I've swapped compatible components between both machines and everything has worked after being seated in the 1501.
I have an inspiron laptop. been working fine now all of a sudden the circle icon keeps flashing in the background it doesn't go out. Ran norton antivirus didn't catch anything. checked register disks everything ok. the computer is working fine except it just keeps flashing off and on again.
I tried rebooting removing battery nothing works. the only msg i received was a box that said wireless configuration OLE initialization failed, make sure that the OLE libraries the correct version. I am running windows home premiun 7.
I have an HP G32-205TX notebook...I had a problem which was the device would loop on start without showing the start up post or HP logo.
I changed the Ram memmory and it was fixed. Now I am having a some kind different problem, The notebook stopped looping on start but has all its LED flashing(Caps Lock, Wifi, Lan and the side LED)....
I have a HP G26 notebook pc, it has windows 7 on it and when I turn it on it only get to the windows start up screen with the little flashing logo and won't boot any further.. I have tried system repair, my back up disks.....
I have an Acer Aspire E1 model Q5WPH, runnng Windows 8. All has been well until this week when the screen began flashing random colours.  I powered the machine off and from then on it refuses to boot back up. Power appears to be getting through as it starts up the DVD drive but then the power light goes off - then back on and the process continues until I power the machine off again.
I recently purchased DELL N5010 INSPIRON, but now it give one problem. It is not run without AC power. and when i point the battery through mouse it show
"17% available (Plugged in, Not Charging).
And battry light flashing 4 times with orange light after a second. It is the bug or any hardware problem, because the bettery may be only 2 month old...
I was using my laptop today, and the battery light just randomly started blinking red, even though the battery still had 33% left. Â So I plugged it in, and the light still kept flashing and when I held my mouse over the battery icon, it said that it was plugged in but not charging. Â Does this mean that the battery is toast?Â
My laptop is just over a year old, and out of the warranty. I'm particularly upset about this.
My battery, which was working just fine yesterday is now giving me a "plugged in," not charging message. The lights on the front of the computer (Dell Inspiron 14z, 2012 model) is flashing orange 3x then white.
My mom has the same laptop as me and hers is working fine. Her adapter (which works for her) would not charge my battery. Her battery worked in my laptop but would not charge. Using her battery, I updated the BIOS since I couldn't previously as it was less than 10%.
I have a problem with my laptop. Just the power light is lighting up and the battery indicator is flashing in orange ( with charger, without charger - nothing). Nothing on the screen, no fans, no sound.
My Inspiron 1520 just recently started blinking a red battery light. It just keeps blinking. Theres no stop to it... even if i re-insert the battery it shows the blinking red light and it keeps blinking steadily. Also when checking with quickset it doesnt recognize any battery at all. When i remove the ac adapter my pc just shuts off and wont run until plugged in. I read in the manual and it told me to contact dell if it happened.
I dont know if its defected or something? My warranty is pretty much dead... and I've always left the computer plugged on.. dont know if that affects the battery. Will I have to replace my battery, if it runs out or is defected? I checked and its $135 bucks for a new battery....
I just bought a Lenovo Ideapad S210 a couple of month ago. When I start using the touchscreen everything works for a couple of seconds and then randomly bubbles with about a half inch diameter start popping up, usually in a horizontal fashion across my screen. These bubbles that I am referering to are the visual effect when a finger touches the screen. So far these rogue bubbles seem to spawn whenever I start using the touchscreen, and keep me from controlling my cursor with my track pad, touch screen, or an external mouse once they appear. The only thing that works then is to shutdown the laptop, which is a big annoyance.  It is running on Win 8 default settings.
Dell Inspiron 1150 plug charger in two green lights start flashing replaced battery with identical laptop same thing but if I charge one on another computer then put it in this one it will run till battery goes dead and will not charge
I have a Dell Inspiron 1440 which I've been using since 2010. Recently I bought a new charger for my laptop as the old one got damaged and now when I'm charging the laptop the touch pad is not working properly. It is slow and sometimes I can't select items with the touch pad. So I changed the charger and when I checked in the shop the touch pad with new charger (the second one) Â was working fine. But when I went home again the same problem with the touch pad when charging only. When I remove the charger it works fine. And I also tried with a friends charger (but another dell model) and it works fine. Â And now my laptop battery indicator is blinking red three times. That also happens when charging only.
HP Mini 110-3100. When power up, get the HP logo and then a blank screen with curser flashing upper left hand corner.
Ran diagnostics --- everything passed. Cannot get into System Recovery Cannot get into Safe Mode I do get into the Setup Utility but  nothing there that fixes the problem. I do get into System information, but again, nothing there to fix this start up problem.  Estimates at local shops to fix start at minimum $110 - obviously could be higher However, Amazon selling HP Mini 110-1030NR for $110  Questions: 1.  How I can recover to operate the HP MIni 110-3100 I have? 2.  What are the differences in 110-3100 versus the 110-1030NR 3.  If I decide to buy the -1030NR instead of having the -3100 repaired, what I am giving up and ALSO, what does the NR stand for?
I was flashing my bios of my dell xps studio 16 (i don't know which 17xx it is... it has i5 and 4gb of ram. some ati vidfeo card with 1gb of vram, 15.6 LCD)
And then it froze for about an hour. So I unplugged power, took out battery and tried to boot it up. To my dismay, nothing showed up on the screen.
I have so much stuff on my HD that I need.
What are some ways to fix my laptop? Do I have to send it to dell? Will I lose all my data?
Last week I received my brand new Dell Studio XPS 1340. After some days I got the "Power Adapter cannot be determined .....". So I called Dell Tech Support. He told me to flash the BIOS from A02 to A03. So I did. Under the flashing I got a bluescreen. So the information on the BIOS was gone. So yesterday a Dell Techincan came to my house and replaced the motherboard with a new one. I noticed that this motherboard has BIOS version A01 (the oldest one). I also noticed that the processor fans is always on 4000 RPM. It never slows down to 2000 RPM, even if the temperature is on 40 degree celcius.
So I though this had to be something with the old BIOS version. So I called Dell, and I tried to flash from A01 to A02. But the same bluescreen came, this time, lucky for me, before the flashing! So nothing get destroyed!
Anyway, Copy paste the dump file here:
Seems like PHLASHNT.SYS has something to with this? Have someone have this same problem as me? The fans never stop, and I think its because of the old bios version. And:
1) No errors on the diagnosic test (full system scan) 2) I switched from Vista 32 bit to Vista Business 64 bit (original) with the signed drivers from dell.com (all my drivers are verified)
DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4) A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. After trying many drivers and having many questions left unanswered, I decided I wanted to try this route to see how it goes.
I was told when I bought my FX2500m that I could flash it with the 7900GTX BIOS since they are both the same card basically.
I'm having problems where I can play some games no problem, and others lock-up after only seconds of play, sifting through 5 drivers (NBF and Xtreme-G) I decided either I have a faulty card or maybe the FX2500m doesn't have a shader or whatever that some of the games I'm testing it with need.
I only have a couple more days to report this card as a DoA so I'm wanting to test all the possibilities before (possibly) shipping it back.
Long story short, can someone give me a link to a 7900GTX BIOS? And give me a quick run-down on how to go about actually doing the flash and backing up my own?
Have a question for you. Last night I had my laptop connected up to the ECM of my car (for diagnostics purposes) and went for a drive with it connected to the ECM. No Problem. Got back from the trip and the battery was down to 4% so I promptly shut it down (after turning the car off).
I plugged the charger in and the battery is back up to 100% but for some reason the orange flashing battery light on the laptop keeps flashing. I have taken the power pack out and the battery is ok, works as per normal
