I have a Dell Inspiron 1721 that is not detecting the battery. I have swapped out the battery with another battery and have swapped out the AC/DC charger. But it is still not recognizing the battery, it will work fine with the power cord plugged in.

But anyways, her laptop seems to run a little (burning hot to me). It's not all the time, but all she did was play farmville on Facebook for maybe 2 hours, and it's burning hot to the touch. (Half of the time it was plugged in.
I made the mistake of staggering my laptop purchase and didn't get the second hard drive installed when I bought it. Now I'm trying to put two hard drives in it, but found out that dell didn't include the caddy for the second drive in the computer.

I have taken to my local computer shop and they are unable to fix. said it has a RAID ARY 2 hard drive set up and they do not have the equipment to fix it!
my Dell laptop wont start up. I would turn it on and it would go to windows logo screen and then go black. I tried the system recovery and then it says insert the instalation media for the device and click ok to select the driver. I dont have a cd and all the drivers I use are not being recognized.

To start off, I did the recharge and discharge method and after that, when I disconnected the AC-Power, it only shows the "Total Battery Charge 100%" but the primary, it doesn't say anything. Plus, when it was unplugged, it stays at 100%. Few minutes later, it will drop to 7% and the Battery LED will flash orange to tell me that the battery is low.
And my Battery health is good, but why is Windows 7 not detecting the battery charge properly??

Now, I own a dell Inspiron 1721 and have recently bought 2 gig of ram, just to speed things up a little! However, when I recieved it, it came in two sepeate modules of 1 gig. Not to worry I thought as every website says the Dell Inspiron 1721 has 2 slots. Opening up the back of my laptop, I could only find one slot.

The F8 and CTRL F11 do not work at all. I did the hours long total diagnostic that is built in and everthing passed - so must be software.
How do I recover? Can I just install a new version of Windows (to replace Vista) and save the existing files and software on the laptop?
I have replaced the hard drives with new blank ones, but I cannot now reinstall Vista from the Reinstallation DVD because no drives are seen.
I have updated the BIOS to the latest available version, but still no joy.
I have taken out the drives and, using an external HDD port, can access them from another PC, so I'm certain there's no issues with the drives themselves.
I've tried Paragon 2010 Suite, but even that cannot "see" the drives, so I'm deducing that it's an issue peculiar to this Dell model.
I recently had to reinstall my operating system. Upon returning home I attempted to down the Touch Pad.exe and the message I get is this download from Dell can't be downloaded to my Inspiron 1721 operating system.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron N5110 that is about 2 years old. The hard drive was replaced in January this year after being damaged. For the past couple of months I have had a problem with a second monitor being detected when the mains power cable is connected. There has never been a second monitor connected to this laptop. The screen resolution changes and if you have the Display panel open you can see it switch between single monitor and dual monitor. Every time it does this the screen goes black and then comes back up, the mouse pointer resets to the middle of the screen and it makes the noise you would expect when something is being plugged in. All of this does not happen when running on battery power. It happens most when the battery power is almost full or almost empty and the screen can change anywhere up to every 1-2 seconds at this time. When the charge is more towards the middle of the battery it happens a lot less often, maybe only every couple of minutes. It is almost to the point where the laptop is unusable if it is charging. We have checked the display drivers and reinstalled them just in case it was that but it didn't seem to make any difference.

I went to the Dell driver download website and seen only 32bit drivers. So, I took a chance on trying to get the correct for this specific hardware:
Dell has not informed me to return my Inspiron to them. Customer Service & Tech Support did not tell me to do this and I did not receive a return shipping label or any kind of paperwork to facilitate a return of the old device....so....

I got the 1721 for x-mas. Its worked pretty well but it has a hell of a time multi-tasking then giving the blue screen of death and restarting on its own. Well yesterday I turned it on and it said that their were errors and it could not boot properly and would i like to do system restore.
Then it booted up to my log on screen but none of the buttons would work. So I restarted and got the same message about errors and then the screen went 99% black, I could only read it in the right angle of light
Sometimes when I try installing a game on it, it won't show any disk in the drive. I'll put the disk in, open My Computer,
but wont show anything except the C and D drives.

ZTE AC2737 (Data Card ) is not detecting while trying to install in Win 7 32 Bit. Getting error "ZTE AC2737 (Data Card ) timeout when searching new device, you need install driver manually". But same device is working on other laptops.

