flashing screen on a Envy m6-1125dx?  After log in it starts to flash between a blue screen and the desktop. It's impossible to perform any task. This problem started after an automatic upgrade from windows 8 to 8.1. I am able to launch the task manager, but there is no response to any command.Â

Â After the updates, I can't do anything except turn on the computer, see the HP page, the green log in with password page, then all goes dark blue and freezes. Â It will not even rcognize the keyboard to back out. Â It is an HP Envy 20 all in one desktop. Â I have removed the back, all looks good, everything is secured and in place.

My HP Envy dv6 recently did one of its updates and after that it restarted. Now when I turn my computer on it has the Hp logo, the login and after I log in nothing. There's just a black screen with a glow and the cursor. I know it's working because I can hear noises and the fan going but I can't see my desktop. But if I use the simple pass finger identification it will take me to the we page I saved on the designated finger. That's the only way I can get to the internet. I can't use anything else because I can't see my desktop. I can do ctrl alt del and that pops up but it doesn't do any good. I did the unplug everything, take out the battery, plug in AC adapter but not the battery , hold power button for 15 seconds then put the AC adapter but not the battery and turn on thing and nothing changed. I tried multiple restarts and shutdowns and nothing changed.

I just got a problem today on my HP Envy notebook Product number = F7P58PA. It has working fine till yesterday night. It has windows 8.1 on it, and may be some updates are installed on it during the night (I am not too sure about it).

THe issue is that when I login to windows by providing my pin the start up screen does not show up. its simply blank with cursor showing only. ALT-CTRL DEL gives the task manager and I can run internet explorer through task manager run command but start up screen remains blank.

I have done battery, memory etc tests and nothing has resolved the issue.
My pc (G72 laptop) screen failed to unlock...despite using right password.It' showing ; user profile login failed!
View 4 Replies View RelatedIm a ENVY 17-j092nr Notebook PC (windows 8.1) pc user with all drivers and OS updates working fine, nevertheless sometimes im getting an annoying error that makes windows vibrate like crazy, the problem is a little odd to explain, it makes the BAR on explorer.exe folder flick and other "content frames" from several software, on Firefox for instance the upper bar which is orange start flicking useless, or in vlc it flicks the same, and then the worst on the windows log screen, that makes my picture flicks fast from the left to the middle several times per second, making impossible to write any password and its especially annoying when simple pass stop working.

Thing that i tried:
-Changing mouse and installing video, display, mouse and other drivers besides updating them.
-Using Windows build and external software fix and repair utilities.
-Updating OS (Why? dk but i was trying alternatives).
-Disconnection electricity when this happens didn't work.
-Cleaning fan and avoiding any external particle on mouse laser.
I have a envy dv6 serial 2ce2502rs6 product b6b49av. It starts up with hp logo and goes to black screen. I tried repair before and it didn't work. I tried the hard restart and it came on and I selected repair and it didn't work again so I selected turn off and now it goes to black screen.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have just bought the HP Envy 15-j140na directly from HP. The laptop is fantastic, however I am having a problem with the fingerprint reader. The computer comes with the simplepass software version 8.00.57 already installed.

The problem I have is that once I have set up the fingerprint reader with simple pass, it doesn't prompt me to scan my print during the windows login and i have to log in normally. I have checked all of the settings and it should be set up, however there is no prompt. Just to note that everything else works fine. I can sign into websites on IE no problem at all using the fingerprint reader. It can be slightly frustrating as this defeats the point of having a fingerprint reader.
I have pavilion dv7, so far I had no problem. Now, when I login it logs in but then instead of showing me the home screen, it goes into blank black screen. It has just started to happen and I hope there is another way to make it work without rebooting the whole system.

Whenever I turn it on, it seems to boot fine (maybe a few more clicks then usual) and the boot up screen is tinted blue and the screen flashes. The OS seems to work fine as it logs in and everything, yet the screen tint and flashing remains. I assume its a problem with the RGBLED display, but I am not sure how exactly I can remedy this problem.

The unit had been flawless for a year but after the unit had run for 5 to 10 minutes, every 4 or 5 seconds or so it would begin flashing a pencil thin green line horizontally across the entire bottom of the screen. The longer the unit ran the larger the line would become until it consumed the entire task bar. It demonstrated this behavior in normal mode, safe mode, and in BIOS mode. I tried everything I knew (drivers, BIOS, etc…) to solve the problem without resolution.
Luckily we have an extended 3 year warranty with ADP. The unit is/was just over its initial 1 year warranty period (Christmas). The unit was returned for repair and HP replaced the lid, LCD, and associated parts. I’m happy to say that in 8 days the unit came back with no issues and in flawless condition, but I must also say that it’s a bit disappointing that such a failure should occur so early in it’s well cared for life.
I have an Inspiron 15r that acts up sometimes. I never know when it going to do it. Online or just using computer of my pictures or anything!
Along the left side of the screen bubbles start coming up then the screen starts flashing sometime its whatever web sight I was on or email or looking a my documents.