I have a Latitude laptop as described above and for some reason it isn't detecting the SSD Drive.
It states: No Boot Device Found, press any key to reboot
I read on the Dell support website the laptop may need setting up in maintenance mode?
However after pressing alt+f at the Dell logo nothing happens it just tries to boot.
took the 40 gig out and put a 120gig in but shows up in bios no harddrive detected and its now the same when i put the 40gig back in ive noticed its not spinning too .

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to install a Medialink Bluetooth on a Lenovo B560 running Windows 7 but nothing seems to "take." No Bluetooth devices are detected. Got a factory replacement dongle, tried installing the Broadcom software several times (from disk and a link), most recently today (1-2-14). I tried the 0pbl08ww.exe fix but without success: message was "no appropriate driver to be installed." My phone detects the speaker device I want to use (Creative 100), so that's not the problem.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis has been getting on my nerves lately. In the past, they never bothered releasing drivers for laptops but now that they do, I can't get it to work with my laptop, which is HP Pavilion 6670ee with NVidia 8400M GS...
I know that 3rd party driver will work with it but I am not able to get the PhysX support with those drivers for some reason and if I download Notebook driver from NVidia website, the latest which they released few days ago for example.
I get this error during installation:
The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit.
It's NVidia's own 8400M GS - wth is it not detecting it?
My Acer is detetecting my home wifi but cannot connect. I have the laptop just over a year and this problem has just cropped up.
It detects iPhone hot spot and connect to that.
There is no issue with the home wifi as other devices are coneecting without issue.
Have a HP 2000-2d01SL laptop. The digital media slot is not detecting. Only windows confirmation sound on speakers when inserting a SD card. Nothing else happens on screen or else. Running windows 7 SP132bit with all windows updates done.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with the fingerprint reader and HP simple pass identity protection software that came with my Dv6-3121nr. For some reason all of a sudden since this morning it won't work. There are no lights on the sensor and it does not respond to any swipe/movement. When I launch the Simple pass software and go to the fingerprints section, it says the finger print reader is not connected. Interestingly when I go to device manager I don't see any biometric devices listed under there. I read on another thread that some options from under biometic devices in device manager fixed the problem.
I've already tried uninstalling/reinstalling Simple pass from the recovery manager and have also uninstalled and updated the validity sensor but still no go. Here are some other details:
Laptop model: Dv6-3121nr
Operating System: Windows 7 premium 64bit
Validiy Sensor DDK version: 4.1.139.0
Lenovo G500 - BIOS stopped detecting DVD-RAM Drive
In fact DVD Drive has worked properly about 10 months and now disappeared from BIOS. DVD is also not visible in Device Manager.
DVD Drive is integrated in laptop. When I push the DVD’s button, LED indicator flashes and tray ejects. When I place a CD and close the tray, the LED indicator starts blinking and a noise of rotating can be heard. After several seconds the blinking stops first and noise after that.
My question is if there is any way to check whether the DVD Drive is really broken and needs replacement or something in my BIOS settings is wrong?
The BIOS was recently updated to the newest version available in Lenovo Support. That caused no problems with DVD Drive and it worked normally.
A week ago I updated successfully Windows 7 Professional x86 to Windows 7 Ultimate x64 via Windows Anytime Upgrade (not using DVD). After that I haven’t use the DVD drive until today. I am not sure if it is possible that Window upgrade to cause DVD Drive to disappear from BIOS.

I installed wireless button driver from HP website but it still has not detected my WiFi.I have installed win 8.1 and the lap was bought from flipkart. It is powered by and a8 apu, 4GB ram, 2GB radeon 8570 graphics... (I also have pblm with my graphics driver. It detects my graphics card as 8500).
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Dell inspiron 6400 has a battery that works amazingly but recently, I noticed a change in the behaviour. Anytime I switch the laptop on, the LED battery indicator shows me red meaning something is wrong even when the battery is fully charged. The battery charges normally even when I intentionally drain out the power and try charging it again. This is just to make sure that the battery charges fine. Infact, in windows, it shows me that the computer is on AC power even when it is not plugged into an AC outlet.
The BIOS shows "No battery installed" and windows tells me the same. Summarily, everything is fine except for the LED indicator showing Red and the BIOS telling me that no battery is installed.
